Our server/bartender, Josh, was fantastic. He was like a one man show, manning the entire place on his own. He was tending both the bar and at least 4 tables on his own, all the while chatting amicably with his customers. That said, the food at Jacqulines leaves much to be desired. I had the crab empanadas, which while cooked well, were mainly dough and cheese– hardly any crab could be found. I also ordered the beet and goat cheese salad, which I found to be heavily overdressed with a dressing far too acidic for my taste. Unfortunately, despite good service, I do not see myself returning to Jacquelines in the future.

Rustic, chill vibes in the middle of Nanuet, Rockland. Great for first dates, late-night catching up; the ambience is very welcoming, the noise level is just enough and not too overwhelming. The menu is tasteful with just the right price. The selections of wine is also great! My friend and I stumbled upon Jacqueline’s On Main on Unilocal and decided to try it out at about 10PM on a Saturday night. The place was filled and live music was in session. The service was great, and we even got a glass of wine each on the owner! The owner was definitely welcoming and overall had good vibes. We had a great experience and we will totally come back for more wine and flatbreads.

Overall *** Technically 3.5 Stars. While the food is certainly not something I would run back for it is a very cool place that I would try again even just for drinks. Setting **** Downtown Nanuet is not to be confused with Nyack. Nanuet has its gun shops and shady looking bars but there is this hidden gem. Inside is it everything I would want a lounge to be like. Cool music, exposed brick, varying fabric, interesting art work and light fixtures(although the lights should be dimmed more). There is a wonderful seating area in the front which combines high back booth style seating and low backless leather stools. Service **** I wouldn’t say anything special but certainly pleasant and attentive. Our server(bartender) didn’t add much value when we asked for suggestions, just said everything is good. Food *** I thought while the dishes were generally prepared well they were a mixed bag. The Olive Medley that I expected to be marinated with olive oil, garlic and fresh herbs were just olives in a bowl. The Lobster Bruschetta was very good and I don’t even really like lobster. The Mushroom Flatbread was a huge disappointment. First off it is not a flatbread but a perfectly round and what I suspect frozen pizza dough with absolutely zero taste. The few mushrooms there were burnt to a crisp. I could be mistaken but I did not see any liquor or beer options and the wine choices weren’t that interesting. Value *** It’s ok I guess $ 8 for a pretty good but small Sangria, Lobster $ 13, Olives $ 4 all seem fair but $ 13 for the«flatbread» is not.

Great atmosphere and excellent food. We enjoyed our time here. Would recommend for a quiet nite out for a glass of wine and tapas. Ask for the specials because our waiter didnt offer them and we later found out about them.

My book club friends and I do our monthly get together in Jacqueline’s back room. It’s comfortable, private and just an overall great vibe. The service, food and drinks are awesome. Love the sangria. The staff is wonderful. Highly recommend!

Stopped in for our first time on a Tuesday night and was greeted by Josh. The atmosphere was perfect for a midweek escape and the food was great. We had the mac and cheese which was one of the best I have had recently. It was not over engineered as so many places are doing currently. The hummus was delish and the empanadas were tasty too. My better half said the sangria was made with a nice refreshing blend of mixed fruit. Def recommend for something out of the ordinary. Enjoy.

My first time, and I have to agree with the other reviewers – a really warm, welcoming place, and the food was great. I travel a lot for work, so I’m always looking for places that make you feel like you belong right away and that offer up great food. Jacqueline’s has it all. Try it!

The décor is very swanky and inviting. It was a nice place to walk into on a cold winter night. We walked in around 8:30PM on a Friday knowing that it may be a little crowded. We did not expect two parties to be going on, greatly restricting the amount of tables that could go to other patrons. We were looking forward to the interesting menu items that we had viewed online however, so we stayed. We were told we could wait in their waiting area until a table opened up. The hostess showed us to the back corner of the restaurant by a shelf on a wall and said that he would be back with menus and ready to take our drinks. We waited for about twenty minutes and numerous attempts to grab someone’s attention to take our drink order before a woman who was sitting at the very over crowded bar felt bad for us and said we could have her seats. So we sat at the bar and found a bartender to take our drinks and get us menus. We saw that the hostess was behind the bar and we waved him over to let him know we had moved to the bar but still wanted to be seated when a table opened up. Fast forward 30 minutes later(already in the restaurant for 50 mins) and a table opens up. A women who had walked in five minutes prior and said hello to the hostess as if they were old friends was immediately seated at the table. We were able to grab the hostesses attention yet again and ask why we were not seated. He said he promised us the very next table. We decided we might as well have another drink at the bar since we had already waited so long. Another half hour went by before we were seated. The food was interesting and pretty good, the sangria was sweet and delicious, and the wines were on the cheap side and way over priced. The fellow guests consisted of older and very drunk men and women acting obnoxious and rudely loud. I would have rated 3 stars if it wasn’t for the ridiculous 70 minute wait we had.

Such a cozy, inviting place! The bar has two TV’s set up which displayed a fire. it was a nice way to add to the ambiance of a cold winter night. I was greeted and made to feel very welcome. The bartender/manager Josh kept himself very busy but made himself accessible as well. I never had to catch his attention if I needed something he always asked before I needed to. Now for the food. If it was just ok I would still return for the ambiance & service. However it was much more than ok. The lobster bruschetta was yummy with big chunks of lobster. The bread was soaking up the delicious broth but still had a crisp to the outsides. Then I tried the crab empanadas. These are a hit as well. Served with a sweet chili sauce and very tasty. Mango cranberry sangria was a welcome treat. There is also a very extensive wine list. I wish I could pick this place up and bring it to my hometown. Just visiting the area and I am jealous they have this cool and cozy wine bar. I have 2 in my area and they could both learn a lot from this place.

Atmosphere, outstanding service and a culinary wizard in the kitchen. Don’t miss out on visiting here! Every once in a while, you try something new and wish you had known about it sooner. That sums up our experience with Jacqualine’s. Owner Elvis clearly appreciates and has interest greeting customers personally. Josh, behind the bar is very personable, attentive and a multi-tasking machine tending bar and serving tables. Happy to have met Chef April who we learned was a C.I.A. grad. immensely talented, very passionate and a genius with flavors. The tapas were among the best dishes we have eaten anywhere. We will be visiting regularly and wish them continued success… they deserve it. Asian tacos are my favorite! The Empenadas, Lobster Bruschetta and Hummus were outstanding. Great experience! Jamie

Once again, I am extremely impressed by this place. I wanted to take my best friend(and a group of friends) out for her birthday. I called ahead to get the Backroom they have available for more privacy. The room was amazing. Comfortable couches and a television that plays some nice nature scenes and calming sounds(except there were too many moving water sounds, makes you want to run to the bathroom lol). Josh was great throughout the night. Always coming in to check on us, as well as another gentleman. We were well taken care of. We ordered a few dishes; a pepperoni pizza, an avocado chicken gouda pizza, beef empanadas, guava empanadas, a cheese and meat board(pancetta, chorizo, Brie, cheddar, and goat cheese), and nachos. Everything was amazing! The food was absolutely delicious. We especially enjoyed the avocado pizza and the guava and cheese empanadas. The nachos though were okay. Nothing too special, but still enjoyable. We had also gotten a pitcher of red sangria which was extremely tasty as well as a few mango sangrias. Overall, we had an extremely enjoyable time. The staff really made it a great night and the food and drinks were really amazing. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone having a small get together or even to stop by for a quick bite and drink. Love it!

Évaluation du lieu : 3 Nyack, NY
I went here with 3 friends on a Friday night for tapas and wine. After moving from Tarrytown to Nyack recently, I was hoping to find a local wine bar to replace my holy grail wine bar, Lily’s in White Plains. No such luck so far. Let’s break it down: The wine: Since it’s a wine bar, I’m going to be critical of the wine. I’m not a wine expert but I actually know a fair amount about it and I have the say the selection here is mediocre at best… mostly low end wines from CA and WA with very few international/old world wines. Also, I have to say that the marked up prices on many of the wines is ridiculous for the location… it’s even higher than you would see at many comparable bars in NYC. For example, one of the more expensive domestic wines they have is the Kendall Jackson Chardonnay… this is a very good wine(one of their better options for sure), but the cost of a single glass is $ 13 and I have a whole bottle at my house that I bought for $ 11. Obviously bars mark up their liquor costs by a few hundred percent to make a good profit, but that mark up is higher than I’ve seem almost anywhere. The food: My friends and I tried the chicken avocado pizza, the prosciutto and pineapple pizza, and the chicken pot pie empanadas. They weren’t terrible but none of them were impressive and I don’t have a desire to eat them again. Also, just a note, the prosciutto on the pizza comes in cubes, not slices, which is unusual, not very appealing, and kind of leads me to believe it’s just cheap regular ham. It didn’t have that signature prosciutto flavor. The space: The interior design is actually pretty nice. It has some classier elements along with some tackier ones but no major criticisms here. The service: Nothing remarkable to say here… our bartender was friendly and attentive enough but not amazing. Maybe I’ll go back at some point if none of the other wine bars in the area meets my expectations but I’m not planning another visit anytime soon.

No, no, no! This has to be a joke that this place is so highly rated. I have only come to read the reviews since my aunt put something on my Facebook about the best bars in Nanuet. See, I grew up in Rockland, lived in NYC for a decade and now reside in London. I have traveled extensively and have experienced my fair share of high end establishments. This place does not even hit the mark. I came here a few weeks before I moved to the UK(sometime in May) and my friend and I were definitely not impressed with the food, wine or even the service. The décor is completely tacky and the wine selection is basically like drinking Arbor Mist. Perhaps I am too pretentious for this place, but this is like The Sons of Anarchy of wine bars. If you want something classy, head to Velo in Nyack.

This place is a gem. The ambiance is very hip, well put together and welcoming. I felt as if I was in a tapas bar in the city without the claustrophobic feeling. The wine selection is pretty extensive with Josh more than happy to assist in finding the perfect wine for you. The tapas are reasonably priced for the great food that you get. I strongly recommend their crab empanadas and the lobster mac and cheese. They have the perfect combination of cheese and cold cuts. Perfect place to go to unwind from a long day at work or just to hang out with friends. I believe we found a new«go to» spot.

After hearing a lot of excellent reviews about this place, my husband and I decided to try this place out, all the way from Hackensack. The location itself is a big plus, near the train station, along the main street and next to the mall. Choosing the prix fixe brunch menu for Sunday is definitely a good choice. For drinks, hubby and I both opted for watermelon sangria as it sounded exotic. It was really good. For appetizers, hubby and I shared the 2 appetizers empanada and mixed green salad. Each bite of the empanada just melts in my mouth, it has chicken, melted pepperjack cheese with a hint of cilantro and jalapeño in it. The taste is truly unique. I even ate half of my hubby’s share, it was that good that i had to take his. Mixed green salad was a surprise, i thought it would just be a regular salad. The blending of the crispy pancetta, blue cheese and apple makes it extra special. I am not a blue cheese person and in this case, it’s not overpowering. Just love it. For entrees, we shared the brunch tacos and chicken and waffles. I’ve tried a lot of tacos before and i should say this taco is one of the best ones with beef, eggs, source cream, it just makes you forget about the other food. For the chicken and waffles, the waffles are good with the syrup. The chicken was crispy and there’s something special with the flavors, it’s just so delicious. Aside from the wonderful food, the ambience of the place is superb and the music choice makes you feel at home. We’re coming back to try the dinner menu soon.

Made a Unilocal account just to write a review of this place! Jacqueline’s On Main brings a much needed sense of style and class to Nanuet’s main street. Wines: Tons to choose from with great direction from bartender on what wine suits your taste(Don’t be afraid to ask to taste the wine before you buy). There are also beers and mixed drinks to choose from if wine isn’t your thing. Atmosphere: Great choice of music paired with really cool and creative décor(love the wine cork filled columns) which creates a chilled ambiance. Way more seating then I thought there would be including a backroom lounge with couches. Last but not least, the FOOD: The tapas menu is out of this world. Got one of everything on the menu. The chef definitely has a knack for flavor that compliments the bar’s wine selection. Come for the wine, stay for the delicious food! Definitely a new regular spot for me.

Wow. Will it survive? Not so humble Unilocaler certainly hopes so. A decent selection of wines, granted it’s a soft opening week and the full Monty has yet to be seen. Tapas selection seems nice, again limited menu for early days. What I thought would be an unremarkable«four cheese pizza»(mere $ 9) was a superb blend of, maybe you guessed, four cheeses on a nicely crisp crust. These guys are serious about their startup. The décor is interesting, clean, and almost flawless. If you aren’t part of a wine and tapas addiction group(btw, tomorrow’s meeting cancelled due to weather) you STILL can have plenty of fun in this relaxing, intimate, warm and inviting environment. I hope they do well. Go there, do it now. Because if you follow my reviews, the places I love curl up and die. And in my depression I realise the common denominator is me… Enough tragedy; bring the wine!
