I’ve been here more than once only because it’s one of the few places open late at night. But I really wish management could make this place better. The waiters often act like they really don’t care about life or anything, they just go throw down the food, leave, and then don’t come back for a while. The food is mediocre at best. I thought with the updates they made to the décor that they would also improve on their service and food but doesn’t look like it’s happening.

I have been here twice only because I am not in Nanuet that often to eat, usually I go to visit my Best Buddy and head to the city and grab a bite with Mini-Me, her and her son. but every once in a while we want diner food. The diner is typical diner, shiny and lots of colours, we were seated right away in the back corner booth and the nice sever took our drink order and when he came back we were ready to order, 2 deluxe burgers. Can I just say I don’t get the separation of burgers here in the east coast. I have always remember to order it as a burger and so it comes with lettuce, tomato, fresh onion and pickles on the side. In the east coast that’s called a deluxe. Otherwise you get a «burger», bun with meat(cheese) if you want and fries — not deluxe. Anyway the fries were delish crispy and not greasy at all. 1 Nachos«deluxe» which had cucumbers and lettuce under the chips and chili, odd but we all agreed nice texture thing. 1 Chicken teriyaki –a little pricey on this«chicken teriyaki» was close to $ 15.00 but it was a huge portion and really good, I don’t know how the kid at it all. 1 potato skins. Dessert was a banana split they don’t have hot fudge here but they have chocolate syrup. I Service was really good and the food was hot and filling so for sure we will be back there the next time we are visiting and want to grab a bite

I am sorry but the service here is terrible. I’ve been here once before and waited two hours for food, I came back today to give them a second chance and it took twenty minutes to get only drinks. After another twenty minutes of waiting we just got up and left because we weren’t going to wait all night for food again. What happened to customer satisfaction –a unsatisfied customer

I give this place two stars instead of the one that it wholeheartedly deserves, because of the waitress’s perseverance in trying to feed me an ingredient that I continuously told her I did not want to eat. I’ve never been to this diner but have passed by it before it was renovated, I figured maybe with renovation comes either new management and/or food so it might be worth a shot. Right? WRONG I was set on eating a meat(grilled chicken or steak) with broccoli, pretty basic right? Trying to avoid anything that contains flour in it. I saw that the«specials» included steak with shrimp scampi and vegetable, so I figured maybe I’ll try that since it’s a «special».(Before anyone says why did you get a steak at a diner? Although I myself am an advocate to have safer diner styled foods at diners and leave dinners to real restaurants, I have had occasions of landing on a decent steak from a specials menu) I asked the waitress what kind of steak it was, since it just said steak and shrimp, and she said«ugh…steak…» I replied with«.I see…» When she took my order, I asked her if they can just cook the shrimp without any scampi sauce since scampi contains flour and informed her that I’m not eating anything that contains flour. She agreed and asked if I wanted a coffee or a tea since it comes with it. I asked if I can have an iced tea and she said it can only be a hot tea. I then asked if I can have a hot tea and a small cup of ice on the side, she didn’t like my joke =/ THETROLLINGBEGINS She soon brought out a big basket of bread and crackers for me, I quickly reminded her that I wasn’t eating anything with flour in it and that she could take the basket away so it doesn’t go to waste. She said«Ok have some crackers then». I said«No.I don’t want the crackers cause of the flour». She looked at me with this look as if she wanted to say«Ofcourse you aren’t going to eat a flower silly lolz». YOUWILLEATFLOURPART2 She brings out my food and on the side is this aluminum oven baked stuffing that looks like it belongs in a turkey or on top of clams casino. I asked what it was and she said it was«crab stuffing» loaded with, you guessed it, flour. She also gave me a little ketchup sized plastic container that had guacamole which appeared to have been reused by 3 different tables who had ordered quesadillas and made its way on to my plate with someone else’s fork mark in it. The steak was bad and the shrimp were frozen. PART3ANDCONCLUSION I asked for the check and she smiled and said«Do you want cake??»(LOL) I’ll never forget those beaming eyes, as if she was insisting on finding news ways to convince me to consume flour. «No thank you» I replied with a smile back. It was like Green Eggs & Ham, «Would you like it on a boat? Wouldcha eat it with a goat?!» DECORANDSTAFF The outside is really misleading, from the exterior one could assume it would be a typical stainless steal diner, but inside it looks like spongebob squarepants vomited everywhere. Very confused look inside. As for the staff, I couldn’t spot one person that looked like they carried a managerial role. It was as if the bussers were running the entire establishment. That’s the problem with diners, the owners think the place can just run itself.

This place is a diner. Nothing more nothing less. Diners are not known for their food. Just selection of foods you know and fast service. I’ve been going here since I was in high school so there’s that sentimental value you hold to it. It is a part of growing up and it’s apart of Nanuet. Its a place where families go to grab breakfast, where high schoolers go that’s not fancy for late snacks. It is what it is. I took a star off bc food quality is not great, but I’m fully aware of that coming into this diner, and a star off for slow service-maybe an off day for the waitress and cook staff. Usually pretty good with coffee refills, which wasn’t case today but again may be an off day. Our waitress was very kind and patient with my dad, so for that I loved her kindness. Not great. Not horrible. Just what it is. Constant and a place filled with memories.
