We rented jet skis and a pontoon boat from this location during our trip to Outer Banks. We loved looking around the shop, even bought a few things. Both the jet skis and pontoon boats were a great time. There is a lot of room to go on the boat but on the jet skis you can only go within their limits. We took kids ages 5 months to 13 years and everyone had a blast. The only thing we would have done differently is rented the pontoon longer, we spent 2 hours on it and could’ve easily made it an all day trip.

Our family took a dolphin tour today and had a fantastic experience. Our guide was extremely knowledgable about all the dolphin we saw. She also had the children on board help collect data-​water temp, air temp, etc. It was well worth the nominal cost and we will definitely visit again to see the dolphin of the Outer Banks.

Make sure you call ahead and make an appointment. We stopped in on a Tuesday afternoon and asked about dolphin rides for Wednesday. The staff advised boat times are 10 am, 1 pm, and 4 pm, nothing was mentioned about booking while we were there. We returned the next day Wednesday for the 1 pm boat and was advised they were booked the remainder of the week. Thanks for wasting our time, gas, and wasted trip up the beach.

Great place to try out gear and rent equipment. The staff is knowledgeable and will show you how to use the equipment and make suggestions. I worked with Alex at the whalebone location. My family went there for jet skis and paddle boards. You can rent by the hour or by the day. If it’s your first time try hourly. Either way way have a blast!

The place is a bit old and needs some maintenance — but if you are looking for kitteboarding lessons — this THE place to go. Ask for Will Brooks, Dr Bob or Glen and tell them Marko send you ;)

Great kayaking area for kids, shallow waters and good bird viewing on the marshes.
Grandparents went jet-​skiing, mild waters for them.

HORRIBLE jet skiing area. The total area that you are allowed to ride in is about a ½ of a square mile. On top of that it started to thunder and lightning while we were riding and were cut off at 45 min and even though we paid for an hour were not offered any money back or a chance to wait out the storm. I WOULD NOT recommend coming to this location. There has got to be 100 better places to jet ski… including my swimming pool.
