Went here for Valentine’s day with my boyfriend and we were blown away by the quality of food. All of there pastas are homemade, so I definitely recommend. A really intimate, cozy restaurant with an eclectic and delicious menu.

This is the place to go for the best of food and service in Nyack! I have now eaten here four times and has been consistently terrific. Just be careful descending the stairs to the bathrooms… rather steep.

Went here for a holiday lunch. The food and service were impeccable. My coworker had the short rib lasagna and just raved about it. The pasta dishes on the prix fixe that day were delicious. The food was all fresh and seasoned to perfection.

Ask for the polenta fries off the bar menu even if you’re eating off the restaurant menu. Very fabulous and comes with a smooth three cheese sauce.

Perfect little place in Nyack. Try the cauliflower truffle for an appetizer, the Skate is an amazing entrée — you wouldn’t think it, but it’s great. And the Peanutbutter and chocolate ice cream is a wonderful dessert. The cocktails are great. I recommended the Makers mark cocktail.

Perfect service and delicious food. I ordered the fried oysters, the special of the day(Filet Mignon steak with whipped potatoes and veggies) and, for dessert, the brownie sundae. I would definitely eat here again! Even the oil for the bread was amazing. Perfect date night here.

The food is so sinfully delicious, that the chef should be locked up! The service is top notch, very attentive. They really love what they do, you taste it in the food, and drinks, and feel in their service. Marcelo, Rich, Donna, and supporting cast really appreciate you being there. Would give it 10 Stars if I could.

Nice place for wine. We were drawn to this place because of the pairing of outdoor seating and wine, but when we couldn’t get a table outside immediately, the interior actually proved to be cozier than expected. The staff here were very friendly. We ordered some wine and the appetizer pizza which is more like a personal pie but quite delicious. Unfortunately, when it came time to settle the bill, my card was accidentally over charged a significant sum. Thankfully we caught it before signing so that the transaction could be reversed and run at the correct total. Alas, because of this mishap, my bank thus suspended all further transactions as the activity seemed suspicious. Fortunately, we a had another card on us to finalize the bill and move along. Needless to say, a call was then in order to my bank to ensure all was settled and release the suspended services on that card. While this put a damper on what was otherwise a perfect evening at Velo, I look forward to returning soon for the dessert wines.

I recently went to this restaurant on recommendation from a friend. I went with a client of mine and we had the most lovely time. We ordered a bunch of different foods to share including the cauliflower which was sheer magic! I loved it. Might be one of the best things I ever ate. Marcelo, made me feel like a queen, and he was so wonderful and attentive and knew the menu and food extremely well. I just loved it and will be back soon, and then soon again.

I had a coffee-rubbed pork loin at Velo that was juicy, flavorful, complex and full of porky goodness. It triggered memories of childhood on my parents’ pig and coffee farm, after the harvest — and I grew up in the suburbs. In other words, it was existential. Also, the truffle mac is choice. Thank you, Velo.

I have been dying to Velo for the longest, I used to pass it all the time when my husband worked in Nyack. My sister-in-law and I finally decided to go during Hudson Valley Restaurant Week. We made reservations at 8:00 and arrived at 7:45. We were seated right away. We put our orders in by 8:10. Our appetizers came out at 8:50. We were served bread about 10 minutes before that when our waiter remembered we were there. The venue was not busy. This was a TUESDAY evening. The portions were small(understandable for prixe fix) and the food was not hot. I enjoyed the handmade pasta(the app selection from the prixe fix menu) despite the temperature. my sister-in-law thought she had eggshells in hers and was told that’s the way the mushrooms texture was. she was told to hold tight and they brought out a complimentary Cauliflower Sformato– which took another 20 minutes. The flavor on this was not to my taste but it was unique and nicely presented. When we finally got our meal– 9:20 I wasn’t hungry anymore, and was a little underwhelmed by the taste. I ordered the pan-seared cod with winter ratatouille in blood orange sauce, my sister in law ordered the chicken served with a creamy polenta and sundried tomatoes. I enjoyed her dish more than mine. We put in our dessert order from the Prixe Fix menu– Flourless Chocolate Cake with White Chocolate for me and Pear Crumble for her. We waited another 20 minutes. When our desserts came out, my chocolate cake was lukewarm and dry, the pear crumble had a unique taste and was delicious. Overall, I will probably not come back, I am disappointed in how we were treated, and offended that the maître’d made it a point to stop in on almost every other table and we were ignored… and our service was delayed, and it was mentioned our ticket was lost. It’s restaurant week, people are coming to try you out, at least try to have good customer service.

You can only say so much about this restaurant’s delicious food, wide variety of drinks, and friendly service. Top marks for all. What really puts it over the top, though, is a recent experience we had. My wife’s parents were in town, and we brought them to Velo on a particularly busy Friday night. There were several large parties seated around us, and the place was so uncharacteristically loud, we had to shout at each other. My parents-in-law, both a little hard of hearing, tried to stoically enjoy themselves, but by the time we received our drink orders, it was clear we weren’t going to be able to enjoy our meal. Here’s where Velo proved themselves to not only be a fantastic restaurant, but also a class act: the manager, Marcelo, not only called and made us a reservation at a quiet restaurant around the corner, he also comped our drinks. This place goes well beyond the call of duty to make sure every customer enjoys their experience. Needless to say, we returned the following week and had a great meal, and we’ll be back many times in the future.

Took a sporadic day trip to Nyack. I am so happy that we found this little gem. Our waiter, Eric, was so attentive, knowledgable, and had some great recommendations. We had the pre fix pasta and the rice crusted seared Tuna entrée. Everything was delicious! The food came out in a timely manner and delicious. I have to mention the drinks, our cocktails were delicious. I had the love buzz, and it was phenomenal. I usually don’t drink so early in the day but I have to say it was so good I was tempted to have another. I will certainly be returning here. If you go, try to get Eric as your waiter, he totally made the experience for amazing for us! Oh and be careful going down the stairs to use the restrooms, they are very steep ! But don’t let that dissuade you from visiting.

4.5 stars! I came here with a few friends for a little ladies night out and we loved it. They have a few decent priced wines along side some higher end ones. We shared a few bottles of this delicious Malbec, forgot the name. Instead of ordering an entrée each we opted for a few random items to share… Food: We started with the Mussels which were submerged in a white wine style broth. I thought they were really good. The broth wasn’t too salty which almost never happens, so I really appreciated that. It was really yummy dipping the house bread into the broth. The house bread was delicious and they had basil infused oil on the table. Next we ordered two pizzas. One had Caramelized Onions, Butternut Squash, Bacon, and Brie(extremely tasty). The other pizza had Jalapenos, Bacon, Tomato Sauce, and Cheese(also very yummy). Our last round of food was an order of the Homemade Gnocchi in Lamb Bolognese. The texture was really great and the flavor was pretty good. Overall the Pizza was my favorite part, actually… make that the wine! Service: Very professional and friendly. I loved how the waiter took control and after ordering he laid out the order he was going to bring the food out in. It was a true dining experience. Atmosphere: Very wrought-iron, rustic and romantic. Dim lights. Small space. Just lovely. I would like to come here again soon. Nyack is such a nice area. The parking can get a little rough though.
