Hadn’t everyone else given this 5 stars, I’d probably have given it 4. But bottom line, the subs are excellent. Their sandwiches all have cute names and they serve two types of toppings, the works and the lite works. I’m sure they would accommodate special orders, but I felt like I’d get someone’s nose out of joint if I veered from the preordained combinations of meat, cheese and toppings. Having said that, I’ve been in Muscatine 5 times and have had lunch at Avenue all 5 days. It’s that good.

Great place for a freshly sliced sub! Had two subs for $ 10. They slice the meat and cheese right in front of you, bread is delicious as well. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice and fairly priced lunch. They also have a baked potato menu, would like to try that out next time.

I would eat here every day if I could! The meat and cheese is sliced right in front of you. The bread is soft and fresh. I can get a meal with chips for about $ 5.00!!! I also must rave about the potatoes! They can sometimes be as large as your face. Overall delicious!!!

Do yourself a favor and skip the other sandwich shops! This is the only place you need to know!

This is the best sandwich place Muscatine. Local owners, great service and delicious sandwiches. Parking is a bit of a pain but it’s worth it.

Have eaten here many times and the food has always been consistently great. Big sub sandwiches where the meat is sliced just for your sandwich right in front of you. An assortment of big baked potatoes and their chili is great! All sandwiches are named after local streets, my favorite is the Breeze, but the meatball sub is right up there on my list too. If your visiting from out of town and looking for a quick lunch, skip Subway, Quiznos, and Jimmy Johns and try Muscatine’s own local sub shop. And they deliver too!
