Not a single complaint after being treated to a on one one tasting experience with Jason. We called morning-of to schedule a visit, and although Jason was tight on time, he graciously invited us in. So glad we sought Holman out — as others have mentioned, the location is in the middle of an industrial park and a bit challenging to find, but the effort is worth it! For such a small production shop, we were pleasantly surprised by the range of varietals Holman offers. We sampled most of their line-up, including a few barrel samples. We were also treated to a bread and cheese plate mid-tasting. Jason is clearly well-traveled and knowledgable. Was such a pleasure to chat with him about Holman’s history and wine-making process. Would definitely recommend you steer off-course en route to Napa and make a stop at Holman. You will not be disappointed! Perfect start to our wine weekend.

Loved this tour!!! Not your traditional winery tour due to its location but it was informative and the wine tasted amazing :) The passion Jason has for the wine only add to the experience.

John. Holy shit. I can even begin to say what an amazing tasting he did. It was so educational and intimate it felt like you were a part of the family. I highly recommend stopping by and having him tell you about this small, yet contemporary and risk taking family business. SOAMAZINGANDIMHARDTOIMPRESS.

This place is unassuming. You are away from the vineyards in an industrial area with no signs to lead you here. How great could this experience be? At first we were skeptical, then we met John. He is super knowledgeable, passionate and his bread… amazing! The first wine was ok, the flavors were light and fresh but a little to acidic for my taste. We continued through the whites which were light, refreshing and different then other varietals that we’ve had in the valley. After that we moved to the Reds, which had a lot of fun and great flavors with great and appropriate finishes. Great wines to drink on their own or with some of johns homemade bread with cheese, other tasty foods or just by themselves on a nice summer day. The entire experience was Great! I highly recommend this hidden gem and we will be back!

By far, the best tasting/tour experience we’ve had so far. The passion that goes into the wine is evident in every element of this operation. The wines were divine and the French bread that Jason prepared that morning for our tasting was out of this world! It felt like we were VIPs on our own private tour. We felt comfortable and relaxed. The space was great and very unique! We left with two bottles– the Dolcetto and the Red. The Red didn’t last the day, as it just had to be opened at dinner that night ;)

Excellent wine, friendly staff. Holman goes above and beyond to make you understand the subtle differences in the wines and their wines are unchartedly good

Jason’s wines are excellent. There are no bones about that. But if this was simply a place to try tasty beverages, then I wouldn’t give him 5-stars. He makes the tasting experience something special. Jason is pumped about wine and about obscure varietals, and it actually gets you really jazzed too. We arrived without an appointment(because I didn’t scroll all the way down on the Unilocal listing in my app), but because he’s just a really good guy and wasn’t too busy he did what he said was a «quick» tasting. This hour-long exercise in good times involved 7 interesting wines, a ton of really funny stories, a lot of wine education, and a trip to the back where they were pressing grapes to learn about the fermentation process. We were bouncing with excitement. This was more fun than you knew staring at grapes in a big plastic bin could be! We’re going to return — with an appointment. I can’t wait to see what the smallest winery in Napa is going to come up with next!

Love this place! It is the best winery place ever! It’s very cozy and lovely inside. I would definitely come by this winery again every time I go to Napa. :)

This is one of the best wine tasting experiences I’ve had at a winery/tasting room in a long time and I’ve visited scores of wineries in Napa Valley. It’s not your traditional winery/vineyard spot, but I think that’s what adds to the entire experience. It’s by appointment only and your visit includes one one one conversation with the owner and winemaker himself(Jason or his wife). He walks you through both French wines that are imported as well as his own proprietary Napa Valley wines. Compare/contrast, ask as many questions as you like — about the wine, the wine-making process, their story of how they started their winery(it’s a great story!) all while tasting some great wines, homemade bread(Jason gets up at 5am to make this yeast, double rising, amazing bread), cheeses and sometimes chocolates. You start off at the tasting bar and then finish at a long table that is set up nicely surrounded by barrels, and basically their all in one wine-making shop. On top of that, because they are so small, they offer throughout the year for folks to get their hands«dirty» and help out with bottling, labeling, picking grapes during harvest, etc. Who wouldn’t want to be apart of that experience. It’s a wonderful little spot, and I would recommend anyone to stop by and try the wines. Oh, and I disagree with one of the other reviewers. Their wines are crazy reasonably priced! Even more so when you compare to what other Napa Valley wineries charge!

The absolute highlight of our whole California trip. John was knowledgeable, kind, welcoming, and made us feel right at home. The Uncharted and Cadle wines were some of the best and unique we have ever tasted. We had to ship some home because we couldn’t get enough! Unlike some other vineyards we visited, where we felt like anonymous patrons just drinking some wine in a big room, John was a very present and attentive host and was focused on giving us a great experience. We also learned a lot about the wines and the process of making them. Truly a unique experience and a fun time. A must go!
