We got here at 10 am and we were the first and only group booked for the wine cave tour. It was awesome! Our tour guide was Jeff and he was very enthusiastic and informative. The tour started with a pouring of rose for everyone, before Jeff began giving us Pine Ridge’s history and background. And then we proceeded to go around the property. First stop was the demonstration vineyards, where we would get a little viniculture lesson and the different kinds of grapes/wines that Pine Ridge makes. Then we were off to the Chardonnay cellar and the rest of the cave storage system they have inside the cavern. At each stop, we would learn a bit more about Pine Ridge and Napa valley, it was all very cool to see where they produce the wine. At each stop we would get a little bit more wine, our glasses were never empty for very long. We sampled quite a few different wines and there was also a food pairing later on deep in the cave. Their chef hand selects some cheeses to be paired with the wines. It was all very well done. I’m for sure going back next time i’m in Napa. Next time I will try to book their private 5 by 5 wine and food tasting courses for small groups that they do once a day. I was that impressed by their other small tasting that was part of their tour. The 2012 Stags Leap Cabernet Sauvignon and the 2012 Cabernet Franc were delicious(actually all of them were pretty good, but those stood out to me the most)

Just joined 6 months ago. Good bold reds. Attended first pick up party event last weekend. Food could of been a bit more special and more cooking involved. Brie and fig on kinda dry brioche? I don’t think the pairings paired too well. But the wines were good. Also, there was a wait list of 100 people for a 2 hour event from 5−7pm. I could bring one guest and additional at $ 45 each but list was full. We arrived at 6pm and the caves were very empty. My buddy and I ran through the 5 wines and pairings within 20 minutes. I think they could of had more people albeit the parking is limited but there was valet that can basically stack cars for more room. Maybe at the next party, there will be some a la minute dishes instead of pre-made cold ones. 5 stars for Danika Butler’s awesome service every time though.

Probably the best wines on the Silverado trail in the heart of Napa Valley. While other wineries on the trail had some solid wines, Pine Ridge has an absolutely fantastic selection of great vinos. We did the cave/barrel tasting tour which is a fantastic experience, the cave party room is amazing! The grounds are beautiful and you can do the tour with a guide, very informative. This is also a great place for a picnic as they have some tables and space for visitors to enjoy the view of the valley and the surrounding mountains. A friend recommended Pine Ridge and I can highly recommend this winery for anyone visiting the Napa«Stags Leap» district.

Would definitely recommend this winery. We did the wine & cheese pairing tasting. I liked it because it was a nice simple wine tour/tasting. The caves were beautiful. Our tour guide, Bernard was great too.

Highly recommended if you are in the area. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about their wines. The wines themselves were really nice, we had enjoyed their wines but never visited the tasting room so it was very nice and they did not disappoint in service

Pine Ridge is one of our favorite wineries. We’ve been coming here for our annual Napa trip for about 3 years now and have been club members for 2 years. No plans to cancel anytime soon. There has not yet been a wine tasted here that we didn’t like. We recently came for a cave tour and it was great as always. Our tour guide, Chris was very funny, informative and super approachable. The last part of the tour is a tasting in the cave and it is a great way to get to know the other parties in the tour. This is a must stop if you’re in Napa. Come by for a regular tasting or call and make an appointment for a cave tour. You won’t be disappointed either way.

My husband Matt B. and I spent MLK weekend wine tasting in Napa Valley. We visited eight wineries, and been to a handful of others before. We’re not very picky, and loved almost every place we went, but Pine Ridge Vineyards stands out as one of our clear favorites. We went on the recommendation of someone at Duckhorn in St. Helena, and I guess he steered us right. Pine Ridge is a gorgeous winery on the Silverado Trail with a lovely tasting room. It was raining and we were on a schedule, so we didn’t get to explore the grounds or the rest of the interior(some of which appears to be members only), but what we saw was quite nice. We were able to walk in easily, and we overlapped with several other parties. We noticed that many of the people who came in were Pine Ridge members. They seemed pretty loyal and enthusiastic about the winery. The atmosphere was warm and convivial, and the service was great. We were helped by a woman named Renee, who took us through a splendid tasting. She was an excellent guide, friendly with a wealth of expertise. The estate tasting was on the expensive side at $ 40, the priciest individual tasting we came across on our trip. We were able to split it, though, and we got to try some wonderful wines. It included six substantial pours, of the 2013 Le Petit Clos Chardonnay, the 2013 Cabernet Franc, the 2013 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2012 Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon, and the 2012FORTIS. I guess Pine Ridge is known for its Napa Valley Cabernet, which has a very wide distribution, but the smaller production wines were more impressive. We particularly loved the Cabernet Franc, which we took home, and the Stags Leap and FORTIS were tremendous, if out of our price range. The FORTIS was $ 175 and represented a blend of the season’s best grapes, their quality determined by plucking and eating them off the vines. We also ended up eavesdropping on a conversation between Renee and a couple of members about the Cave 7 Cabernet Sauvignon, which wasn’t included in our tasting. The members were so into it that we got curious, and Renee obliged us with a bonus splash of the 2012 Cave 7. We ended up taking a bottle of that home, too. I was able to abstain from joining a wine club this trip, but I was seriously tempted by Pine Ridge. I signed up for their email list and the odds are good that I join in the next couple of years. Every wine we tried was delicious, and I know we’ll come back to this vineyard whenever we’re in the area. The free tastings alone might justify the commitment.

We were recommended to visit this winery and take the cave tour from someone who loves to go to Napa. The tour took a little more than an hour long and it was such a fun learning experience. I definitely recommend if you decide to visit Napa — the cave tour included 6 or 7 wine tastings, crackers and cheese: $ 50/pp. The employees were friendly and informative, and the property was beautiful! Unfortunately, you get no discount if you want to order wine and the shipping to Arizona was pretty steep: $ 45. We decided to order a few bottles anyway, but Chimney Rock down the street only charged $ 25 for shipping and the wine got to us quicker. Oh well, Pine Ridge does have great wines!

While the wine may be top notch, the service is certainly lacking. I came with friends to celebrate my 25th birthday and the only words I can use to describe the service would be «disengaged, or «aloof» at best. We had to hunt down our sommelier to even so much as describe the wine we were tasting. When she did, she would make comments that insinuated we would never be interested in paying for wine that was ~$ 150/bottle. If you’re looking for ambiance, good wine, AND quality service, head down the road to Silver Oak.

Ambiance is fabulous. We came before a Company holiday party in December, and even though all the vines are dead, the colors are gorgeous. Perfect brisk feeling outside, so we could sit in the garden and enjoy the wine without being too cold. They also have lamp heaters if you sit in the patio. Tastings were $ 40/person for 5 pours, and since there were 2 of us we decided it would be a better deal to share a bottle of wine instead. Their cabernet sauvignon($ 60) was a tad strange initially, but 2 sips later, wow. Smooth. Another friend bought the cab franc and I regret not getting that instead. If you buy a bottle, they’ll give you glasses and you can enjoy it outside. We saw a big bbq, so I can imagine this place being a real hit in the summer time. I absolutely recommend it. It’s close to a bunch of different wineries, and only a 20 minute drive to the Meritage.

Very high end and lovely. Wedding shower wine from 21 years ago was awesome so we had to order a case of their cab sauv to relive the moment

This place has some outstanding wine! My friend is a wine club member here and when we were out celebrating her engagement she took us here! The tasting was $ 40 for five tastings usually but because we came with a wine club member it was free! The bottles are all pretty pricy, around $ 80 – 150 per bottle but you get what you pay for… These wines were very special and I fell in love with their cabs! The only reason I did not give them five stars is because the staff could have been a little friendlier. I know your wine is good but it wouldn’t hurt to be a little nicer to your customers. I wouldn’t say they were rude but they defiantly were not friendly. More like, they didn’t care if you were there or not… Great place to go if you really want to try some quality wine. We will be back!

An small and cozy winery with a great selection of wine. I’m not a cabernet sauvignon girl, but I have to admitted, this one take really good. I enjoyed it. My favorite is Charmstone, a delicious red wine that is a totally charm in your mouth. With a light after taste it makes this red wine a perfect choice a brutal hot summer weather in the wine country.

Their wines are excellent, don’t get me wrong. However, I feel the tasting is way overpriced for the quality of the wine. Having been here for three days now we have found other better values for tasting. The tasting room is small and the atmosphere quiet. I guess that’s OK if that is your thing. Beautiful location and beautiful grounds. Overall, only three stars because of the price. Happy wine hunting!

There are a ton of small wineries all over Napa but somehow we ended up here. It was such a pleasant experience! It was a very warm summer day so upon arrival, our guy offered us a cool drink. I immediately fell I love with the Encantado rose wine. All of the wines we tasted were really very good. My husband isn’t big on wine drinking/tasting but he wanted to come hang out… So he and I «shared» a tasting and only paid for one of us. We, along with another friend of ours, thought our host was very personable and fun. He was previously in the cable tv business in his previous life and was very entertaining. We will definitely come back here again!

Hands down my favorite wines of the four Napa tasting rooms I visited. $ 40 for 5 tastings, I believe it was, with an off-the-menu one and some revisits for good measure. The whites were splendid, especially the Chardonnay(a surprise hit for most of the red-loving group) and the reds varied from rich and bold to subtle and fruity. They had no problem fitting us in unannounced on a Saturday around 2pm and Sarah was personable, friendly, and knowledgable about the wines and the other wineries in the area. And, of course, if you purchase some bottles, they’ll waive the tasting fee.

I attended a private dinner in the caves at Pine Ridge Vineyards and really enjoyed the entire experience. The vineyard was beautiful, the staff were such great host/hostesses and the food was a culinary treat. They take you on a brief tour of the caves while tasting some of their wine before being treated to a full course dinner… pretty incredible!

Outstanding wines and pairing! Napa Valley can be overwhelming with so many incredible options available. Choosing which tasting to do can make one dizzy. That said, the 5×5 private, seated pairing should absolutely, 100% be part of your experience. Bookmark and book it now! The tasting is $ 95.00 per person and you taste five wines(as the title implies). The difference between this tasting and others I have done in the past is that the bites prepared to pair with our wines are stellar and the perfect companion to the wines. The only other pairing that compares is the«By Invitation Only» pairing at Darioush(not really by invitation-that’s just the name). The Pine Ridge tasting begins in their welcoming lobby. The winery is extremely social media friendly. They have guest wifi and encourage sharing on all of their accounts(and they have them ALL). After an initial welcome and a glass of white(sauvignon maybe– I forget) our party was escorted through their demonstration vineyard and then the educational part of the tour through the caves. The tour ends in a private cave room which is beautifully decorated and ready for the official tasting upon entering. This was our menu: 1. 2010 Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon paired with a smoked Sonoma duck breast, cabernet cherries, and wild arugula. 2. 2012 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon paired with Niman Rahcn beef empanada with a pimentón dulce. 3. 2011 Stags Leap Cabernet Sauvignon paired with a wild mushroom tortilla in a pistachio salsa verde. 4. 2008FORTIS Cabernet Sauvignon paired with an Ossau Iraty cheese with candied fennel, date, and a walnut crostini. 5. 2010 Epitome Cabernet Sauvignon paired with a cocoa biscuit. Our party loved Fortis and Epitome the best. So much so, that we purchased several bottles of the Epitome to take to dinner at Terra that night. The chef is very talented and has a delicate, sophisticated palate. My only critique would be our guide’s intense serious personality. I get it. He’s probably done this tour a zillion times, could care less about it, and is over sipping the same wine. B U T, I’ve also taken a zillion tastings all over the valley in the last five years. Having a personable host is part of the experience. He wasn’t rude or anything. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and professional, but getting anything than a «no» or «yes» out of him when asking questions was exhausting. Barely cracked a smile. That part was disappointing. Then again, no one compares to Diane(formerly of Darioush– now at Palmaz). She certainly ruined it for all the other guides. In any case, I’m not knocking our any stars because of it. This tasting is SOLID and I highly recommend it.

Enjoyed a private tasting here on the patio during a recent visit to Napa. As members of their wine club we started our visit by bringing some sandwiches along and sat in a nice shaded courtyard and enjoyed our lunch. Following lunch we tasted 4 or 5 recent releases while sitting in soft comfy outdoor furniture away from the business of the tasting room. Our hostess brought the wines to us while we relaxed in the shade and chatted with our friends. And the best part was that it was free because we are wine club members. They specialize in big bold wines with Cabernet being their sweet spot.

Our second stop of our wine tasting adventure was at Pine Ridge Vineyards right off the Silverado Trail. The winery grounds are beautiful. The path leading up to the tasting room is line with several fig and persimmons trees. The tasting room consists of an L-shaped counter and circular counter. We stepped to the counter and was served by Dave, who was funny and entertaining host. Before we started our Estate Tasting flight, Dave started us off by pouring a Chenin Blanc-Viognier. Then we proceeded with the tastings of two Chardonnays, a Tessitura Merlot, and two Cabernets. Then as a sweet finish, Dave pour a Black Diamond Port, which was a delicious cabernet port. Dave had it sold to us. After our tasting we walked and checked out more of the beautiful grounds. It was nice tasting experience.
