Perfect place to go for good sandwiches and bar food. Really friendly server and nice atmosphere. Reasonably priced. Nice to be away from the traffic and chaos of the Broadway on the Beach area. Tri fries are unique and tasty. Rolls are delicious. Large portions.

Maybe Thorny’s is a different experience from time to time… the time I went to dinner with my man was superb. Everything was just delicious. We got the steaks and ribs plate with the tri-fries… which are 3 different kinds of fries: waffle, wedge, and curly fries. The fries I didn’t care for much because I like shoestring fries, but I can definitely see the appeal for others. Variety is always a good thing. Our steaks were perfectly cooked and the ribs fell off the bone. The coleslaw was tangy and crunchy. We were seated in a booth which was comfortable and intimate. Our server was friendly and attentive. Really you can’t ask for much more from a restaurant. Great time.

We use to love coming here when we visited Myrtle Beach, but it seems like there may be new management. The menu has changed and it doesn’t give you a lot of options. You only have three choices for steak, as well as three choices for seafood. I ordered the sautéed shrimp, which came lukewarm and very rubbery. They gave me the wrong side and then didn’t give the coleslaw. My mother ordered their steak, which also came lukewarm and not medium-well. The waitress was nice, but pregnant and she kept rubbing her belly. After the drinks, food, and tip we spent 70 dollars and we decided that next time we would just eat at chick fil a. This is now marked off our list— sigh.

I’ve been coming here once a month once every other month since last August. I was able to watch their lounge transform into a beautiful bar. The work they’ve done in the lounge and bar area really makes it feel more welcoming and can absolutely accommodate more people. I’m never really impressed by the waitresses or the host team– see them on their phones a lot complaining about lack of business also rolling their eyes at bar guests who want to sit at the bar not a table. But are a couple of bartenders I keep coming back for; Carol Ann being one of them. She may not remember my name but she always remembers what I drink and can anticipate my pace of meal! The food tends to be kind of spotty; sometimes it’s great sometimes it’s OK so I always try to get it of the happy hour menu. The bar is always clean and tidy, the glassware is always sparkling, great place to bring friends and family from out of town. The menu was well thought out and the prices are perfect. Average menu items with a bit of a twist and lots of drinks to choose from. Featured draft beers, bottled beers, sodas and cocktails leaves you with endless choices. I have to admit I never make it to desert the portions are worth the value! If this is your first time in town or your 10th visit make this part of your Myrtle Beach tradition.

We try to come here whenever we’re in town. I had Rivertown chicken plate(cheese and bacon) with loaded baked potato and salad… it was delicious… we also had onion rings and jalapeños for our appetizers

Went in during spring break. There was a small wait. They had a great kids area. Lots of room for large parties. The service was good. Our server got sat with a large party that was taking up her time and the other servers came over to help and were very friendly. The kids portions were a good size. Prices are fairly cheap for a restaurant on the beach in a tourist town. We would definitely return.

Love the atmosphere here! Nice sports bar, plenty of tvs so you can enjoy your game from any angle and spot. Bahama Mama was amazing and food was good too!

Less than appetizing. The games were fun. The rolls were flat and the clam chowder was super salty. Won’t go back because the menu didn’t have anything that looked good. They say they are a steak house but they only have two types of steak.

I order a swiss burger however it was a little more pink than I perfered… I call the manager however they were already close. it was only a little after 9 and he advised me they closed at 830… thank goodness we paid half cash and card and the manager credit the card. He did offer to make another burger if they were not closing… The food did look amazing but after biting into the burger and seeing all that pink I had no desire to eat and now I’m hungry… oh well… I would go back and give them another chance however management stated that they will be closed the next couple of days… but oh well.

We came in for dinner and a couple drinks. After waiting outside this impressively big place for about 10 minutes we were seated in an agreeable location. There were not a lot of people there so initially I wondered why there was a wait, but it was the day of New Year’s Eve so I can imagine there were not many servers working. I honestly thought this place was a sports bar before coming in, and while they do have loads of tv’s everywhere, I was pleasantly surprised to get pretty good food. I and two of my friends all got the Roadrunner sandwich(grilled chicken honey mustard cheese stuff). Give that a 4⁄5. The side salad was pretty standard, above average portions, included chopped real bacon, egg, croutons, AND cheese which was pretty sweet too. Salad and sandwich was about $ 13 give or take a buck. There were at least 20 domestic, craft, and import beers on tap and My Sweetwater blue was $ 4.50 I believe and then 2.75 for my next yuengling, which I feel both are very fair. Both beers were very enjoyable and satisfying. I would give thorny’s a 3 for the overall experience, but 4⁄5 if not our small problems with the waitress; if she had been an average server it would have been a 4. She was young and very nice, but didn’t really suggest anything even after not really being around our table for at least 7 minutes after we sat down, and then wasn’t really around until after we finished eating. Also, there was thrice that we tried to say something when she was about to turn to walk away and she didn’t hear, but she may have just been hard of hearing and this isn’t a reflection of her ability as a server or the restaurant. The only suggestion I would have is about the menu is that there are only 4 different sides; steamed vegetables of the day, broccoli(I think), some sort of potato thing and then the Thorny’s Tri-fries(or something like that, they were the kind of Arby’s curly fries without being curly, more traditional fries, and potato wedges together) on almost every thing. I would add at least a couple more sides, even if they are just more various forms of potatoes. Tipped her 20% like I always do unless a waiter/waitress does something intentionally un-server like.

So ok I’ve built up this place in my mind because of billboards first off they apparently can’t cook a burger medium… second my burger barely covered the bun it was on but I’ll say I ate it with discontent because of how hungry I was… my wife order a chicken dish… for $ 14 you would think it would be a semi decent portion of chicken… hardly…she got chicken Alfredo as a side I thought they had forgotten her chicken… the pasta was mediocre at best and her chicken dish I could make at home and not only that i am 100% sure I could make it better and faster! We did have fried pickles that were pretty good besides being a hair dried out but they were spears and we are fried pickle chip people… now understanding it’s a holiday the service is good but the wait was less than desirable we almost ate Chinese and probably should have… id give it 2 stars and I’m being generous

We ordered a full rack of ribs and just as we were hooping — they were absolutely delicious. The sauce was great, the meat was tender and very, very good. Service was amazing… quick and attentive. Kids get their meals delivered on a frisbee — which my daughter loved and played with on a beach the next day. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting MB.

Ribs were good, ribeye could have been better, but the chicken Alfredo was terrible!!! Otherwise good service and fast delivery of food to the table. Get the loaded potato soup!!! It is amazing.

We stopped in here because of their name. We just HAD to eat here to see what it was like. The wait for a table wasn’t that long for the amount of people that were ahead of us. I ordered the fish & chips. Fish was very good and the tarter sauce was very tasty. there were a lot of fries! My husband ordered the hamburger… he says it was average in flavor, but the price you pay for it was above average. He is very particular about his BBQ sauce and didn’t care for theirs. It has a chili flavor, which was good with the fries(chips).

I’m going to give this place two stars because there was a very nice waiter that was extremely helpful. This could have been a better experience with a different waitress. The rest of the experience was a disappointment at best. I think we saw our waitress maybe twice… I’m going to hope she was new because no one should be that bad at their job. She never took dishes away unless we directly gave them to her. She never gave us a refill, again, unless we directly asked. When our food took over 30 minutes to get to is, she never once came by to let us know what was happening, which is why we had to flag down the other waiter. Nor did she apologize for the delay or her lack of presence at the table. Waitstaff 101. The food was lackluster at best. If you are looking for a copycat Logan’s Roadhouse or place of that sort, then you will love the food here. Too much salt and not enough actual flavor to hold their own against any real steakhouse. Purchased the prime rib and it wasn’t terrible. The food could have been saved had the service not been terrible. I had to ask for a manager twice and never once saw one. Maybe he was too busy in the back hanging out with our waitress, but that’s just nasty gossip. Don’t get the prime rib, go for the steak. Based on what the rest of my party said, the chicken was a little dry and the ribs were good. Skip it and go elsewhere. There are too many other good restaurants on the grandstand to waste your time with this overpriced and underperforming place. PS with the kids meal you get a free frisbee… that’s positive in a way.

Food was pretty good, but a little pricey. I disagree with the earlier review about the salads, not only was mine fresh, but it was probably the best house salad I had on my trip. See the pics for my thoughts on the steak and ribs. Good place to bring kids and the fried mushrooms were good. I would return, recommend getting there for an early dinner it got crowded as we finished
