Sangria for days! The place is gorgeous, good music selection from the Jukebox, and friendly bartenders who always makes my trip wonderful!

My wife and I have been coming here for over a year now. It’s a cozy place. Great atmosphere. Great deals. Interesting collection of wines, mostly European and Californian. Some draft and bottled beer. They have lite fair … Cheese platter, olives, and hummus. All the bartenders here amazing, and the owner, Ricardo, is a gracious and generous host. They have live entertainment at various times during the week and occasional food pairing nights, which you should sign up for ahead of time.

I am updating my review since it has been about a year ago since I last wrote about Avida. What I like about this place is the wine selection, price points are reasonable and the owner Ricardo carefully chooses wines from all over the world with impeccable taste. A gem in Rockland County.

Cory is the man! This place was a welcome surprise. Well thought out wine list, attentive and engaging bartender, appropriate cheese pairings, live music and a locals who are not afraid to socialize. This is the ultimate neighborhood bar!

I was excited to hear of a place that caters to the more sophisticated palette such as wine and cheese. We went and ugh I love the idea but the lights are too bright and i saw the olives come from a huge plastic jar in the back and also the hummus is store bought(saw the package) … The wine was great. I will go back on a different night. My husband and I are wine lovers and we think this place has potential.

I have been here about four times in the past two months or so, and I really like it. It is pretty new and already appears to be popular with the local crowd. Their wine list is categorized by country of origin, and Melissa, the bartender, seems familiar with them and gives good recommendations. She is also really fun and personable – I believe she is a real asset to the place. They have a guy who plays guitar here a few times a week – you won’t be disappointed if you go there and he is playing. He really is like a human jukebox, playing great covers without overtaking the atmosphere of the place; I have witnessed a sing-a-long or two that involved everyone at the bar, which was pretty awesome. It is charming, not overly fancy or overpriced, and that is the kind of place that works for Nyack. It has a local-hometown bar feel but doesn’t look or feel like a local dive or a pub, and that is the kind of place that works for me. I will continue to go here and recommend it to people. One small complaint – the jukebox that is used when there is no live music has an awful blinking light that really needs to be dismantled. If you sit next to it you might go a little crazy. But that is really the only thing that put me off at this little gem.
