Great meal at a reasonable price. Good selection in the menu(food and drink). Service was courteous and provided great recommendations. However was a bit slow, otherwise would have given 5 stars. Strongly recommend. We will be back. Recommend reservations — we used Unilocal to make ours and it was seamless.

Cool wine pub in the heart of downtown. Not sure why they call it a wine pub, it didn’t really have that feeling. They do have a lot of exposed original brick in the restaurant and an area in the back where musicians come and sing. I came during lunch and ordered the«Best Burger» and German nachos. I didnt think it was the best by any means, but its a good burger. The burger is a gourmet type version and is pretty juicy with a sourdough bun. This is a fresh patty, with sharp cheddar, although it came with white cheese, bacon and fresh toppings. Many of their sandwiches come with their homemade potato chips. Of course the German nachos also come with their chips, not normal tortillas chips. This was a good side, but it got cold pretty quickly after bringing it to the table. A lot of people complain about their prices, but coming from Houston, I didn’t see anything that was too outrageous. Fried Green Tomatoes and a beer, or Honey Nut Baked Brie and a glass of Pinot Noir? You can have either at this stylishly updated Main St. wine bar. Downtown location fronting brick-paved street. Plenty of street parking or large free lot directly across the street. Grab a cozy table, or pick a spot at the large bar. My family and I have been several times for brunch and late-evening wine /drinks and cheese platter /appetizers when visiting our daughter attending SFA. While the draft beer selection is limited, they do offer over 40 bottled beers and a decent wine list. Full bar with seasonal craft cocktail offerings. Service overall has been very good each time, but I have noted they tend to be a little slow /unprepared off the start at opening time on weekend brunches, so expect to be a little patient. All of the food we have tried was good(excellent in light of Nac’s limited offerings), but don’t expect to be wowed. Bright spots are the $ 12 pitchers of Mimosas, Honey Nut Baked Brie app, Shrimp and Grits, Shepherd’s Pie, Apple Dumpling, the Godiva Double Chocolate Cheesecake and the frequent live music. Have tried the Pan Seared Salmon twice and was slightly overcooked both times. The Chicken Marsala was not my style — a breaded /fried chicken cutlet with a spoonful of marginal Marsala-flavored sauce on top. Go for the atmosphere, the wine /drinks, and enjoy a great place to celebrate and visit with friends.

Three or four people separately recommended The Liberty Bell for dinner on a recent trip to Nacgodoches. I’m glad they did — it’s a nice environment, with a great mix of people enjoying live music and a large, well-curated food and drink menu. Our server was super nice and happy to recommend items from the menu. We ended up sharing German nachos, pretzels, an order of Brad’s pasta and a glass of the house red. Everything was good, and we only wished we had more room or time to try more of the menu!
