Living 30 miles inland from the beach, the winter is when we usually travel to the beach to try different restaurants, as we don’t have to put up with the crowds and tourist traffic of summer. Usually no waiting, and the service is top notch everywhere. No different yesterday, as the Key West Grill is a big tourist attraction during tourist season, and was on our list to try! I love raw oysters in the winter, and looked online at their happy hour menu. Most seafood restaurants around the beach offer raw oysters in the happy hour menu for a reduced price, to go along with other appetizers and drinks. The menu on line read one dozen oysters on the half shell were $ 8.99. I asked our server Tyler if the oysters were on the happy hour menu and he said no, they are market price, which was $ 14.99 yesterday. I had my appetite set on raw oysters so I ordered anyway. The presentation of the oysters was the best I have ever seen, and I usually get oysters everywhere I can! And the were really excellent tasting, but I got one dozen instead of two because of the price difference. Beer was discounted as was everything else on the happy hour menu. For the mains, I got shrimp fettuccine Alfredo, which was excellent, and would get again, my buddy got the blackened fish of the day, and he said it was most excellent. The wife got the fried shrimp basket, Along with fries and Cole slaw. She compared it to any other shrimp basket, was ok but nothing to rave about. The daughter got the Island chopped chicken, said it was very good. Service was good, and Tyler kept our drinks filled and was very knowledgeable about the menu and(except the oysters) and the wait was never too long. I would have given four stars because service and food were deserving of it, but took one off because the advertised price of the oysters was different than the price on the menu. And that’s only because I had my heart set on a couple dozen instead of just one. The prices were fair for the food we got, and the atmosphere good. Probably very nice in the summer when the patio is open. We would probably go back, but not in the winter to slurp oysters!

The service matched the taste of the food; they both werr terrible. The meal was overpriced. Worst place to eat at Broadway at the beach!

Huge Pirate themed cavern of a restaurant in a carefully calculated money extraction zone! It is so obvious what their game is that I was embarrassed to enter! Nevertheless, I was meeting coworkers. So I was going through the massive cafeteria style menu and my eyes landed on the Cuban style rice bowls. I grew up In south Florida, and I can tell you one thing, there ain’t no such thing as a Cuban rice bowl… well maybe among the burgeoning Cuban — Chinese community in La Havana. So it was a runny mess of overcomes chicken with chunks of mushy pineapple and… stuff. But hey, it was only $ 15.99! I also ordered it with yellow rice and got white rice not even my undersized 12 oz. pint of Guinness for $ 6.00 made up for it! I would say, stay farrrrrrr away from this pirate bar!

Visited during happy hour. We sat at the Bar and had appetizers, drinks and Dinner. The bartender was great, the food was ok. The food wouldn’t make me rush back. Priced were ok, not much we ordered was on happy hour specials.

Good service, very nice atmosphere/clean. Ordered the«Cubano sandwich». It was very very very dried out and so was the ham. I am on vacation and just paid $ 12.99 for this, and understand I am in a tourist destination so there will be higher food costs. Won’t be coming back nor recommend

Decent food with access to waterfront dining, but extremely OVERPRICED. The food was not worth the price. I’ve had better food & service for much less. It is crowded so there might may be some waiting time. This restaurant appears to be a classy place from the interior & exterior, but in reality the waiters do not know how to take care of you and the food does not have a unique taste; ordinary. We had to ask for water & when we got it he simply left the water on the table rather than taking it back. We also had to ask him to take the appetizer plates away. Nobody really enjoyed their meal other than the fact that we got to enjoy the waterfront. We went on the day they had fireworks which was 10⁄10 definitely go when they have fireworks, they happen right in front of the restraunt! If you’re into classy seafood this is a good restaurant but be prepared to make your wallet slightly lighter. For a family of 4 people our total was $ 100. *crab burger was tasty and reasonably priced*

Stumbled upon the Key West Grill after seeing happy hour signs coming back from the aquarium and are so glad that we did. The happy hour specials are great and the drinks were to die for. While we mostly drank, we did indulge in some small plates including the garlic bread(definitely get this), the chicken tacos, and the jerk chicken wings(very spicy but full of flavor)!!

We waited 10 minutes to even be served anything and still nobody came to see us so on our way out they said have a nice day even though they knew we just got there and didn’t even ask us why we are leaving so we went across the street to the rooster which was amazing food and we loved it! So I recommend you go to rooster directly across the way friendlier people and amazing food! And very cold beer in the 16 pints are only $ 4!

Drinks at half price during happy hour were average. The fried pickles and jalapeños were ok. But, the fried calamari was slimy and horrible tasting.

My wife and son and I went here while visiting Broadway on the Beach. We arrived at 2pm on a rainy Tuesday, so the entire Broadway place was busy. The place was 25% full and we had a 20 minute wait, so we waited at the bar. Drinks were good, but a bit pricey(expected because it is a tourist trap). When we were sat, we were placed the first table from the front door, while the main dining room was stiil less than 50% full(this is where the great views are) and the seat we were given, were basically right across from the bar where we got our drinks. I asked the hostess to move, and she said sure… if we wanted to wait another 20 minutes! When Jason our server came over, he was aware that we were already disappointed and offered to take us to a better table. He was attentive, helpful and very accomodating for the entire meal. If it weren’t for Jason, we would have most likely left and this review would have taken a different direction. I had the Mahi sandwich with fries which was very good. My wife had a specialty salad which she loved. We also ordered the conch fritters and were very pleased. I have lived in the Keys for a while and my family still lives there. The conch fritters were just as good here as they are in the Keys. Again, it’s a bit pricey… but it’s a tourist restaurant… so it is to be expected.

The food was delicious here. I had the island chopped chicken which came with plantains and I got yellow rice & black beans. My only complaint is with our server Shannon. She made a comment while my friend was talking to her about tips and said«yeah I had a guy that only left like a $ 2 tip the other night. When I saw that he had a confederate flag tattoo I wasn’t surprised». She was nice but I found her comment about that to be completely ignorant. Just because someone doesn’t tip well and they have a confederate flag tattoo on him that explains why he doesn’t tip well? The comment was completely inappropriate and I would have opened my mouth and said something but I didn’t there was no reason to. I’ll just Unilocal about it. Ignorance is bliss.

My boyfriend and I decided to give this place a try while visiting Broadway at the Beach. We sat down and ordered the oysters as our appetizer. While we were waiting we decided to take a look at the reviews on Unilocal. We started second guessing ourselves and almost left before our waitress came back because the reviews were not good! Luckily we stayed and everything was really good! The oysters were AMAZING. I got the shrimp fettuccine as my entrée and my boyfriend got the mahi mahi. We really enjoyed the food and it was a great atmosphere and our waitress was very sweet. I would suggest you try it out for yourself, we had a lovely experience!

My husband and I had been to a few places here during our vacation and wanted to try something different. We chose this restaurant which has a funky pirate, Key West feel. We were lured in by the happy hour drinks half off from 4 – 7. We were asked where we wanted to sit and chose outside. We sat at a cute table and had a waitress come right over. She explained the specials and asked if we had any questions. We asked about happy hour and were told that was only for seats at the bar and bar tables. But she assured us of $ 4 anytime margaritas. We opted to move two tables over to get the happy hour drinks and still had a great view of the water. Our drinks were fun, but not strong. I’d recommend sticking to beer or wine for assured alcohol content. They had $ 4.99 appetizers so I tried the Mac and cheese fritters with spicy Ranch sauce. Yum! Also got the beef personal nachos, nothing special but tasty. Husband got a full entrée of shrimp Alfredo. He was pleased with amount of shrimp served. It wasn’t a bad experience, but wasn’t amazing either. I’d recommend coming for apps and drinks during happy hour by their outdoor deck and enjoy the sights!

Lots of hiccups during our dinner. Delays with food coming out. Jerk chicken pizza had bones in it! Calamari was chewy and greasy! Mojito grilled chicken was DRY!!! Jambalaya was tasty, fried clam strips very good! Drinks very overpriced! Happy to eat outside on the water but that was the best part of this meal!

My review starts and ends with the hostess. I know that the county has a law that says strollers cannot block aisles HOWEVER when you have an empty restaurant you can easily move chairs so that my sleeping infant can stay in his stroller. There were 3 young hostess’ that instead offered a high chair to my 2month old, even after I told them how young he is. Needless to say we walked out which would have been a few hundred dollars. Somehow I don’t think we missed out on an fine cuisine.

Step # 1 Grab a seat outside if the weather is nice… order a margarita. Instant attitude adjustment! Step # 2 Order the Cuban sandwich(extra pickles) and/or the Nachos Del Mar. I always get mine with shrimp and chicken. I’ve had these dishes a dozen times over the years and have never been dissapointed. Perfect cheese-to-nacho ratio. Never a dry chip… Step # 3 Take a few of these reviews with a grain of salt. This restaurant is located at one of the busiest tourist destinations in Myrtle Beach. Is it gourmet dining? No, of course not… the fiberglass pirate out front should be your first clue! Like every other restaurant at Broadway At The Beach, it’s designed for quick turnover. You’ll get good food that’s appropriately priced in a fun(Key West themed) environment. If you want 5 star dining; as it appears some of these reviewers were expecting, I suggest you head over to North Myrtle Beach and try Greg Norman’s. You’ll of course pay the appropriate price… It frustrates me to see these«champagne taste on beer budget» reviews. Why would anyone expect gourmet dining from a restaurant that’s shaped like a pirate ship? Yes, the front of this building is shaped like a pirate ship… guess what’s inside? The sort of food you’d expect to be served in a building shaped like a pirate ship. During the busy season there’s even a guy running around making parrot balloons for the kids. Guess what, he’s dressed like a pirate too! Go with it… have fun, but don’t complain this place is anything other than what any reasonable person could ascertain from the front door. –Neil NOTE: Follow me on Unilocal for more local reviews!
