I’ve been twice now and have enjoyed both times. The most delicious manhattan ever! And I love small plates. Waitstaff was funny and helpful. Just a tad expensive.

A beautiful historic building in Nyack. A small but cute bar. Two of us had the the sirloin special which was excellent. Mine was medium rare which was cooked perfectly. My friend had the chicken which was also great. The service was attendance without being obsequious. I also had a spicy and tasty bloody mary. I would recommend and will be coming back.

What a fantastic experience all around! I met my boyfriend here and it is a great date spot. The atmosphere is cozy and the service is wonderful. Jose was so attentive, knowledgable and helpful as a server and Matt the owner, makes sure to connect with each customer. They were great! The food is DELICIOUS! Each dish we had from the chopped salad, the crab tater tots, the gnocchi and the gnudi were all very flavorful and creative. And the desserts made by Matt are divine! We had the banana cream pie with a ginger snap crust and a taste of sticky toffee pudding holy yum! We will be back.

Our favorite restaurant in Nyack, by far. Matt Hudson is an adept restaurateur, super professional and an absolute charmer whose memory for his patrons’ favorite drinks also helps to solidify this as a place to come back to again and again. Personal faves: duck, salmon, venison, shrimp & grits, steak au poivre. Oysters! Desserts are the BEST we’ve ever had, anywhere. Matt makes them all personally, every morning. His sticky toffee cake is incredible, key lime is epic, black bottom banana pie is sinful. Brunch is incredible too! We absolutely love this place. Can’t say enough good about it, Matt, his outstanding staff, etc.

I have been here several times for dinner and had a party in the upstairs — all of which were excellent. Just came back today from having Sunday brunch and had an equally great dining experience. I have to start off by saying our server, James, was the best! His sense of humor was so entertaining. He was so nice and accomodating. With everything we ordered. I can’t say enough nice things about him. I had a customized omelette with wild mushrooms and goat cheese, cooked exactly how an omelette should be. The Nutella French toast and eggs Benedict were also great. Had to get dessert and we shared the coconut cream pie, an apple spice cake and a chocolate caramel cake — all homemade by the owner. Mimosas and bloody Mary’s were awesome as well as a thyme infused cocktail I ordered. Place was packed — full of happy people. Highly recommend and ask for James!

Just got home from having Thanksgiving dinner at Hudson House in Nyack and it couldn’t have been more disappointing. Not only was the food lukewarm and mediocre but our waiter, a young man with dark hair who barely looked old enough to vote seemed like he wanted to be anywhere else except at the restaurant doing his job. Not only did he have a terrible attitude but he did absolutely nothing to make my family and I feel welcome. I will never return to Hudson House on a holiday and I also will never return there on a regular day nor will I recommend it to any friends, family or co-workers. Don’t bother going here if you are looking for a classy dining experience.

The food, atmosphere and service are top notch at The Hudson House! We eat out several times a week and have eaten all over. This is our home base, and its where we normally entertain anytime we have guests to Nyack. Two thumbs up!

This is the heart of the Hudson. I went here during the Hudson Valley Restaurant Week(Please make an extra effort to do this if you are foodie.) This restaurant is stunning to say the least. The salmon is terrific. The quality of food is superb! To be honest, after my experience I have always gone back to order the sticky toffee bread pudding. This is one of best puddings I have enjoyed in Rockland.

Having a restaurant background, I am often critical of restaurants I eat at. Incredible service and food. I would highly recommend coming here! The owner, Matt Hudson, is extremely personable and makes all of his own desserts!

As we entered the Victorian style former ‘Village Hall’ with original late 1800s pressed tin walls and ceilings, we were graciously greeted by the owner Matt Hudson. The room was busy with smiling patrons, and a swirl of servers who were very efficient and each quite friendly. Starting with excellent martinis, we delved into the menu per previous recommendations here on Unilocal.Surprisingly, each dish was excellently executed. Starters: Home made gnocchi, Butternut squash soup, Chopped Salad. Entrees: Beef Rib-eye for two — cooked to perfection. Seared Wild Salmon on top of purée of butternut squash and cauliflower. Desserts all homemade: Excellent Key Lime Pie, Firecracker Apple cake complimented with Vanilla ice cream, plus Sticky Toffee pudding on the House. We will definitely return!

My boyfriend and I have now been here on two occasions, and both times were equally wonderful! On his birthday, we were rather coy about ordering mostly because our past experiences in nyack and nice dinners have left us somewhat longing for more. I ordered the small plate of a surf and turf, while he ordered the hanger steak with fondant potato in a demi glacé. Both orders were wonderful! My filet was cooked beautifully and the portion sizing was just right. I tried a bite of the hanger steak and the Demi glacé it came in was wonderful! Originally not thinking of getting dessert, the waiter had so sweetly brought us a slice of the gluten free chocolate cake that comes with a salted caramel sauce… And oh my goodness was it sinisterly decadent. Although the cake is light, it is so rich in chocolatey goodness! The salted caramel sauce really takes it up a notch and if you get each aspect of the plate on a fork in a single bite, I think it’s truly a difficult task not to giggle with joy. Second time around we ordered a bit more excitedly. Kicked off with oysters, and they were by far the best we’ve had in town. Super fresh, light, and yummy! Then we tried one of their small plate specials of oxtail and lobster. I cannot remember the details of the order, I can just remember biting into a soft and salty yet somewhat sweet and wonderful dish! The meat was tender and fell apart easily, while the lobster was creamy and sweet as a contrast. We split an entrée, which was equally as delicious as the first time, and ended with that glorious chocolate cake. This time, our waiter gave us a small sampling of the key lime, and holy guacamole was it delicious! I never order key lime because I tend to find it too sweet, but this has such a great balance! Our waiter was more than accommodating and was quick for refills on our cocktails, along with topping us off for some great local whiskey shots before we departed. All in all it was a great dining experience in nyack!

Brunch al fresco– we really enjoyed our brunch experience! The staff was friendly and accommodating. Anthony, our waiter, was especially energetic and entertaining as he was charismatic and bursting with personality which greatly added to our experience. We shared the shrimp and grits, which is A MUST have, the perfect pairing of a generous portion of tender shrimp and creamy grit with a bite of bacon, hint of scallions. The shishito peppers was also a good appetizer to share, a nice blistered pepper with a mild peeped flavor, unless you get that random hot one! It was accompanied by a Meyer Leon aioli which was nice. Our entrees were the country oatmeal pancakes with a citrus molasses compound butter with a perfect crisp edge and eggs Benedict with prosciutto, portabello mushroom, arugula with a truffle vinaigrette. Be sure to spread the butter in between the pancakes and then drizzle with maple syrup for the perfect savory bite. The eggs were delicate and creamy along with the truffle vinaigrette made the perfect bite. The Bloody Marys had a hardy horseradish bite garnished with celery and lemon. Wonderful experience and we’ll definitely be back!

I was in the area and looking for a place to have dinner. A friend of a friend who lives not too far recommend this restaurant. Since I was at a bar a few blocks away I call to see if we needed reservations since it was a Saturday night. The guy who answered the phone was super nice and told me their dinner tables were booked but I could sit at the high tables by the bar which was fine. When we walked in the table he spoke about on the phone was there waiting for us. We hadn’t sat down more than a minute when a server came by and asked us if we knew what we wanted to drink, I wasn’t sure yet so she was nice and gave us more time. They started us off with some warm bread and this spread(I want to say it was humus) which was really good. We decided to share the potato gnocchi with fresh mozzarella in pesto as our appetizer and it was very good. For my entrée I went with the pan roasted hanger steak and it was cooked perfectly. The steak melted in my mouth, it was super tender and juicy. I was almost full but I had to finish my steak. I didn’t really have any room for dessert and not into sweets but my great dinner companion wanted to try the chocolate espresso brownie and who am I to say no :) Our waiter brought us the brownie and a complimentary sticky toffee pudding cake. The espresso brownie was pretty good but the sticky toffee pudding was out of this world. I cant stop thinking about that dessert since we left. I don’t come to Nyack often but I think I might from now on to visit this restaurant.

We stopped there for a drink. We enjoyed the home made cocktails ! We ended up staying for dinner after chating with the witty and skilled bar tender and the friendly owner. This place has a great atmosphere and a busy bar after a certain hour. The food was very good, well executed and presented. Service is excellent. The desserts were very satisfying, yummy and tasty ! Try them !

Make sure booking a table ahead of time if you’re going on a weekend, the place gets crowded and the seating area is kind of small. Loved everything I ate and I had some unique dishes too. They really made me feel welcomed, super friendly crew!

We had grilled octopus and mussels from specials, both were very nice. Salmon was alright, they served with barley, cant say i am a big fan of barley. But the best part was hospitality, what a nice crew and they deserve a 4 stars review
