Great food and helpful. We are vegetarian and vegan so they made us special veggies. I would highly recommend this place.

It was good! Quiet environment suited well for older people. The environment has an upscale/modern feel. I had Spanish shrimp, little necks + mussels and it was very flavorful. Tabbouleh and garlic fries sides were both great! My husband had the halibut and he loved it. Great presentation and the waiter was on point. My only reason for 4 vs 5 stars is that the food tasted a bit better at the Proprietor. Still excellent and worth every penny just a personal preference. We are a younger couple and like the spicier food better.

The menu has already changed since we were there a week ago! My sister ordered the Grilled Korean BBQ Shortribs and said it was the best meal she’s ever had. I ordered the pan seared chicken breast and it was so juicy and tender. Another person in our group ordered Spanish Shrimp, Little Necks + Mussels and said it was good, just a little too spicey. Cozy atmosphere and superb service!

The food was okish. However the table seating was not good. There was a toilet behind us, the door was regularly open. The service so, so. In Nantucket there are better restaurants, quality price wise, then Dune.

Outstanding meal from start to finish. Crispy rock shrimp tostada exploded with flavors. Pork chop was cooked to perfection. Dessert of warm sugar and cinnamon donut partnered with salted caramel and chocolate sauce was a great finish.

Well first, the staff is amazing. I came here with my Fiancé after we got engaged and the host was very kind and had two glasses of champagne sent to the table(romantic one in the corner). While that surprise was amazing, the food also was wonderful. From the salad to short ribs(delicious) to the risotto and steak it was an amazing meal all around. Thank you to Dune for making it a very special night!

It was rated #1 on Trip advisor so we gave it a shot. We were not disappointed! Their salad were fresh from the garden. Even though the price is high and the serving being very small, the chef did a wonderful job with mixing different ingredients for their delicious dishes.

Went here for dinner last night, very nice setting. We sat down and were joined by a bachelorette party of 20 and the room became very loud to the point one of us shushed the noise and a man from another table came over and not only thanked us, he bought us a bottle of wine! Food was ok and service was too, waiter was too busy.

Disappointing. The portions are small and it’s overpriced. I had the Korean short ribs. $ 32(ish) they were tough, flavorful but dry and not worth the price. Value isn’t there. I’ve had nice meals here before bit this wasn’t so good.

Dune is great because it’s got a funky menu. If you want to be surprised and delighted, look no further. If you’re looking for a classic meal and large portions and a comforting menu, keep lookin’. I do see why this place is so highly rated, though. It’s trendy and the chef knows what they’re doing in the kitchen.

The Dune IS open for lunch ladies and gentlemen! Best meals I have had on this island so far and we have hit a bunch! Service is prompt and friendly, drinks are great. I don’t normally give 5 stars but I think it is worthy!

Having a week in Nantucket, my husband and I were doing our best to experience all the great dining the island has to offer. I was excited to get dinner reservations at Dune after another local chef recommended it, but was incredibly disappointed to report how underwhelming and unsatisfying out meal was. The vibe gets high points — would have been a great date spot or girls night out — and the service was fine — I expect more attentiveness from fine dining — but the new American food was simply not good. Started with the oysters, 5 for $ 21, and they were the high point of the meal. The cucumber mignonette was a fresh compliment; I didn’t get any Bloody Mary in the Bloody Mary mignonette. They were shucked poorly, rookie mistake in a coastal town, so I kept having to discreetly get bits of shell out of my mouth. I’m glad the seafood ordered was the best part of the meal, given the location, but for that price I can get a dozen well-shucked oysters and a cocktail at home. For our main course, I had the miso glazed pork chop and hubby had the half chicken. I’ll admit we didn’t order seafood in a seafood town, but I still fully expect«land» meals to be amazing and was anxious to try the pineapple fried rice. Sadly, there was little miso taste in my pork, which was over cooked and dry. The black rice added a nutty texture, which may have been more palatable if it wasn’t drenched in a sweet sauce, resulting in what felt like undercooked, slimy pilaf with canned pineapple. I also ordered a side of roasted beets, because I love beets and cannot stay away from them, but found them to have an over-powering cinnamon flavor that belongs on apples, not beets. Hubby’s chicken was fine, but the toasted barley risotto was another soupy-yet-crunchy conundrum. Overall, we agreed the meal was conceptually intriguing but lacked the execution needed to make it what we hoped(and paid!) for — a romantic, delicious evening out. We skipped dessert and went for ice cream instead.

Had dinner at Dunes restaurant on August 10th2015. We were seated on the patio. I ordered the salmon dish. Halfway through my meal, I found a piece of sharp plastic in my food. I choked on it and spit it out, it cut my lip! We called over the executive chef and owner, and he said that this happens often. The second time this summer. This is frightening. Why didn’t they fix the problem the first time? I will never be eating at this restaurant again or recommending it to anyone.

I’ve eaten here twice, the last time four years ago, so I had high expectations for my recent return. The ambiance is nice and the staff friendly, but the food is why you must go. I wasn’t disappointed with my visit two days ago. The flavor combinations were lick-your-plate good, especially the duck confit — in a succulent broth, and the seared tuna on some sort of pesto panzanella — making for an unexpected crunch to go with perhaps the most tender tuna I’ve ever had.

Came here last summer with my girlfriend and were blown away. Came again this year and our expectations were exceeded. It’s my favorite restaurant on the island. The décor is beautiful, the service is top notch, the cocktails are great, and the food is incredible. My girlfriend had a dirty martini, and I had a Pisco cocktail with lemonade. The flavors in both were balanced perfectly, and each was equally refreshing. We had oysters, which were literally as fresh as could be. I also ordered the hoisin bbq duck confit ramen, and was left satisfied and craving more! For out entrees, my girlfriend ordered the pork chop, and it was definitely one of the best 3 pork chops I’ve ever tasted. It tasted like a prime or heritage pork chop, and the fingerlings that accompanied it tasted better than fries. For my entrée, I had a fresh tuna steak cooked rare. It cut like butter and was the best tuna I’ve ever had. The panzanella it came with was crunchy and added a nice contrast to the smoothness of the homemade mozzarella. Once again, Dune blew us away. It’s our go to spot now, and we’ll be here every year when we head back to the island! PS: NOONESHOULDTAKENICK G.‘S REVIEWSERIOUSLY. THEBATHROOMISAWAYFROMTHEDININGROOMANDNOTWITHIN20FTOFANYTABLES. My wife and I ate the following: Beef Carpaccio Oysters with mignonette sauces Green pea Risotto Donut dessert Marscapone cheesecake We drank: 2012 Flowers Chardonnay Fonseca Bin 27 port First off, our server was excellent, friendly and attentive. We decided to do a small plate mix and match instead of entrees. The oysters were to die for, fresh and delicious. The beef carpaccio was excellent, if not slightly over spiced(that is splitting hairs a bit). The green pea risotto was ok, but I’ve had better. The flowers Chardonnay was $ 109 a bottle, which is fair price I believe. Very nice wine list, good balance of prices. The dessert selections were fantastic, but the marscapone cheesecake is more like crème brûlée. Still awesome, but definitely not cheesecake. Also they have a good selection of dessert drinks and cocktails, which needs to be noted. Overall, a super solid place that’s worth a stop if you are near here. Oh, and get the oysters!

Amazing experience. My wife and I ate there and had a great time. I got the swordfish and she got the yellow fin tuna. Our sides were pineapple rice and bok choy and I had the Dune punch(excellent cocktail). The swordfish was perfect — not too tough like several I’ve had before. The tuna was cooked just right and had excellent compliments on the dish. The bok choy was good but the pineapple rice was better. The service was on point and the atmosphere was great. Very chill but slightly dressy. A little pricey but great value for what you get.

Well, we decided to take advantage of restaurant week on Nantucket and try this place out. It was… Ok. The interior is nice but the tables are really crammed together making it a noisy place. Waitstaff was attentive. The food was just ok… The Scottish Salmon — the fillet was nice but the sauce and legumes accompanying it were bland and uninteresting. The Steak Frites — the meat was flavorful with a nice sauce. The potatoes however were cold upon arrival and disappointing. The Kale Ceasar Salad and the Beet Salad were both quite good. The dessert of the day was Strawberry Rhubarb crisp with a Vanilla Gellato and it was awesome. If we had paid full price we would have been very disappointed… At the restaurant week price, we were just disappointed.

Decent food and service at typical sky-high Nantucket prices. My chicken was surprisingly moist and the chickpea fries are delicious, although the surrounding sauce was a little overpowering. The beef carpaccio was cut too thick and chewy. The indoor-outdoor seating area is pleasant but lacks interest.
