The Wife, the Tax Deduction and I were headed to Nampa, Idaho to surprise my Mom for her 80th birthday. As we rolled down Highway 84 like thunder in the mighty Unilocalmobile we kept in touch with the Official Brother of this Elite Unilocal Squad Member trying to figure out the perfect ambush spot, because what spells love for your 80 year old Mom than shocking her in a public place. After several false alarms he finally told us to meet at the Burnt Lemon. Burnt lemons? Using the Unilocal app on our smarter than us phones, we found the place easily, parked in the back and snuck in the side door waiting for the Bro and The Mom. We stood there waiting to get recognized and then the magic happened, hugs, kisses, shock, awe, it was worth driving 430 miles for. We turned our attention to the restaurant. Turns out the genesis of the name for the place is that they grill their lemons before they make their famous lemonade available in traditional flavor and about any other flavor you can imagine with lemon and some you can’t. Among our group of five we ordered all manner of kinds of food. I went with a pulled pork sandwich, the Tax Deduction went with a bacon cheeseburger, the Bro went with a mexican dish and every darn thing we touched was amazing. The prices were more than reasonable for what you got too. Usually you see such a diverse menu and you think they can’t do it all great, but so far, they have. To top it off the staff was amazing and nice and fast. I can’t wait to come back and try more of their amazing food and lemonades!

Congratulations Caldwell… finally a place to go get an excellent variety of really, seriously really good, tasty food that’s not a chain, or someone serving the same ol burgers and fries, or mystery meat tacos. There is nothing on this menu that you’ll find exactly at any other place. Each menu item is unique and the owners have added a nice tasty twist to each item, If your hungry enough and brave enough try the; Burnt Lemon Belly Buster: 3 patties, pastrami, bell peppers, mushrooms, bacon, onion rings, jack & American cheese, BBQ sauce, Cajun, pickle, tomato, lettuce, mayo. I don’t know how they make their fries, but they should be called«I can’t get enough»…and of course top it off with their signature Burnt Lemon Lemonade. I went for the original thing, but they have a whole list of flavors you can add. We came in with my son, his family and all the rest of ‘the family’ most everybody tried something different and my daughter even asked for a ‘surprise sand’ which was better than anything she had ever tasted before… John the manager, I consider a ‘foodie’ he knows good food and they nailed it here… We’ll definitely be back!!!

Yum! I ordered the Chipotle Pork Fries. So good. Topped with red onion and cilantro. Great flavors. The place is sorta dead when it should be busy. Saturday night there was only myself and one other table sat. No reason it should be dead… probably just undiscovered. Delicious food!

C’mon, how can you not stop at an eatery named«Burnt Lemon Grill?» At the very least, you know that they are going to make killer lemonade. We just wanted a light bite for dinner and decided to stop in to check out the menu. BLG has a large selection of sandwiches both cold and hot. Since moving from the East Coast, I’ve had a hankering for a Philly cheesesteak sandwich. This one did not disappoint. A nice sized bun is filled to the brim with thin slices of tender, grilled steak, onion, green pepper and melted cheese. My hub had the grilled chicken sandwich with fries and gave it a solid B+. The lemonade was really refreshing and you can add one of several flavorings. One suggestion: the place could use a thorough cleaning including the carpets and floor. It was a slow night, with staff standing around, yet several empty tables were left grimy. Burnt Lemon Grill is certainly a step up from fast food — made fresh to order. We plan on going back and trying the other menu items.

Tried Burnt Lemon in Nampa today for lunch. Can’t wait to go back and try more from their menu. I had the Crazy Bird Roll Up with tots and a lemonade. My friend had the Philly Sandwich with steak and fries. Both were delicious. The roll up said that it came with ranch, but I don’t think it was added to mine, and I’m so glad it wasn’t because it didn’t need it. The chicken was delicious and just a little spicy with the Pico de gallo. The tots were perfectly fried and crunchy. And I loved the lemonade. They serve beer also, which would have been great if I wasn’t headed back to work. My friend’s Philly sandwich looked delicious and I have a very good idea of what I will be ordering when I go next time. I forgot to ask her about her fries, but they were all gone, and she’s pretty picky so I’m thinking they were good. Very clean place, nice and fairly quick service, TVs with Sportscenter on, which for us was perfect. Nampa needs more places like this and less of the big chain fast food places.

Stopped in during«Happy Hour» and had the delicious sweet potato fries! The lemonaide was good but really sweet. It’s a great place to have a snack and drink with friends in an afternoon as they have ½ price drinks and appetizers at this time :)

Stopped in for lunch cause I’m a sucker for a really good fresh squeezed cup of lemonade. The lemonade was good, not the best I have ever had but good. For food I got the«Bragging Rights» burger and fries. The fries were food service fries but cooked perfectly. The burger was good as well, it was very fresh and the toppings were good. For a fast food place that isn’t a chain, it was good food. I would try them again if I was in the area but I wouldn’t drive from Boise for it. The restaurant was very tidy and clean which is always a bonus.
