Great food, a bit pricey but very comfortable atmosphere and dangerously — all you can eat! There is a very interesting«fisherman’s wharf /crab shack» kinda décor & feel to this place. And as I found out, it IS quite possible to overeat on seafood. Being from out of town — we were educated, photod and nearly decapitated by flying crab from the table across from us! There is an UNBELIEVABLE selection of delicious steak and seafood prepared in a variety of styles, soup & salad bars, along with desserts and fruits to finish it all off right. With an excellent wait staff and a photo to remember your experience, I’d say all-in-all Bennett’s Calabash Seafood Buffet is a MUST if you are in North Myrtle Beach, SC.

Great food! Great service! Server forgot our drinks, but made the extra step to make up for error.

A cute seafood buffet, like a nautical-themed Sizzler’s. Original price is $ 28 per adult including crab legs, which is kind of pricey for the overall so so quality, variety and ambience. Luckily, local paper and online coupons are abundant averaging $ 2 – 4 off that make it more worth it. Wait staff are great. Crab legs, flounder, and fried oysters are fresh and abundant. Not a premium place but still a solid local joint.

The buffet reasonably price about 27 bucks especially for crab legs. A table for 4… dinner @ 6pm, no wait. Food was decent, house shrimp very tasty. Service was good as well… fresh plates & drinks were rolling

Ok, so the reviews are completely true. $ 29.99 per person for the buffet, which is ridiculous for the atmosphere, service, and crowd. We asked if they had a basic menu and they did, so I got chicken tenders and fries for $ 7.99, which was a great price for the amount of food given. The service was… Interesting… He didn’t want to be there and was rude when you asked for a refill or condiments. The crowd was loud, proud, and there were a bunch of crying babies. Plus, the tables are so close together we had people bumping into the back of our chairs the whole time. Not fun

Very good food all you can eat seafood. It’s lots of things I have not tried, like Rockefeller oysters, shrimp and grits, and fried claims

Solid 3… We ate off of the menu, oyster and shrimp platter and chicken fingers platter… Cooked well, decent flavor. If it weren’t for the portions the menu items would be overpriced, but you get quite a bit and again it was cooked well. That being said, for the price you can do better… We ate here off season during flooding… Only a few places open.

I don’t hand out five stars easily. I am very particular especially about buffets and consequently, don’t visit them often. But, it was 2:15 and we hadn’t had lunch and we were hungry! Strapping on a feedbag didn’t sound like a bad idea, especially since we’re on vacation. After checking out our buffet options, we chose Bennett’s. They open at 2, and we showed up with coupon in hand at 2:15 assuming this is the best time to go to get the freshest food, and we were correct.($ 5 off in most coupon books given out at visitor centers and hotels. This brings the cost down to $ 22.99 per adult, which is not too bad considering what you get). We were greeted and seated by a friendly host who was our waiter, and he took very good care of us. After taking our order(they also have entrees — you don’t have to get the buffet), he brought us the most delicious hushpuppies and our drinks and plates, and off we went. The selection was fabulous. Everything from broccoli to fried squash to yams, calabash shrimp to various types of fish, prime rib, steak and even sausage. There’s a huge salad bar with various types of lettuce, toppings, cold shrimp with and without tails, crab meat and oysters. And there is a huge dessert bar if you possibly have any room left after your meal. You will be approached at your table by a young lady who will take your picture for a free postcard photo, along with other photos in frames that you can pay for if you like. We declined, and were not pressured to buy. So for $ 55 plus a nice tip, we had our meal for the day and were ready for a midday nap afterwards.(Don’t judge — we’re on vacay!) Oh, and the place was exceptionally clean, including the bathrooms. We noted before we walked in that this particular location has an «A» rating. Highly recommend!

NOT for the budget-minded vacationers. $ 22 for adults and $ 13 for kids. Our family of four rang up an $ 88 bill(not including the tip) for lunch. If not for chowing on hush puppies before I was handed a menu and learned the price, I woulda left! The buffet is standard fare for this area… nothing was that great. The place was very clean and the hosts friendly, but I walked away a bit shocked at the bill. Plus, they snap a free picture of you and then put on the full-court press to get you to buy more for $ 20.

We were greeted and seated immediately… For a larger party(8) that is not often the case. Our server, Gabby, was our constant dining companion. She consistently refilled our drinks and cleared out plates. We never had to ask for ANYTHING! She may have been the highlight of my experience. Now on to the food… we were immediately greeted with fresh, hot hush puppies. Those things were the truth! You can mess around and only eat hush puppies, if you aren’t careful. Everything was hot and fresh. The fried scallops and oysters were exceptional. The ribeye and prime rib were very tender. As an avid meat eater, I was not disappointed in flavor or temperature. My family members all enjoyed their meals, too. The crab legs were the highlight of the meal. They were hot, fresh and flavorful. Sometimes when you have crab legs on a buffet they taste watered down and are hard to eat. That was not the case here. The only dessert I tried was the cheesecake and it was BLAH! Major disappointment. My husband enjoyed the peach cobbler. There were several other options and fresh fruit, but I was too stuffed to try anything else. Overall, the food was worth the $ 29 price tag. I’d recommend you give it a try if you’re up for crab legs, with a taste of everything else.

This place is for buffet lovers. All you can eat for $ 29.99 including Alaskan crab legs. That said, the buffet included a large variety of seafood and other meats, side dishes, and desserts as well as salads and fruit. While I am a lover of Alaskan crab legs, that’s not what I wanted on this visit. Had I wanted the crab, I would gladly have paid $ 30 to eat them until I could eat no more. I wanted something light and there was nothing to be found. The regular menu included perhaps six entrees of which the combinations were not to my liking. I ordered nothing. instead, I ate my daughter’s side salad for my late lunch. I give Bennett’s 4 stars for the great looking crab legs and the other buffet selections(I didn’t taste any of it but it all looked good) and 2 stars for menu selection other than the buffet.

Price was decent for this place. Cheaper than other calabash places I have went to. However, some of the food on the buffet was a bit cold. It seemed like when business picked up some items were being put out more often and just the right temperature… Crab legs specifically. I will say watch out for the water in the ladies bathroom. I had the knob turned all the way to cold and it was still warm which was fine but when another customer flushed the toilet the water got Super hot.

Excellent seafood buffet! I’ve eaten here 4 times and the steak is always great, the fried oysters are amazing, and the crab legs are great. The selection is smaller than most of the other buffets around here but the quality makes up for it. Definitely coming back.

My wife, my grandson and I dropped in on our go to restaurant, while here at Myrtle Beach. We always include a visit here because, though the service is sketchy, the food is usually quite good. Not the case anymore. They may have changed cooks or management or the way they do things. The fried oysters, always a favorite of mine, didn’t taste the same as the last few times I was here. The fried scallops were just ok, seems to be missing something. My wife and grandson made up their part of the bill by chowing down on the crab legs. I don’t do crab legs. I sampled a lot of what they had out there along with the clam chowder. Clam chowder was tastless, though they did have clams and potatoes in it. Bland, tastless, Clam chowder. It used to be much better than this. I don’t get it. Why fix something that ain’t broke. The price is still high, we were okay with this when it was good, food now just doesn’t justify the price. The service is still poor, they use young people from other countries, and while I’m not against foreigners working the summer, I think they should have a better command of the english language and when you question the bill, it shouldn’t be taken as a direct affront to them. They need to work on their people skills. Waitress was a bit slow and clueless on how to do things more efficiently. When she asked if we would need melted butter, that should have been a clue to bring some nut crackers for the crab legs. No, she had to make the extra trip and make us wait until she got around to getting back to our table. Maybe she had a lot of tables to tend, I don’t know, but she could have made it easier on herself and us with a little extra common sense. So I think it will be awhile before we visit Bennetts again. We’ll try some of the other seafood buffets on the strip and maybe find a new favorite. You can do better Bennetts, shame on you for letting your business go downhill like this.

Not bad at all. The crab legs and shrimp are great. Most of the fish was rubbery. Service was great. We will definitely come back for the crab and shrimp.

Tried this while vacationing with in laws because they recommended Bennetts. Well… the good was good buy very very pricey for my small family. Not to help I have a very picky kid but she did eat a little. I personally would have liked to went to a restaurant with a better buffet bar and a little better on my pocketbook. But overall, it was very clean and the food did taste good.

Wow we loved this place. The food was fresh they make the best crab cakes in the world defiantly better than anything that is offered in Texas all of our servers were sweet and very attendant even down to make a special steak if the one I got wasn’t to my liking, at a buffet they offered this! I was shocked of the great care! They even helped us select the coupon out of the book. What more could a guest ask for at a restaurant? Much better than many places we have eaten at! And we are picky!!!

Don’t bother Saw the sign for crab legs that the kids wanted so we stopped. Outrageously overpriced for the quality of food offered. The stuffed crab tasted like stove top. Kids said crab was nice and hot, but no seasoning. Don’t waste your money here, there are so many better places to go like the Sea Captains House.

Terrible don’t even bother! Go to Captain George’s! Our meal was mediocre at best! Plate still had previous diner’s food adhered to the bottom. Food not fresh in steam table. The melted butter is held hostage and very sparingly rationed out! Then when you REALLY want to leave they argue over your coupon and forced me to prove where I got it! Insane… I paid to get treated like a criminal over $ 2! Will never be back! Will never tell anyone, short of my enemies, to go there! Oh and I almost forgot the mysteriously soggy croutons… lucky my husband was so disgusted he reminded me to mention them!

Pricey, as others have said. $ 27.99 per person is more than we normally spend for dinner, but I wanted to try their seafood and we were on vacay. My thinking was, I may never get to Bennett’s Calabash Seafood again in my life… but after eating there, I would be okay with that. The crab legs, yes, they were good. And I filled my plate a few times so I think I got my money’s worth. However, if you are not into crab legs, you might want to think about going somewhere else. The rest of the food was just meh. They seemed to have a decent amount of options, but each one I tried did not really meet my expectations. My son also likes crab legs, so he enjoyed that — but my poor husband is not a big fan, and for him there just wasn’t anything to rave about. Golden Corral for seafood lovers comes to mind, although I honestly like the food at Golden Corral better. It «boils» down to… crab legs.
