This is my favorite place to eat sushi! Every time I go there with my friends, I always order the TNT Roll and the New York Roll. Sushi can get very pricey but the prices here are not bad. The couple times i’ve been here, there has been a live band which is very cool. The service there is pretty good too.

The sush and the location are wonderful… The service and atmosphere, not so wonderful. The employees tend to talk and carry on uncomfortably near the patrons. Our favorite roll is the crunch crab roll, and edamame is always a must. We like King Kong but it’s worth the drive to go to the Conway location.

Not bad but not amazing. Had the Tuna Mania Roll. Looked awesome coming out but really had no taste. Also ordered the spicy tuna roll, really not that spicy. The wife had the Fire Roll and there again it looked nice when it came to the table. Presentation was great flavor was lacking. The wife had a side salad and really enjoyed it!

As an avid sushi eater and traveling from New York, I must say I have been rather spoiled with quality sushi, but this falls far from it. A friend of mine, who lives in the area told me that this is as good as sushi gets in South Carolina; «A local favorite» …my heart breaks for the people of South Carolina. 4 stars on location: The restaurant itself is very lovely, great for large groups and cozy enough to for a date. The décor was not overwhelming and maintain a classy look. Most of all, it was super clean. The staff made it a point that each table was spotless and garbage was not left on the table. 1 star on the food: We came with a group of four and decided to «family style«it and order an assortment of appetizers and rolls to try. Edamame: could have used some more salt. Eel sauce(I like to use for my Edamame): I don’t understand how they try to pass this as an eel sauce when in reality it would be more of a watery-brown sugar sauce? It was way to sweet and the consistency is completely off. Beef Negimaki: traditionally this dish would be broiled strip of beef rolled in negi(scallions) but this restaurant replaces the scallions with cream cheese. I would not agree that it is a good idea. The cream cheese over powers the beef, masking a potentially good favor. Russian Roulette Roll: the«spicy sauce» did not compliment the salmon at all. Left an odd bitter taste in your mouth Tuna Mania Roll: My favorite roll of the night! Super delicious combination of seared tuna and Ponzu sauce! So glad we ordered two of those ! I would highly recommend it. Needham Roll: It was just okay. The blended all together. No name Roll: Their«eel sauce» made the roll way to moist; aside from being to loosely rolled, the moisture had the rice sticking to the plate and not the seaweed. Roll: spicy mayo was atrocious, It ruined the whole roll! At first I thought there was white baby food on … I can’t even find something else to compare the taste to – this roll also lacked a fish. The tempura flakes packed out the whole roll. I would avoid. We ordered a few other but I do not remember the name nor were we even told which roll is which(commonly done in every other sushi restaurant that I have ever went to) — the waitress just dropped the plate and walked away. Overall: while the food is aesthetically appealing, the taste not to much. The rolls are to loosely rolled and the chefs have a heavy hand with the rice and serve could have better table side manners.

If you are a Sushi fanatic avoid this place. Needing a Sushi fix and not knowing the area well tried this place. First, I’m a seasoned Sushi fanatic having eaten in the best Sushi Bars all over the country especially the Pacific Northwest. Big inside with a long Sushi Bar, plenty tables and booths and another Bar on the opposite end. Service was good. Sushi, 1 star at best. Had a Rainbow Roll(ultimate test as there are sevens types of fish) and every different fish tasted the same, meaning old or frozen seafood. Rice had no flavor at all and Misco soup 99.9% broth. Gyoza was over cooked and sauce very spicy. I’m over this place and will spend more time researching best bars in a new location rather than running to nearest.

Great friendly service. Wonderful food from the appetizers to the rolls. Terrific Tommy Roll, great Sunset and of course old faithful, Philly Roll. Loved it. Nice and quiet on a Monday at lunch.

This is a great establishment located on the boardwalk. I’ve been here four times. Every time I go to Myrtle Beach this is a must stop. The sushi is very tasteful with unique options. They have a variety of speciality rolls to choose from. The drinks aren’t the strongest but I came for sushi so I give it five stars. If you want good drinks there are bars all over the boardwalk. If you stop try the tuna mania.

This place is good, but not as good as the carolina forest location… the only thing this has going for it that is better is the physical location right on the water at broadway at the beach. It’s great for crowds but the service is less on point and a little forgetful with drink orders even when you’re one of 3 tables. The sushi itself is delicious and they have a lot of unique rolls and dishes they boast! The cocktails are also really interesting and unique if you’re looking for a fun dinner spot to get the night started!

The sushi was pretty good. A few different rolls. The kids menu is super limited. Only one option. Decent portion. The waitstaff was super friendly and attentive.

Oh… my…gosh. King Kong serves some of the best sushi that I have ever had. I have a habit of finding new sushi places that I have to try when I am on vacation. Boy am I happy that I was able to eat a tasty dinner at King Kong during my stay in Myrtle Beach. This place located in Broadway at the Beach and is HUGE. Not only is the place huge, but so is the menu! I have never seen so many speciality rolls in my entire life. They all looked so good and I was slightly tempted to just order them all. After much deliberation, my mom and I ended up splitting the Sunset Roll, Tuna Mania Roll, and the Hurricane Roll. Verdict: AMAZING. I don’t think that I can say which one I like the most because they were all so unique. If you like sushi, then this is the place to go. Best sushi in Myrtle Beach!

Only stop here if your taste buds have stopped working. This is the worst sushi I have ever had. It was quite bland and the seaweed was cheap and stringy. I had the crab crunch roll and the spicy shrimp maki roll. My husband had the sunset and our kids had the California and #95. The only thing more insulting was the staff. Our server, Mike, was quite slow and uncaring. It took over 15min just to pay our bill. McDonald’s provides a higher quality customer service. I have never been one to walk out without paying, but it was very tempting to do so. Bottom line — families are not welcome at this location. Take your money somewhere else.

I love the Sushi here! They often have gluten free soy sauce(just ask for it). I get the clear soup, edamame, and a bunch of the ‘normal’ rolls(things without spicy and without tempura) and I’m always fine afterwards.

Nice ambiance, great & quick service. The sushi is fresh, the sushi rice is decent. We had the alaskan roll, spicy salmon roll, and the tuna sandwich roll. The tastiest has to be the tuna sandwich roll. Perfectly spicy yet not too overpowering. Our table also ordered the steak hibachi plate. The rice is amazing! The vegetables are perfectly grilled and seasoned — so were the steak. Overall a pleasant experience considering its location in the middle of a tourist trap!

My husband and I came here three times. The first time we waited over an hour to get our sushi, the second time our waitress was so slow, and the third time we for food poisoning. We weren’t the only people who complained about the constant vomiting over night, there were others that also came in and complained. I wouldn’t eat sushi here ever again.

Mmmm I died a little when I ate here again. Their sushi is sooo good! Really wish i lived closer Lolo. Servers were nice. I had hurricane roll with a philly. My boyfriend had tuna mania and new York roll. Have to say, tuna mania was by far our new fav. The new York roll was surprisingly delicious as well. I say that because it had an apple cream over it which I thought would be weird but it was awesome. First time we ate here was for my birthday last year and we had a great experience. Coming back this time around we were not disappointed. The food was really delicious, it has a whole diff taste that you don’t usually get from local places(must be the fresh fish considering they’re so close to the beach) and even though I don’t often go to myrtle Beach, I’ll keep going back just to eat here.

Had a beautiful view of the sunset and the water, drinks were not bad and the sushi was ok… However, we ordered 4COOKED rolls and calamari, and split it all with my wife. Can’t tell you which one it was but we both got extremely sick from it and we were up all night on the last night of our vacation awful sick ! I may have had a 1 time bad experience but I can’t say i’d ever chance it again, one of the worst sicknesses I’ve ever had and it’s all caused by this place … I’d recommend you look at another option.

On this October evening, King Kong Sushi was all but deserted. We had cheerful and attentive service from Veronica, who was an absolute delight. Our dinner was a New York Roll($ 6.50) with smoked salmon, cream cheese, cucumber and apple wine sauce, a miso soup($ 2.50), and a Sushi Dinner($ 22.95) for ten pieces of chef’s choice sushi and a sallmon roll. My sushi was very good– fresh and clean tasting. I especially liked the eel and octopus pieces. The food was very good, the value was about right, the interior was very nice, and the service, personality, and attention from Veronica were excellent.

Visiting the area I was instructed to visit the king king sushi location after checking into my hotel. This was indeed a great choice. I chose to have the chicken and shrimp hibachi entrée. The chicken in the dish was a little dry(unexpected), however the shrimp and rice was really good. The calamari was good as well. For some reason the green tea was tasty but not hot enough. We continued to ask for hot water, which never seem to be hot enough. The waitress was very nice, attentative and accommodating. Otherwise, the ambience was nice. Being that this location is located in a tourist area, I feel this has much to do with the preparing of the food as well. Overall, the experience was good and will return when visiting SC.
