The owners are very nice, we came in late and they didn’t turn us away. The food is stellar, fresh and authentic. You will not be disappointed.

Amazing food, Mykel is the best waiter ever! Very attentive and always available when you need something. My friend loved the Goulash, I’m hooked on the veal

I’m no German food expert, I barely know what I ordered but I know it was tasty! The service at the bar was excellent with a good German beer selection. The bartender was very attentive and helpful in answering my questions. I know this isn’t a very thorough review but I would definitely recommend trying this place if you need a break from seafood like I did.

We tried a Tuesday night dinner at Café Old Vienna, 1604 N Kings Hwy, Myrtle Beach. 5:30 reservation isn’t needed this time of year. Highly suggest you try the Sunrise Martini. Green salad w/honey vinaigrette house dressing is VG. We tried the Veal Jäger Schnitzel w/red cabbage & spaetzle and the Beef Sauerbraten w/red cabbage & spaetzle. Both dishes were excellent and tender enough to cut with a fork. Red cabbage didn’t have much of a vinegar flavor which surprised me since my mothers version does. She’s from Munich Germany. Enough food to satisfy most people as neither of us could finish our plate. The entire experience didn’t disappoint. There was no loud umpa music on this particular night as others have reported. Waiters and waitresses are dressed in old traditional european attire. It’s not a cheap dinner but worth at least one visit if you’re vacationing in Myrtle Beach.

I took my parents here for lunch, and oh my goodness was it good! My father is notoriously hard to please, and even he enjoyed his Bratwurst and Sauerkraut — saying both had very good flavor. My Hunter’s Schnitzel was excellent, served with spaetzle and vegetables, and the brown gravy was authentically delicious. My mother thoroughly enjoyed her schnitzel sandwich, but she admittedly was only there for the dessert! Speaking of which! We all shared some Black Forest Cake and Apple Strudel and they were sublime! Best I’ve ever had outside of Bavaria. We will definitely go back!

This is German food as it is supposed to be. October had polka music, all month, a little too loud, but it did set the mood a bit. It was really packed this Tuesday night, so my Saurbratten serving could have been larger, but it tasted great. Red cabbage, yummy. Noodles, OK. Overall a great experience, especially if you like German food, but an experience if you don’t. My only suggestion? Get some liter mugs for beer, and cut the prices of pints down to a reasonable $ 5 instead of $ 7.50. I will return next October for sure.

Looking for healthy food – this isn’t the place for you. I did have a grilled grouper sandwich and the tomato and cucumber salad. Very good. Service and German atmosphere were delightful.

Outstanding authentic food. Great atmosphere! The atmosphere is great. The service is great. The beer choices are solid… And the Austrian wait staff are as friendly and efficient as anywhere you go. Don’t miss dessert!

Of the three German Restaurants I have eaten at in Myrtle, this one is By far the Best! Highly recommend the Veal Schnitzel with Almond Breading with a tall german beer to drink, I have ordered this many times and it is as consistent as it is delicious. The restaurant’s new location is walking distance from the Boardwalk area. Definitely the best German in Myrtle, and one of the best overall in Myrtle in my opinion.

Very few restaurants in America can perfect the German quality food that we eat while we’re on vacation and staying with family in Germany this restaurant shows and sets the standard for what German food in America should taste like if I eat this food in Germany I would consider it a great place

I never made it to their previous location but this new one is great. It’s conveniently located and has it’s own parking lot so getting in and out is easy. The service was wonderfully friendly and the food was delectable. We started with an order of calamari that was amazing. It was fresh and very lightly breaded so it didn’t taste greasy at all. I think it came with a side of garlic sauce but I’m not entirely sure. There was a small container of some sort of sauce that was really tasty. They had lunch specials that day so I ended up ordering a jaeger casserole which was a pork jaeger snitzel on a bed of spatzle smothered in the mushroom gravy. It was very tasty and the portions were ridiculously huge. I took at least half of my meal home with me for later. My husband ordered the sauteed liver lunch special. It was served in a creamy sauce with spatzle and vegetables on the side. His was also good but you definitely have to like the taste of liver to enjoy it. We both do so we would certainly order it again in the future. I don’t actually know if this would be considered authentic or not but more importantly, everything was delicious. It’s just a bonus that it was also very reasonably priced and came with wonderful service.

The food was interesting for sure! We ordered a variety off the lunch menu and shared. I would recommend the potato salad and sausage! Both are interesting but the rest? Eh, it’s worth a try but not sure about eating on a regular basis. The staff here are excelent, the waitress from Uzbekistan told us everything about the food and made good recomendations and afterwards stuck around to talk to us. She was enthusiastic and a good waitress.

Seated outdoors by a very nice young lady. Sat out there for 30 minutes without any of the dozens of staff walking by even saying hello. At around the 20 minute mark, I flagged down the nice young lady to let her know I didn’t think anyone knew we were there. We left at the 30 minute mark. Food sure looked good though.

This was our first time to try the Café Old Vienna. Do make a reservation. The restaurant was filling up quickly, and we had a 6:30PM reservation. With a German-Austrian focus, the restaurant is like stepping into a classic European restaurant. The new location is warm with wood panels and classic German décor. They had an accordion player for the evening — nice music but a little on the loud side. We loved seeing the servers dressed in Dirndl and Lederhosen. The menu offered many classic choices. Our server, Mykle, was a delight — very attentive and friendly. We ordered 2 original Veal-Wiener Schnitzels with red cabbage and spaetzle and 2 Viennese Gulasch with a medley of vegetables and spaetzle. All of our dishes were generous in size and delicious. We were too full for dessert, but they looked very good.

This restaurant took me back to my favorite life experience I’ve ever had in an Austrian restaurant in the back country of Vienna, Austira. This place is authentic and the atmosphere is amazing. We happened to visit on polka night where they have a live musician playing the accordion. Everything about our experience has been perfect. The German Riesling is fantastic. The food portions are huge. I highly recommend the German feast for two if you want a taste of all the traditional German/Austrian staple dishes. It is more than enough. This place made my whole vacation. I am now craving another vacation to Europe.

This was exactly what we needed after two days of nothing but eat-what-you-can-find-on-the-interstate fast food. The food at Café Old Vienna was simple, but it was delicious.

Café Old Vienna is an excellent Austria/German restaurant(also offers several Hungarian dishes). We went here for the lunch special served between 1130 – 1530. The Veal-Jäger Schnitzel was amazing, the breading was crisp, not greasy. The mushroom/jäger gravy was creamy. It came with spatzel and red cabbage. I would recommend this dish! We also had the Bratwurst & Sauerkraut, came with home-made fries. The bratwurst was delicious and pairs perfectly w/beer! I’m normally not a fan of sauerkraut, but it was delicious w/a little kick(from the caraway seeds). Get 2 bratwurst since it’s only $ 2 more. The home-made fries were okay, I liked that they were not greasy or salted. Wish they had more German/Austrian beer choices, but great beers that you can’t easily find in the area. I was not really impressed with the beer garden/outside seating since scenery is of buildings/road/parking lot, but they have a large awning for shade and umbrellas at tables directly in sun. It’s a good area for large groups. I would definitely recommend Café Old Vienna, to anyone visiting Myrtle Beach.
