Great coffee, treats & lunch. I haven’t really had anything I didn’t like there although a couple younger baristas seemed to lack coffee knowledge. The deck overlooking the river is awesome on a warm day & the spacious dining room has a lot of natural lighting. Great place to meet with friends or just sit back and chill.

I came to Muscatine or MuscaVegas with some of my friends. I think this is an average coffee shop where the coffee tastes alright. It’s not that special. But, the view from the deck is stunning and I bet during the summer, this is a go-to spot for the local high schoolers or middle ages couples to come and enjoy the Mississippi river and look at IL. I heard the coffee is overpriced but, it is not. I got a medium coffee(Sumatra; dark) and it was $ 2. The baristas look like they are high schoolers who’s working so they can pay for gas and other stuff so do not expect a professional barista job.(Don’t get me wrong, they are super kind and well mannered, it’s just when you are looking an actual coffee, this is not the top choice). I have yet to try food/pastry so I will update my review after that. The design is gorgeous. Wifi: beauti wifi password: weevie29

This is a fabulous spot to stop for a cup of tea and snack or for breakfast or lunch! They have a wonderful selection of hot teas that they brew fresh. All the food is homemade and its delicious. When you stop down you have to try one of their treats… they are terrific!!!

If you like overpriced average coffee served by people who couldn’t give a shit less whether you offer your patronage or not, try Elly’s b’c its the only coffeeshop in town… outside of the Starbucks at Hy-Vee. Free wifi a plus. Say hi to the owner she you’re there so she can look at you like«WTF are you talking to me, man?» Then buy a $ 5 chicken salad sandwich. It isn’t good, but it gets the oily taste of the coffee out of your mouth.

I can say that EVERYTHING I have tried at Elly’s is SUPERB. Great coffee, & teas, Excellent handcrafted sandwiches, and the deserts are wonderful. I don’t often do reviews, but this place is truly a local treasure, not just for coffee, but everything they have to offer. The employees make all the difference. Very nice. Oh yeah the building and ambiance are really cool to.

Great coffee shop in a cool old brick building. Food is good, as is the ice cream. Coffee is inexpensive with one free refill. The Lobster Bisque they serve on Fridays is great.

This is a great local place, with very good food and ice cream. I wish I had found it earlier, having been working in Muscatine for over 8 months now and was eating unexciting food at the national chain restaurants for the most part. If you order ice cream, make sure to get Halley’s Comet and request a shot of espresso on top. Excellent and refreshing break from work on a hot day!

I lived near Muscatine for years and stumbled upon this place yesterday. It is quaint and amazing. I ordered a caramel latte and it was served quickly and correctly, two things I appreciate in a coffee house. I also ordered a sugar cookies with frosting. OMG! This cookie was delicious. It was light and sweet. It didn’t crumble but was not overly chewy so it provided a nice contrast to the fluffy icing. I can already tell I am going to become a regular.

Every town should have an Elly’s. Reasons why it’s awesome: –Great coffee and tea. –Amazing huge fresh baked cookies. –Good soup and sandwiches. –Gorgeous space. A store part where you order, then a sunny large dining room, and a giant sundeck overlooking the River. So relaxing and cool. –They sell interesting items, like mugs, teas, wine(!), books. –Elly and her staff are so sweet. –Local small business not a faceless corporation. BOO!!! They had phenomenal gelato and the machine has been broken for ages. Apparently the part to fix it costs more than the machine itself. That sux. The still have ice cream though. If you are in the area make a point to stop in.

This little gem is hard to find if you don’t know where to look. It’s towards the back and to the right.(I feel like I’ve used this description before in a totally different context…) Tea, coffee, lattes, sandwiches, ice cream, pastries, and tons of space to sit. I got some tea and trail mix, and enjoyed the view of a river while preparing for an awful meeting. The entire experience was very calming until I walked out and was accosted by a giant parade puppet of Mark Twain. I still don’t understand why this happened.

Cute little sandwich/coffee/tea/ice cream shop. The turkey cobb sandwich is really fantastic! There is seating on the patio with a view of the river.

I like this restaurant. It’s dining area has large windows that overlooks the river. Its a cosy and comfortable café. I imagine, it would very nice to sit in the deck area and just chill. The restaurant serves sandwiches, soup and dessert. I had their soup and it was good. Coffee was good as well. I think this may be the best restaurant in all of Muscatine!

After two lunches, this jewel is well on it’s way to becoming a staple location! The quiche was simple, but flavorful; the soups are worthy of seconds if you were at home; the sandwiches are a combination of classic, staple deli fare and more unusual combinations. The egg salad sandwich was a Midwest classic. Not a big frou-frou latte drinker, I was happy to make an exception for theirs. I’ll be hard pressed to make a different beverage choice, they are that good. They have a large indoor seating area, complete with picture windows overlooking the river. The outdoor patio also overlooks the river and is nothing short of delightful with many tables, umbrellas in each and space enough to have a private conversation. Friendly staff, charming owner. Clean restrooms on the second floor with access by a grand staircase or elevator. There is plenty of parking, available on the street or in a lot to the rear. Traveling here for business, the only bad thing about it is the jealousy I feel for the locals who have such a fine establishment to patronize.
