I walked into the salon today feeling as low as possible after suffering through a horrendous bleach job the day before that destroyed my hair. All the hair along my hairline and crown had completely broken off and the color was atrocious. I knew color wasn’t an option but after a consultation with Goddess I had hope that at least I could get a good haircut to mask the damage and I wasn’t disappointed! I walked out of there with my head held high and I have to say that Goddess wasn’t just talented she is also sweet and was able to make me feel better. As I stepped to the desk to pay I noticed the receptionist writing on a post it note. She was so sweet-​she gave me some product recommendations to help heal my damaged hair. After the trauma I went through the day before the staff at JLK salon helped me see that there are talented and caring people out there who truly want to make you feel better. They just got a new client!

This is a review after my third visit! My first time (October) here I came and met with Arta for a consultation. I needed a color correction. I told her what I was looking for and she knew exactly what to do. The following day I had the process done and i loved the results. Arta recommended I use the olaplex as well as a purple shampoo. I came back recently to have my roots touched up, toner and blow out! Blond is very hard to keep up. And since I have really dark hair– my color tends to change pretty quickly. I feel very comfortable and trust her with my hair, which is hard to find these days. I would definitely recommend Arta and this salon. They have two locations for convenience and have good hours. I plan to continue to do my hair at this salon! I love their attention, their chic look and Arta is super friendly! Ill post other pictures of my second look which I also love!

I had my hair done at another salon, and that salon completely ruined my hair color and cut. Emily here went in and made my hair SO much better. She listened and gave me exactly what I wanted. My hair looks better and I’m so pleased with it. I highly suggest everyone go here!

I was going to a wedding and wanted to get my hair done since I always have trouble doing something good with my short, thin and fine hair. Goddess did my hair, and did an AMAZING job! I loved the end result! It was my first time at JLK, so she spent time figuring out what I want, and she had a lot of great ideas to build on the few images I brought in as inspiration. My hairstyle lasted all day and night through the dancing etc at the wedding, and I felt confident and beautiful thanks to Goddess.

I was looking for a fresh perspective and a new hair dresser. I stopped in and made an appointment with Goddess. I felt like one after I left. Being a new client she and I spoke for awhile before and I felt that she completely understood what I was looking for. My cut and color was fabulous and the blowout lasted several days. Salon was hip modern and clean. Staff was attentive.

I am a very happy customer and had the pleasure to use Arta twice as my stylist. She is bright smart, experienced and excellent at styling. I think of myself as a pretty discriminating customer and I would give 10 stars to JLK for having star stylists as Arta. What a treasure at the Nanuet shops and now you don’t have to run to NYC for hair styling.

I used this salon for my wedding and they were great! 1 bride, 8 bridesmaids, and two mothers… they got everyone done on time and everyone’s hair was perfect! Goddess is amazing and can create any look! My hair stayed curled on a hot August day for 10+ hours! Highly recommend for a wedding!

One of the best salons I have ever been to. I walked in with one big giant mess of a head of hair (literally) and thanks to Jason I walked out looking and feeling like a new woman with a new cut and color. The color which we never even discussed, is absolutely perfect and I love it! Jason is amazingly talented and I would refer him and his salon 1,000x over! Thank you Jason also a big thanks to Narcia (shampoo woman) who is also amazing! I will no doubt be a customer for life! I highly recommend you try them! Lastly, cut, color and blow out only cost $ 130.00. Inexpensive for Manhattan quality service.

Had another amazing cut and color by Jason on 7÷14÷15. Truly amazing staff from Jason right to the receptionist. You get what you pay for and JLK Salon is worth every penny. Try them, you won’t be disappointed.

I would like to let you know about some of my experiences at JLK salon. I have been there a few times. The first time Jason, the owner, did my blowout. What a waste of time, I could have done a better job on myself. And let me just add that he is extremely rude to his employees. After seeing Jason, I went and saw his wife Laura hoping she could do a better job. I asked her for a trim and apparently she doesn’t know what that means, because over 4 inches later my hair was gone. JLK Salon is high priced and a waste of time.

Love JLK salon. Such a chic, clean vibe to it. Moved back to Nanuet a year ago, and haven’t been back to my stylist in the city since. Goddess is the best and always gives me the perfect color and treatment. I joke that I feel like a queen every time I go because I’m usually in a rush and end up having 2 – 3 stylists finishing my hair when I’m there! The manicures are also awesome as they have a huge variety of colors and glitter! Highly recommend this place!

After a subpar experience at another salon I went to JVL and met Goddess. She began the color and cut correction from my previous salon experience. She was kind at the register. I’ll definitely go back.
Interesting fact … One of the owners of JVL was the cause of my horrible hair color and cut. She works at another salon. Weird Coincidence.

For Rockland, this salon is pricey but in this instance it was worth it. Laura was great and just understood what I was looking for. Before I made an appointment I read reviews but couldn’t find prices anywhere for their services — I found out why after the fact. If you are looking for a change, good stylist and up to current trends then this place is where to go. I would absolutely recommend Laura. I would give this place 5 stars if it wasn’t for the price. Correct me if I’m wrong but it’s $ 65 blanket price women’s cut. I was happy to pay the price for my first cut but I wouldn’t go back for a trim. It may be a good idea to look at a sliding scale of some sort — short vs long, trim, stylist, etc. Having said this, I really love my cut and would go again– albeit wait a while for a proper cut again!

Arta did such an amazing job with my cut and color!!! It was a spontaneous decision and I walked in and she just chopped off my long hair and the ombré hair painting she did is just amazing. I love my new look! I also love how awesome their whole staff is, I ordered some products and they called me promptly to let me know they arrived! Awesome place!

I have long thick hair and it’s been messed up many times before. My second visit to JLK salon was very pleasant and satisfying. I saw Jason. He asked me what I wanted to get done and advised me to add something to that because it would go better with my complexion. And it turned out great! It’s very important when stylists care about their clients and not just do their job or try to ‘sell’ more services. Besides, Jason has a very light and soft touch, no pulling hair)) very efficient and professional!
I absolutely recommend visiting the salon! Well, at least Jason, because of my own experience. P. S. The receptionist lady is so friendly and patient! The atmosphere is nice, clean, relaxing. I’d try their other services — manicure/​pedicure.

I absolutely love this salon and the ladies who work there! Everyone is so nice and helpful. I used the salon a few weeks ago to do my hair along with my bridesmaids, mother and aunt’s updo for my wedding. They did such a great job! I was so impressed with everyone’s hair. Artsa did my updo and it was really really amazing! I highly recommend this salon especially for a bridal party. They made it such a nice experience, even bought up champagne and orange juice! It was such a pleasure to go to this salon!
