Meh… Stopped here for lunch. I was fairly ignored at the bar, where it is open seating. I had to ask a dishwasher for a menu, as the bar tender and his manager couldn’t be bothered to look my way for about what seemed like and eternity of sitting at the bar. Ok, I’m being dramatic, but when I get up to a bar, I expect relatively quick and attentive service. Wine list is mostly Italian. Lots of good looking pizzas. I had the Inferno, which is olives and spicy salami. It didn’t take long to get there from the pizza oven after I ordered. The wine was great and the pizza was good. Initial Service is a big issue for me, because it really sets the tone for the rest of the meal. I’m sure my meal would have been better, if I felt like I was important for spending my $ 35 for a pizza and glass of wine. Pricey,

The wine tasting was a great deal, the food not so much.

This place was amazing. My mom was in town for a visit, and we stopped at the market to have a look around. cute little market with things not easily found in your ordinary market. We smelled something wonderful and our noses lead us here. We decided to get a little something. We decided to split a ½ order of pesto penne pasta. Both of us sharing this order could barely eat half of the plate. We ended up taking the remainder home with us. I ended up eating it cold without reheating it and it still tasted just as amazing as it did hot. I will come back again… even though it is a bit of a drive from sacramento.

After browsing past the many vendors in Oxbow Market, we were now ready for something to eat. It was 2PM, and we had a 7PM dinner reservation at Bottega in Yountville. We needed something to take the off the edge, but didn’t want anything filling. –Oxbow Wine and Cheese Merchant: Salumi platter with cheese and a glass of wine would have been good, but I was in a gassy way :) –Taylor’s Automatic Refresher: Bacon burger with fries and shakes would have been good too, but this will kill my appetite for dinner. We ended up getting our late lunch at Folio Enoteca. Along with a counter for wine and beer, one can order pasta, with choice of pasta, sauce, and optional adders like chicken, meatballs, shrimp, etc. Or they also have pizzettas, pita rolls, paninis, and other items in their chilled display case( ) After we placed our order at the counter, the cook/cashier told us to go ahead and grab a seat, and he’ll bring out our orders when they’re ready. What we ordered: –Grilled balsamic Brussels sprouts and artichokes( ): The chefs warmed them up on the grill, and arrived hot to the table. –Smoked Salmon Panini( ): With the smoked salmon, there was pesto, cream cheese, lettuce, tomato, picked purple onions. A light a refreshing panini, just enough to curb my appetite. The cooks working behind the counter were really easy-going and friendly, while efficient at the same time. Although they were busy preparing food for upcoming dinner takeout service, they were more than willing to answer any questions from passersby, and easily focus their attention to their customers. Glad we grabbed a bite here. Will be back.
