This Grille is inside the Embassy Suites. The restaurant itself was not easy to locate. There are no obvious signs or directions telling you where to go. It has a high class appearance with semi-high prices. If you are looking for a cheap meal this is not the place for you. Sevice was friendly but only one waiter/bartender was on shift while we were there. If this place gets busy that could lead to rough wait times. The wife and I shared a pepperoni pizza which was middle of the road — not bad, but not great. This was a tourist meal stop for us, not likely to recommend it or come back. No ‘wow factor’.

Started off good because our waitress pointed out that the managers reception had free hummus which is what my wife wanted. We got two glasses of wine, and a pizza. After the pizza came we never saw our waitress again. I was done, waiting to pay. My wife got impatient and finally walked back to the room. Waited more. Got my credit card out on the table. Finished the wine and waited more. The other waiter kept walking by to check his tables. Ours? NEVER! Finally I took out $ 40 cash to cover the $ 16 pizza and two $ 12 glasses of wine. Took a picture and started a stopwatch. Once it reached 6 minutes I stood up an saw our waitress behind the bar. She saw me looking at her and came out from behind the bar. I explained what I was doing and briefly why her service was so inattentive and she understood. Left my $ 40 and left. She told us early on she used to be a hostess and wine buyer at Tarla where we ate the night before. I can only imagine that she was fired from there. Two stars because it started off well. But two stars because it ended so poorly. There’s a reason you just don’t eat at or at least expect much from hotel restaurants.

Decent meal and great service. Mayra provided great service and was very nice as we asked for special changes. Recommend this restaurant.

The food is reasonable but the service exceeds expectations. The bar was lively and the bartender(Adam?) was both entertaining and quick with service.

This place is great! Food: We had the new York steak and salmon and it was cooked to perfection. The salmon was crispy on the outside and very moist. The flavor was intense. My mouth is watering thinking about it. The steak melts in your mouth. Very tasty. We had soup as well and the portabello mushroom soup is a must have!!! Service: The servers are awesome: Nathan and Mayra are very friendly, welcoming, knowledgeable with what they serve and best of all they were prompt. Nathan knows his wine! They even recommended places for us to see… Complete with a map! Because we had such an spectacular experience the first time we came back! The food was amazing! Grilled mahi mahi was delicous and the seafood chowder was very delightful!

I was not looking forward to going on a dinner date to the Embassy Suites but I have to say that it was absolutely delicious. The hotel is looking better than ever. It was nicely decorated and very clean. We had the Caesar salad and salmon with mashed potatoes and fresh vegetables. We live in Napa and there are so many fantastic restaurants close by, but I have to let you know that our dinner was excellent! I’m surprised as you are!

Its not as bad as hotel food normally is and if you close your eyes you can imagine you are someplace else. Nothing awed me and nothing really sticks out in my mind here. You might want to dress nice and then you will be the only person dressed nice and people might mistake you for a waiter.

3.5 stars I’m not overly enthusiastic about restaurants within chain hotels, but Grille 29 was pretty good. We had dinner here on our first night stay at the Embassy Suites in Napa & I thought they did a nice job. My Prawns Linguine was fresh and tasty. They also have an extensive wine list from which to pick. The Napa Cellars Zinfandel I had went well with my meal. I liked that wine; so I came back the following evening for an encore.
