I live in Napa and have been to the store on several occasions, the shoes are comfortable but every time I go the customer service gets worse and worse. Today I was looking for shoes and found several that I wanted to try, I was struggling to carry all the boxes, one of the sales people saw me struggling to balance them all and and simply turned and walked away in the opposite direction to go and stand at an empty counter. Needless to say I will not be going back any time soon.

After a Saturday of sightseeing, I decided to end the day with a quick trip to the outlets. With just a few hours to spare, I targeted a Clark’s visit. The shoes are comfortable and come in a variety of styles. The womens variety of styles have evolved over the years. 10 years ago I would say the shoes are comfortable, classically styled, and quality made. But now I can add the adjectives sexy and trendy. Clark’s is an English company making shoes since 1825. Ok enough of the history lesson… back to this particular store. I was greeted right away as I entered the store. The store was clean and well stocked. The shoes are separated by womens and men’s on each side; and organized by size. The special sale for the day was buy one and get the 2nd pair for 50% off. I was practically looking for sensible work shoes. I bought 2 pairs; 1 patent leather dark brown crocodile pattern loafer and 1 casual Privo athletic bungee slip on. $ 105 for both shoes, that’s nearly a 1⁄3 savings off retail. The salesperson was very helpful and patience with assisting me in finding sizes in different styles; he was a sweetheart. My only suggestion for management is to evaluate the spacing because the aisles are narrow and seating is limited.

IF they have your preferred shoe styles, it’s a great store. Last time I went in looking for a specific shoe, they didnt have my size but ordered if from another store for me and I paid while I was there. I had the shoe a day later! Great service.

Okay, I admit it. I wear«granny» shoes specifically for work, especially the days I’m running around the office. Clarks boots are comfy, and I’ve found stylish pairs, especially the ones I purchased this past weekend from this store. Store was organized, and I liked how they separated the shoes by sizes, so I could see what styles were available for my small shoe size. Another friend picked up cute ankle boots so we got an additional 25% off the lowest priced pair when buying together, which was on top of their already discounted prices. The staff were very courteous as well.

Finding a good bargain and the correct size requires some work because they have a pléthora of shoes, even in odd sizes for those of you with narrow and shallow feet.

First time buyer, let’s see how these shoe wear. Found some shoe that I liked, too bad the color I wanted was too tight for the same size; weird huh. I settled for the one that didn’t hurt. Friendly staff. Shoes came out -$ 10 less at the register.

Shoe shopping is difficult for me. First, nature hath cursed me with size 13 feet. While they keep me plenty stable, they are hard to shop for. Second, when it comes to buying clothes, I turn into a bit of a cheap bastard. Which is strange, since fiscal restraint is not a normal part of my makeup. I’m more than happy to spend lavishly on food, wine, gifts, trips, etc. etc. But when it comes to buying clothes for myself, I get really… twitchy. And before you PM me and write stuff like«Ben, your inability to buy nice stuff for yourself reveals that you don’t think you deserve good stuff, which in turn means…», just remember this: if I didn’t listen to the nice folks at the psych ward, why do you think I’ll listen to you? I bought my first pair of Bostonians in 1998. At $ 150, it was an incredible splurge, given my finances at the time. I still have them, and they still look great. So, I have a bit of brand loyalty. Plus, my work shoes need to look a bit conservative. So, Bostonian’s traditional style works perfectly. In fact, «traditional» may actually be MY style. 2 pairs of shoes, less than $ 200 total, and I’m set for shoes for another year or so.

Not the freshest styles. The Clarks stuff is better than the Bostonian stuff.
