Stayed here for the weekend. Nice hotel, but just a little small. The beach is right outside. The wifi sucks for watching Netflix, HBO, etc.

My family was on vacation here and just got back home. We had a one week stay at the breakers. There was some good and bad. The pros– excellent location on the beach. Close to free shuttle stops. Discount at Ben and Jerry’s across the street. Close to several eateries and they have multiple pools. There is supposed to be a sauna and a kids club but never got to use the sauna or the kids club. The cons– There is supposed to be a pirate ship near the pool area for kids but this is under construction. This was supposed to be completed by the time we came here in June. We were very disappointed. We stayed in the Palmetto building in an efficiency suite. The room was very humid and the sheets in the bed were wet. We called housekeeping and they came right away. The bedsheets were wet like someone had come in from the beach and laid in the bed. There were 2 pillows that also had stuff like makeup on them. There was black stuff maybe sand or grit from the beach. The evening shift housekeeper came and cleaned it up well. We were tired at 10pm and didn’t want to worry about finding another place. Overall, the housekeeping and maintenance come quickly. Can be a little noisy since walls are paper thin. We had booked this on a deal with 50% off and 2 free breakfasts daily but wouldn’t pay full price for this resort.

The Breakers resort is a great place to stay! The room was clean, and they have an awesome bar called The Rusty Reel. Highly recommend stopping in there for a few drinks, they were extremely accommodating. When we wanted to stay an extra day, they moved us back into our old room while we waited for our new one to be ready. Extremely friendly and helpful staff, oh and I almost forgot, the bartenders name is Andy. Hell of a bartender, handling the busy hours by himself as well as taking orders from the customers sitting at tables. I will definitely come back here to stay for vacation.

Our initial reservations were for seaglass not far from here.(Something went wrong) I won’t go into that as long as we received a refund. Priceline had a deal on this resort. It was late we were tired and wanted to get inside from the strong 16 mh winds outside. Upon checking in a nice woman welcomed me for our 1 night stay. I didn’t expect to have our resort fee waived but it was.(Thank you). Room had two queens we wanted a king but oh well. TV had a few channels nothing special. Our balcony didn’t face the beach like we hoped, it faced another hotel and side walk, main street but it wasn’t noisy.(surprised) Room was clean, microwave, mini fridge and tiny bathroom but we made it work. Parking was across the street in a parking garage plenty of parking on 4,5,6 floor of the deck. It was just over night, it was comfy I would do it again ONLY if we get a oceanview.

We visited Myrtle Beach for a couple of days in April with friends(husband/wife pair) that were visiting from British Columbia, Canada. Originally we were booked down the street at a sister hotel, The Strand, which came with a variety of perks(free breakfast, free tickets to a couple of entertainment things around town). Unfortunately we had a change of plans and had to come later in the same week. The hotel was great and was able to move our reservation with no extra cost. Unfortunately, they did not make it clear that they were switching us from The Strand to the Breakers Resort and that we would be losing some of our perks. Not the end of the world, we did have to change our reservation, but it would have been nice if that had been made clear at the time of reservation change. Now with all of that being said, we enjoyed our stay at The Breakers Resort. We reserved a 2 bedroom suite, which had 2 bathrooms, full kitchen, and washer and dryer. We were only there 2 days, so we didn’t need the kitchen or w/d, but appreciated the nice size. The suite was clean, there was a view from the balcony of the ocean. It’s conveniently located to the main strip with the restaurants, stores, and bars. The front desk staff was extremely nice and helpful. The husbands jumped in the heated pool and then the hot tub after jumping in the cold ocean. We’d likely stay there again.

Booked and modified reservation thru however, Breakers canceled my reservation without warning. After my 12 hour drive, I was thrilled(sarcasm) to have the front desk registration employee try to tell me my credit card was declined so opened my reservation, which was not the case. Hotel is taking absolutely no responsibility for their mistake. They reluctantly sold us a room for the night, though it’s tiny, gross, and we can hear every single word uttered in the adjoining room next door. We stay in 8 – 10 hotels per year and I have never written a negative review.

Let’s face it, with the exception of the number of pools or lazy rivers most of these hotels ok the water will suffice. If you want to escape life and come to another place with all the same amenities of home then just stay home. The hotel is very nice. Staff is super friendly, place is very clean. But you’ll find these same descriptions for other places I’ll bet. Our only complaint with this place out of thia particular stay and something sadly we’ve experienced at other hotels in this same strip is that around this time of year some choose to do renovations to prepare to the peak season. Well this is the second tim a hotel has failed to mention that what you’re used to seeing or what you’re looking at online is not actually there at the moment. Im this case the pirate ship. It’s a big water play area that once we arrived found nothing but a hole where it used to be. Thankfully the hotel was nice enough to reimburse us a night. This is information that should be mentioned before booking. Either way its a great hotel. It’s on the beach. You’ll be with friends and family and hopefully partying hard. I definitely recommend this place. I know we’ll definitely be back.

Review for off-season weekend stay at Dune Mini Suites 02÷27÷2016−02÷29÷2016 After fretting over which tower, room and bed configuration, I settled on booking the newer Dunes building; a poolside two room mini suite. Which is across the street from the main towers and the beach. You have to cross the street, and pass the towers to get to the beach, which really wasn’t as far as I thought it would be. Heated pools and hot tubs were along the way, with a patio full of beach chairs. The Breakers acquired this low-level motel and renovated it, though not entirely. I think they just cleaned it up a bit. It was perfect. Cheapest option for exactly what we wanted. Cons: I wouldn’t recommend you stay in this room with kids that require quiet or are a handful, or if you need privacy. The road noise comes off the main street, thru the balcony that overlooks the pool and the street. The bathroom door didn’t shut properly or lock. There is no lid on the toilet nor a sink with any kind of counter space. The shower was cumbersome. No vent fan in the bathroom, though it looked like there was a vent in the ceiling. Plenty of towels but only soap and shampoo provided. Only the one bedroom with the air conditioner/heater, so the room near the door had the hum of the ice machine and at the mercy of the airflow. People are up late and make noise well into the night.(We crash out early) Pros: These are not any items that could not be overcome. We were two ladies out for the weekend. It was perfect for us. Free Wi-fi. The rooms had heavy curtains to blackout the sun and muffle the noise, the beds were clean and comfy with lots of pillows, and the mini kitchen was a perfect for a mini bar setup. Mini fridge, microwave, sink with dish soap and clothes. Maintenance was prompt if and when we called them. They didn’t get the ice machine working until the day we left but they tried and brought us ice when we needed it. We had full access to all of the resort amenities and nothing was a great distance. The Dunes is a low, three-story building. It has an elevator but being on the second floor, we didn’t have to wait for it(as we would if we were in the towers) and I prefer stairs. Stores nearby for whatever you forgot or might need. Walk to the main drag just west and you find a Dollar General. It’s a great location. Starbucks and wine store closer to the Dunes building than the towers. It’s was great. The resort shuttle picked us up from the airport and told us about the Grouper Fingers at the Bummz café next door. Seriously good tip — we had a great lunch. It was chilly and windy but the sun was out, so we were happy. We hung out by the pool, after hitting the liquor store, about a block from our hotel room. Napped nicely, then hit the shuttle again to take us to Broadway for Saturday night fun. Tipped the driver and grabbed a cab to get back. Since it’s off season, there were a lot of places closed. Soho was our saving grace, which was just across the street from our hotel rooms, with great food(sushi), and happy hour. There were two other options with burgers, tiki drinks, and America fare nearby too. We walked the beach to the Skywheel, after redeeming our free ride that came with each room. Each room came with one free Skywheel ticket and Aquarium ticket. We found another room that wasn’t going to use their Skywheel and traded for our Aquarium. So we both had free ride on the wheel. The Skywheel and the main boardwalk area is about ¾ to ½ mile south. You could take a shuttle or public transportation, but we walked the beach there and the sidewalks back. If you don’t mind walking, and are looking for cheap and good enough — this is a great resort for the off season. It’s a good as it gets for an affordable Myrtle Beach visit.

Loved our short stay here, we booked on the 18th floor, the view of the ocean is amazing. The rooms were very clean. Full size refrigerator in the kitchen, larger than normal bathtub. Beds and pillows are comfortable. The indoor pool is great, especially when it is too cold for the ocean, its heated. They have a lazy river(for the kids) and two hot tubs. We Plan on staying here the next time we are in town.

Do not come here and stay at The Strand! There are jackhammers working on the balcony so loud you can’t even talk to each other outside or by the pool. I asked and was told they will be working until 5 pm. Sucks! A waste of money. This should have been done in January.

Clean lobby, and other facilities; except for hottub. The hottub someone had pooped in and someone fell victim from that, unacceptable.

My husband and I stayed there in September 2015. The room was so small with 2 beds in it. Had I been overweight. I probably wouldn’t have fit past the bed to the balcony… They had a bar which was never open. Only 2 times within a week.. we walked up to the main breakers. Because the front desk never told us they had a shuttle bus. The breakfast buffet. Was terrible. I really don’t have anything nice to say about the place. And will never stay there again

I just don’t understand why the concept of an oceanfront balcony being parallel to the beach is so difficult to comprehend. We have stayed at the breakers North Tower, now the strand boutique resort in the 2900 block of Myrtle Beach twice. I specifically requested to not have the room at the south end of the hotel. The view is not ocean front there is however a perfect view of the ghetto balconies of the hotel next door you have to keep the curtains drawn at all times because there is no privacy in the living room of this suite. We were greeted by dusty furniture, bugs in the kitchen and used Kleenexes shoved back into the Kleenex box left in the bathroom. This hotel does not work on a boiler system, there is a 38 gallon electric water heater inside the actual unit. If I want to run out of hot water I would have taken a shower at home. don’t stay here.

Have stayed here many times for winter golf trips. For the price, it’s just ok. Rooms are a little small but always clean. There can be issues with the plumbing and equipment, but management always resolves it fairly fast. Breakfast buffet is sort of questionable, serving spoiled fruit and low quality institutional type food, and weak coffee. But the«breakfast ladies» are great, providing fast service with a smile.

The view and the kids play pool is the only two things I liked about my week stay here. Look at the pictures I posted. The rooms are dirty and the wifi is pathetic! I will never stay here again.

The location is great! The pools and beach are beautiful! The staff is attentive and friendly. For the price this hotel is ok, but not for anyone looking to relax. The walls are so incredibly thin, that from 9 pm until 11 pm while your neighbors are pregaming for their night out you can hear them screaming each shot challenge to one another. So you fall asleep around 11:30 pm, only to be awoken a few hours later when they stumble home, screaming, yelling and carrying on. The doors slam so hard and loud the neighboring rooms shake. While our room was very clean, the work of the housekeeping and maintenance staff is never done. We witnessed guests destroying signage in the lobby and another guest kick out the glass on the parking garage elevator door. We stayed at another local hotel earlier in the week and decided to extend our vacation a few days and booked The Breakers last minute. While our first hotel was in a completely different«class» they still had visible security walking around, monitoring and engaging guests to make their presence know, I suggest this to The Breakers, it would improve your guests and employees experience.

From when we first hopped on the shuttle bus, we were greeted with smiling faces and very friendly staff. As we walked in, the resort asked what the occasion was we told them we are here for our honeymoon and they upgraded our room to a super suite at the Palms building on the 14th floor. Our view was stunning the room was nice, and our overall stay was so perfect. My wife and I plan on coming back in 6 months to a year.

Stayed with my husband and 2 kids. They upgraded our room! Which is awesome. Nice sized king bed but kinda uncomfortable. Kids slept on pull out sofa bed. House cleaning was on top of it. Room was kinda dirty but we got a great deal so I wasn’t really pressed. Overall good stay!

«Hey sweetheart, I have a great idea! I know you’ve been driving for 4 hours straight, but why don’t we keep going all the way to Myrtle Beach so that we we’ll be right near the airport in the morning! Aren’t I smart?» — Evan R. We were told to check into the North Tower. We drove to the North Tower and were told by a 19 year old with a Europa-sized watch that we need to go to the main tower. As I wondered what size douche container he would fit in, we drove to the main tower. Two people were parked diagonally, so we had to leave the car in the middle of the driveway and go to the front desk. «What is your name? Good. Here is your room key. You get two room keys. Do not lose your room keys. Here is your DVD ticket. Place this in the DVD machine if you want a DVD. If you want another DVD please pay for the DVD. Here is your welcome ticket. Give it to the concierge. You will get a welcome packet. Here is your coupon for a Medieval Times discount. Go to Medieval Times. Here are your wristbands for the pool. Wear them to get into the pool. If you are in the pool and do not wear them, you will be kicked out of the pool. Do not lose the bracelets and give them back. If you do not give them back, you owe us $ 1/bracelet. Do not try to check out late. There are no late checkouts. Have a great stay!» We then walked over to the concierge(who looks vaguely like McLovin) and asked him somewhere good to go eat. He looked up from his papers, arched an eyebrow, and said to us, «Do you like to party?» I moved to stand between him and the missus. We followed their instructions to find the room. They gave us bad instructions; we were in the wrong building. Found the right building and opened the door. Oh my. The décor looks like the 1970 Marge Simpson collection from JC Penney. The walls alternated between lime-neon green and bright blue. The bedspread and curtains seemed intentionally designed to precipitate a holocaust of the epileptic community. We could hear everyone down at the pool and beach from our 9th floor room with the door closed. There was a kitchenette, which is never a good idea to give to people who want to light themselves on fire. I must admit that some of my scorn is not just for the hotel itself, and its unfriendly staff, but for the general atmosphere and clientele. Myrtle Beach appears to be beautiful, and on our way down we passed multiple stately southern homes. However, the strip looks like what would happen if Atlantic City violently took New Orleans sexually behind a dumpster. Everyone walking down the street seemed to be competing to see what they could display more: their cigarettes, their stomachs, or their breasts. And that’s just the men. I love beach strips, I love the South, I love resort towns, and I enjoyed the spring break scene when I was younger, but this was one of the most boorish, uncivilized and messes of humanity I have ever seen. Everyone who goes is here is worse off having done so. I award The Breakers no points, I apologize for suggesting we drive here, and may God have mercy on their soul. PS — Great beach access!
