Stopped by on a nice warm Memorial weekend. Area was. Erg busy, had an nice dinner, here are my nktes: 1– Service was friendly and nice. But the server takes long to come back. Also, will ask if we needed more water, the only Jong I was drinking at the time, please just refill the water. 2– The recommended watermelon salad. Was to die for. Wow. 3– The eggplant pizza was ok, just a fat bread, not as good as I thought. 4– The yellow fin was very good. 5– two of us went to restroom and no soap, both times told the manage, he said he will get on it, but I ink never did. We used the other restroom. 6– desserts were great, the lemon one and the chocolate lava, both done well. 7– place a bit loud, but not bad at all, it’s also right on Main Street, nice. Too a very long time to get our check, I had to go and get our server. Will be back again.

Made reservations for dinner at 7:00 the morning of– no problem. Biggest issue was parking, ended up on the other side of the bridge on a side street but it was a beautiful evening and we had time to sit on the wharf and enjoy the day and people watch. Arrived at Azu about 15 minutes early but were seated immediately. Surprisingly it was not full but we noted on the way out at 8:00 most tables were now occupied. Waitstaff was friendly and appropriately attentative. I ordered the grapefruit marguerite which was good and fresh, daughter ordered the citrus lemonade which was light and refreshing. Husband ordered a draft IPA which he liked. My daughter and I opted for 2 small plates– pulled pork sliders and lobster mac and cheese. Plenty for the 2 of us with a slider to bring home and husband finishing the mac and cheese. We both have smallish appetites but given what was left over it should be enough for 2 diners with normal appetites. Husband had shrimp with linguine. All the seafood was cooked to perfection! Sliders had a bit of heat which made them tasty and flavorful, pork nice and tender. While the French fries appeared to be nothing special, they were awesome! Crispy, hot and delicious. I love the small plate option and there are plenty to choose from! Great meal, glad we made reservations as mid April downtown Mystic was hopping. Be sure to build parking time into your trip.

Okay, as a last resort we gave this place another try. When we first walked in the place was pretty empty, so I wasn’t holding my breath that we would have a good experience. But, to my surprise, the food was really, really good. They even made my all-time favorite lobster fritters for me even though they were not on the menu, and they were better than ever!!! By the time we left the place had filled up. The service was much better. The only negative is, they are redecorating, and the update is outdated!!! They’re choosing cool colors, rather than warm, cozy, inviting colors. They blue they’re going with works for a bedroom, but NOT a place that you want to eat. Blue doesn’t evoke fun, laughter, and cheer. Blue is mellow, calm and cold. I’d rethink the décor update. I’m available if you need a decorator. Lol

Excellent. Great service. Varied menu with lots of options Great food especially the cheese fries and nachos. Fresh ingredients on the nachos made them different than most others.

I recently went on a date here and just had an incredible experience. The staff was friendly, the environment was comfortable and the ambiance. I ordered 2 blue moons and my date ordered 2 sam adams, and the bill came out to be $ 21.71. Very reasonable. I definitely would recommend this place if you’re a mature person and want to avoid the riffraff

Started great. Hostess was cordial, very helpful informing us of the timing regarding breakfast vs lunch as we came right during the shift change. Very accommodating. Décor was tasteful and seats nice. Menu had lots to choose from, something for everyone. Waitress also very cordial, prompt and straightforward. Looked like we were in for a fantastic time… So why the three stars you ask??? When we received our order one sandwich was lagging behind. She first said to us it would be just a few minutes, but that turned into like 8 – 10 min. The waitress copped to forgetting to put it in. Okay. I get it. But when everyone else was done and then the sandwich came and he had to eat by himself… they ruined the experience by 1 not taking care of him by giving him something quick like a salad to eat while everyone else ate or 2 not taking it off the bill… sigh…

Fantastic fun! We visited on a whim on a sunday… FREEBINGO at happy hour(4 to 6). The $ 5 menu selection was appropriate. The fish and chips were perfect and served in a pail. The fries are shoestring and GF! The pork tacos were GF and generous. Delightful. The wings were pretty good(try the FISH!) I had the signature cocktail but I can’t recall the name of it. Very sweet, nice. The lava cake? GF and enough for TWO… so…SHARE! Very attentive waitstaff… helpful and smiling, too. The bartender had a froggy voice but called the bingo numbers with good fun. I think he said it was his first time. A fun, fun, fun afternoon happy hour. We plan on making this as regular as our schedules allow.

Arrived with about a half hour left for happy hour. Happy hour prices are really good, beer selection limited but $ 2.50 corona and Sam Adams! Had the loaded fries, cheesesteak quesadillas, and mini burgers, all under under happy hour and all good. Fries were cooked well, as were quesadillas and burger. Great taste, not special but very good. Service was fast and friendly, fairly crowded for a sunday.

Disclaimer* we didn’t actually eat here. We drove 2 hours on our way home from salem mass to this place because we saw great reviews and food pics only to find out that they didn’t have a lunch menu available at 11:30 for us only breakfast and eggs. The waiter said«I’m sorry I wish I could get you that menu but it starts at 12» well thanks for the bathroom break and the free water as we left…

Great atmosphere, great service and great food. We had an incredible waitress and gave us great tip on things to see. She even called her dad for the address of a beach for us to see. They could use a bit more choices for vegetarians, don’t let that stop you. It’s a great place.

I loved Azu! In Mystic for a week on a work trip, this restaurant was recommended by our client, so we had to try it. I wasn’t drinking, but our server offered to make virgin drinks, so I got a virgin cucumber mojito which was delicious and refreshing. The bread basket was good, served with olive oil, but I tried to save room for my meal. I got the caprese chicken which was delicious but huge! Like, 2 chicken breasts. I could only finish about half but what I had was very good, perfect for fans of caprese salad or chicken parm. My coworkers both got the lobster risotto, which they said was delicious but very rich. They said they would have been better off ordering one to share. Our very cute, very muscular waiter also added to the experience — we were the only crowd of 20-something’s there who weren’t on a date, so he hung out with us for a bit, which was nice. Overall, I highly recommend Azu!

Came for lunch. Was busy but didn’t have to wait for a table. Seating near the open windows seemed nice at first however the traffic was noisy and no screens meant constant flies! Ordered a smoked salmon sandwich which was $ 14 but came only with chips as a side. Service was slow and the waitress had to be reminded a few times about our drink order to get anything else besides water. When the food arrived, my sandwich was soggy as if it had been sitting for a while. Overall I wouldn’t come back, slow service, sub par food and open windows led to a loud, dirty bug infested lunch.

My friend and I stopped in for happy hour yesterday. Nice space, friendly service. The beer specials for happy hour are good, half off the regular price. The bar bites prices are ridiculous, both for happy hour and the regular prices. We were charged $ 8 for 4 small chicken wings, and that was the happy hour price. No excuse for that. How cheap are chicken wings to make? very. The regular bar bites prices are about $ 12+. If you want chicken nachos, that will be $ 20. I am used to going to nice places in Boston and Providence and this was just absurd. We also observed what people around us ordered, tiny portions of very overpriced food. The place is nice but I won’t be coming back for anything other than beer at happy hour, if that. Management blatantly ripping people off leaves a bad taste in my mouth

Stopped in for lunch while in Mystic for the weekend. We split two appetizers and my boyfriend also had soup. lobster mac & cheese — above average clam chowder — average quesadilla — below average The lobster mac & cheese was definitely the best part of our meal. It was so good. although a little pricey for the size.

A great meal, in a beautiful setting, makes me one happy girl. After a full day taking in Mystic, we stopped by here after hearing good things from family who had been here before. I was enchanted by the minimalist feeling of the décor with big, whimsical monkey prints. Adorbs. Service was good and we were seated and served quickly. The calamari and hot pepper starter was fried perfectly and had just the right amount of saltiness and was served with really tasty aioli. I also loved that they served complimentary cubes of focaccia with dipping oil & vinegar. Very tasty and it was hard not to fill up too much before our entrees. I was glad I left room because my oyster po’boy was banging. I also really liked the crispy chicken sandwich my husband ordered. Prices are a little on the higher side, for the portions, but other than that I don’t have a bad thing to say. Definitely consider stopping by here if you’ve got the munchies!

Azu is definitely one of my family’s favorite restaurants. We’ve mostly had great service minus one surreal disaster of a time during Sunday brunch. I’m a fan of warm bread for starters & Azu doesn’t disappoint. It’s got a great crust & is soft inside. They don’t have an extensive beer menu but it’s still solid. I haven’t tried their martinis but they have an interesting list. We usually take our children(age 14&3) there especially when my 3 year old demands we go to the«monkey» place since there’s paintings of monkeys hanging up inside. The children’s menu is decent & my son usually eats pizza or chicken fingers. They are definitely a step up from most kid’s offerings. The regular menu is diverse but I usually stick to their small bites. After starting out with their awesome nachos I try their risotto special which changes daily. The cheeseburger or pulled pork sliders are pretty good too. It just depends what I’m in the mood for but everything I’ve sampled has been good. Azu is separated into two areas: bar & dining. When it’s the whole family we’re definitely in the dining area. The place is usually buzzing but it doesn’t seem too hectic. The bar draws a decent crowd for happy hour & I’ve been there for late night drinks & desert before. It’s definitely a happening place. As most reviewers mention, the lobster mac & cheese is the best! Plenty of lobster & gooey swiss cheese. For $ 17 you do get your money’s worth even for an appetizer. My wife loves it & orders it every time. If I’m lucky she even lets me finish it after she gets her fill!
