We were there on the Saturday night of MLK weekend. Small dining room and loud(we were seated right by karaōke set up. Drinks were good. Food was good. We tried the garlic parm wings and the mild buffalo wings. Friends weren’t fans of the mild wings which they thought we hotter than mild. Some of them were missing sauce. We also had the pulled pork mac and cheese. Great smokey flavor on the pulled pork. Karaōke was fun until a fight broke out, but I have to hand it to the waitresses. They handled it just as well as any bouncer! Got quiet after that and unfortunately, they cut the karaōke short.

When Wes was on the scene the service was the best. However when he left it became a college friends/kids only place… anyone else was ignored and not made to feel welcome-which is a shame. The crawfish/corn chowder was great, the wings were good as well. My GF had a taco salad and the overall feeling was mushy. The taco shell tasted like old refrigerator. I ordered a voodoo chicken wrap which advertised as a crispy chicken breast with spices and bleu cheese, what I got was cold chunks of grilled? microwaved chicken. Our waiter decided to cut his work in half trivia night and sat down at a table with friends-shift over I guess? We did get service finally but my GF waited for about 20 minutes with an empty drink. Other patrons just walked to the bar. Wes was worth the repeat business any day of the week! But when the Millennial crew takes over it is time to leave. Yaay Wes! You made our 3 days at Voodoo a fond remembrance, we’ll be back.

Great dive bar off the main streets of Mystic. The drinks were solid and the waitress had a nice pour. We went on a Saturday around 7:00 pm before a 8:30 pm dinner reservation. By the time we left the place was packed, there was a live band that started at 9:00 pm. The bar/restaurant area is very tiny and I could not imagine how loud it must get with the music. If I was in the area, I would go back, just not on live music night.

I had a bad experience however I cannot say that Voodoo Grill was awful. The Mac’n’cheese was good, and so was the not so jerk, jerk chicken sandwich; My Jambalaya didn’t cut it for some reason, I was not pleased at all. The alligator tail wasn’t bad but chewy as heck, nothing really jumped out and said come here again. I’d think it was a cool place to catch a football game but the TV’s weren’t large enough to see the score and they weren’t exactly up to date either. The waitress was kind enough to take off the price of my Jambalaya as well, which I didn’t expect at all. Friendly and decent enough, just not for me.

This is a place you definitely have to go to if your in the area. Some Cajun influence that you don’t normally find up north!

Mixed drinks made with the cheapest vodka out there. Tasted cheap too. Were told if we were just having drinks outside we had to sit off the deck in the smoking area… don’t waste your time, unless you like an unclean college bar vibe… Needs a bar make over BAD…

Went for happy hour, ordered the claw chicken bbq flavor, 12 wings spicy, beef nachos and catfish sliders. Was not a fan of the chicken claws. Wings were okay considering it was 50cent each, add the blue cheese and celery. Beef nacho presentation wasnt great, it was covered with a bunch of green lettuce. Didnt even eat half the nachos, wasnt great. Catfish sliders were good. Bf liked the sauce and i like the flavor in the batter. If i were to return again i would just order the wings to go with my drinks.

Very nice, fun place with outdoor seating. We decided to sit inside at the bar. The bartender/owner Wes was very friendly. We had a nice meal. The quesadillas were stuffed full. The wings were meaty and spicy. We will definitely return again when back in Mystic.

Excellent service. We called 15 minutes earlier for a table for 7 and our table was ready(complete with kids menus) when we arrived. The food was great, but it is spicy so keep that in mind. The Kid’s menu is robust and the three separate entries our littles had were delicious. If you’re in the mood for Cajun food, I recommend!

was okay food, nothing special very loud and hot waitress was kind but hurried and didn’t give enough attention. I would have had another drink, but bill was placed on table after we declined dessert

This place gets 4 stars on its pet-friendly outdoor seating and great service alone. But the food and beer is decent as well. I highly recommend this place. We arrived with our dog. They not only allowed us to eat on the patio out back — they filled a dog bowl with fresh water.

For being Connecticut. i give it 3 stars. Try the corn chowder it was solid. Po’boys were good too. But I was so disappointed with the actual cajun/creole food. Im certain the chef has no clue what jambalaya or Étouffée is. Jambalaya here was real tasty but not at all traditional. Andouille was legit, but the«creole sauce» topping it was a can of diced tomatoes with too much cayenne.

Quaint little place. Good beer. I asked the waitress what would be the number one dish they have. The type that if I was only going to get 1 chance to eat there… pulled pork. I thought that was strange for a Cajun joint. It was goodish. Kinda dissapointed. I should’ve tried something else.

Why did this have to happen? My favorite haunt in mystic and it has never failed me. Until the other day. Went with my daughter and wife. Daughter wanted ginger ale. She got a Shirley temple. Not the end of the world. Except we didn’t get the ginger ale. Then I ordered the gumbo. All it was was chicken veggie soup with rice and sausage. Tasty but not gumbo After all my trips I am done visiting. See ya voodoo.

We go to Voodoo grill often. Service is great, never had a problem. Food is excellent and very tasty and very close to authenticity being that I lived on the Gulf of Mexico for quite a few years and ate a lot of Cajun and Creole food. Love the zydeco music in the background. Highly reccomend the po-boy, jambalaya, and the fried cat fish with hush puppys. My wife loved the chicken fajita wrap. The only con that I have is that the fried gator bites are way to small almost like crumbs.

We went here after going to the sub base which was awesome. We were lucky enough to see a sub leaving port but the Nautilus was worth more than the price(free). Service was just fine, not sure of what the others are complaining about, probably self important twits. That’s fine, it takes all kinds. We loved the food. What is to complain about? Was it the Waldorf? I don’t know! We are average people and we loved this place. The Onion Rings are greasy but out of this world. The smoked brisket was outstanding. Recommend highly. But is a bar so if you are a snob, skip it. Ha!

We ended up at this hole in the wall only because Margarita’s was closed. The good: Southwest fajita wrap was delicious. The bad: The service. They’re either too cheap to have a waitress on a Monday lunch in the Summer or she didn’t show up. The bartender, an older man(potentially the owner?) waited on us and there was a teenager running ragged to the 6 tables in the restaurant. I wondered if he was cooking and running? They forgot my daughter’s grilled cheese which I mentioned when they brought our food. 10 minutes later, we asked how it was coming and the bartender just about bit our head off saying«the grill is backed up». We got it as everyone else finished their meals. Had to walk up to the bar to ask for refills. I get it– you don’t want to wait tables. The place is way over priced and needs a good cleaning. Now I know why they were so dead in the middle of Summer in touristy Mystic. We won’t be back!

Disappointed. First things first. We are walking in and our waitress is outside smoking a cigarette. She comes inside and seats us. I didn’t wash her hands. Ew! We ordered an app for happy hour $ 5 chicken nachos. They show up soggy and most of the melted cheese was not on too of the chips but on the paper in the basket. That was then topped with enough lettus for a small salad. My hubby ordered a blue moon from the happy hour menu. Draft. She shows up with a bottle and says they don’t carry the draft anymore. Bottles are not included in the happy hour specials. Our entrees show up. I got jambalaya. It was overly spicy. No flavor just spice. Hubby got the sampler type plate and didn’t like the sausage either. The only thing I liked was the corn bread. Unimpressed.

Love this place. Portions are huge. Prices are more than fair for downtown mystic. Ive had many menue items but my go to is the corn & crawfish chowder. It’s amazing. The chicken wings are delicious, try the sweet chili. Was very tasty. My hubby had the cheese burger. Cooked perfectly BTW. I am a local & this is one of my favorite places. You MUST go & have the chowder… Do it. NOW! :)
