The rooftop bar @ Sunset is THE place to be in downtown Napa on a Summer evening. What a fab spot! Great service, delish bites to eat.

Very nice place to enjoy a glass of chardonnay and/or to have some appetizers before eating. The place serves a lot of siders and plain dishes that seems interesting. The best part is the rooftop ! When it is shining do not hesitate to go to the 3rd floor using the elevator, a nice bar and kitchen is waiting for you. Also, the team is lovely. Very professionals.

The rooftop is lovely. My drink was okay(it was some sort of berry tequila) — way too tart. The porkchop was delicious and worth each dollar(it was expensive!). The raspberry sorbet was so delicious! I got the ceviche special which came out as a few specks of cod and some edible flowers arranged on a dish. Pretty disappointing portion. Other than that, we had a great time — the service was good!

A very quaint and beautiful place for brunch. The rooftop space is great for an afternoon lunch or just a beverage. The both seats are spacious and the service was good. A must try are their scrumptious donuts.

The Thomas roof top dining as well as friendly staff make this Napa restaurant one of my favorites, especially when friends come to town. If you dine here, request the roof seating. For dinner, the leg of lamb is spectacular but is not always on the menu. The bone marrow added to the hanger steak is one of my favorites. For lunch, I wish they had a salad that was an entire meal. The Caesar is great, the seasonal stone fruit is delicious too. Unless you are a very light eater, the salads are not hearty enough. So then you need to order the fries, which are spectacular but defeat the purpose of choosing a salad for lunch. So why 3.5−4 stars not 5? Lunch salads should be offered in a small starter and larger size. Also, the BLAT sandwich, bacon, lettuce, tomato, has potentially tasty flavor but is a disaster to consume in a lady like or gentlemanly fashion. The sandwich bread is made soggy by the tomato so the bread collapses into a SPLAT onto the plate or the lap. Cutting it in half does not remedy the soggy mess. If this sandwich, BLAT, was served with slices of melted cheese, or as more of a panini style, toasted, maybe it would hold together better. The bread is thick and smoked rather than toasted. It ends up tasting burned, and absorbing the tomato juice, which causes the collapse of the structure. It could be a good sandwich to split with a friend along with a salad or fries to share if it were not such a burned flavored mess. You can get a much better stand alone sandwich for 7.99 at a deli. The BLAT is 13.00 or so without fries. I had 2 Bloody Mary’s but absolutely no happy buzz. Usually I feel 1 drink so these must have been light on the vodka.

Dinner and drinks on The Thomas rooftop on a summer evening make for a lovely time. The service was outstanding. Our server was friendly and attentive and Phil(who seemed to be the man in charge) made excellent wine recommendations and had such a warm personality. We never had to ask for a thing; water glasses and bread plates magically stayed full all night. Not only that, but they neatly fold your napkin for you if you happen to leave the table to use the restroom. I appreciated that little detail. They do all they can to make sure you’re taken care of here. Our group of seven ordered up a storm that night. We ordered about half the menu and everything(EVERYTHING!) was absolutely delicious. Favorites included the beet salad, roasted brussel sprouts, fresh oysters(no doubt the best I’ve ever had), pork chops(SO tender!), and salmon. Even the complimentary bread was amazing: cut thick, with a light crisp on the outside, fluffy on the inside, lightly grilled, and a little smoky. We ordered all the desserts as well: all so good. The superstar though was the blueberry dessert, served a la mode. The entire experience was top notch, except for one blemish. My cousin ordered the fried chicken, and it arrived raw and pink in the center. She showed this to Phil, who apologized profusely and replaced her dish with another. The next chicken dish was even more raw than the last. Finally my cousin just gave up on the chicken and ordered crab chowder. My cousin received a tirade of apologies from at least three different people for the raw chicken, including an Asian lady who knelt down by her seat and looked like she was on the brink of tears she was so ashamed. In the end we got comped for a bunch of our drinks and my cousin received her chowder free of charge. Overall, our night at The Thomas was awesome. Beautiful green views of Napa hilltops from the roof, classy ambiance, delicious wine and cocktails, mouthwatering food, and amazing hospitality. Easily a 5-star experience with the exception of the chicken mishap – raw chicken is bad, but two times is just unacceptable – but it was handled nicely IMO. Definitely worth a visit. Get the oysters!

Nice rooftop dining! Make sure you make a reservation and specify to sit outside. My husband and I had some cocktails and shared a charcuterie plate. Cocktails were just ok, but the charcuterie was pretty good(prosciutto melts in your mouth). Good place if you want outdoor dining in Napa.

Swanky spot for the ritzy at heart. Fagiani’s has pretty awesome fancy cocktails(Come on, boozy lavender lemonade?! How great.) and quite the ambiance. It’s not somewhere you want to bring a ton of friends to get crazy, but if you’re starting off your night, or capping the evening off with a nice drink I highly recommend this spot. My favorite is sitting upstairs and enjoying the view of downtown Napa.

Came here for dinner and drinks with some good friends. Came on the recommendation from one of my girlfriend who lives in Napa and it was really quite nice. We started in the bar downstairs(good drinks on the expensive side) and had dinner on the roof deck. Great weather and lovely view. More importantly the food was great from appetizer to dessert and would go back for sure.

Stopped by here for drinks and ended up staying for dinner. We walked in with no reservations and that seemed fine. Overall I’d rank this place a 3.5 for friendly staff and good tasting food, but more on the extra pricey side in my opinion. Here are some more details: — This place is located off Main street and there is parking available 3 block away in a parking garage free of charge. Interesting fact, it seems there was an actual murder here, yes murder! My friend is a resident of Napa and told me the story… spooky! For Cocktails I tried the Man o’war and my friend tried the Boozy Lemon. The Man o’war came in a cute little cocktail glass, and it was good, Bourbon, lemon, I liked it! My friend liked the Boozy lemon as well, I thought it was a bit sweet. Cocktails were $ 13 range. I had a bottle of wine and paid the $ 25 corkage fee, For dinner we ordered the Halibut and Pork Chop. When my dish arrived, I was impressed with the presentation & taste, but the size looked like an appetizer, not what I expected for $ 32. The Pork Chops on the other hand was plentiful. The place got super busy and we tried to make it up to the roof top Patio, but it was jam packed. I did get to see the view and it was pretty scenic as you can see the Napa hills surround the city. I would recommend coming early and getting a table early on.

We enjoyed eating here very much. Cozy restaurant with great comfort food, excellent service, and a very quaint ambiance. The fried chicken was crisp, tender, and juicy. Highly recommended. The pork chop was also quite good. All sides accompanying the mains were also nicely seasoned. It’s not a fancy restaurant but it was an enjoyable relaxing experience to dine here. We liked it a lot.

Good food, great atmosphere and friendly staff. I was in town for work and the girls at the outlets recommended I come here as they said their rooftop was great and there’s always music. I was a little disappointed as the rooftop was closed last night, the drizzle had ended a few hours beforehand also:( I did enjoy a nice glass of the Sauvignon blanc and the Brussel sprouts which were fantastic. They had a sweet taste to them as they were made with a caramel sauce and they were quite crispy, I love all the different places that offer these now a days. Growing up, Brussels were the worst thing a parent could put on your plate and restaurants have really made these taste delicious. I also had the parsnips which looked and tasted like potatoes, they were different and I enjoyed them. The downtown area of Napa has a great vibe, there were many great places from the parking lot to this place. I’d come back here and next time hopefully get a seat on the rooftop and will come back with a bigger appetite so I can try more food!

Really delicious and creative dishes on this menu along with beautiful wine selection and a dirty martini that made me weak in the knees. Sweetbreads were out of control, halibut with artichokes was also fab and the burger is obviously a mainstay for a reason! The ambiance in this pace is killer, such a great vibe especially on the roof deck.

Was looking for a good brunch spot in Napa after long weekend of wine tasting and The Thomas did not disappoint! We made a reservation and got a prime spot on the rooftop, the views are SPECTACULAR! Had the Bloody Mary, and while fresh juice Mary’s aren’t normally my thing it was refreshing(and necessary for my hangover). Ordered some oysters and charcuterie to start, all were delicious! The oysters were pricey but the quality of them showed. Ordered more oysters, which took an extraordinarily long time to arrive at the table for 4 oysters. They didn’t actually hit the table and midway through our meal I cancelled them, a bit disappointed. However our waitress was extremely apologetic and the manager also came over and apologized, taking them off the bill and bringing them to us anyway! I got the Crab Benedict, but I have a gluten intolerance and since they didn’t offer gluten free bread they kindly substituted some smashed fingerling potatoes. Easily the best Crab Benedict I’ve ever had, delish! The BF got the French Toast with bananas and hazelnut chocolate, rich but heavenly, and my dad got the BLAT sandwich which is HUGE!(Nice thick bacon! But I didn’t try it) Also got a side of Brussels Sprouts which had more bacon(who doesn’t like more bacon?) and they were so good I almost ordered more but was too full! Bottom line: Service was great, the manager fixed their mistake, and most importantly the food was fantastic all around! Don’t think twice just go already!

I’ve been here twice now, once for dinner and once for brunch. Both times were good but not great. The ambiance is cool and their rooftop is pretty amazing if you can snag a table on a nice day. To be expected they have a great wine list and their drinks are also great — the bloody at brunch is awesome! I just never have been super impressed with their food. I actually didn’t really like the dinner I had at all, the pizza was basically just crust with no sauce or cheese. For brunch I split the burger and fried chicken sandwich(calories don’t count on the weekend, right?) and both were okay. The brussel sprouts we got as a side dish were amazing, best thing I’ve eaten there. I’d suggest going to Faginian’s to sit on the on the rooftop to get a drink and some apps but go elsewhere for your actual meal.

Six words: Crispy brussels sprouts with apple glaze. Are you effin kidding me??? Literally, these are like crack. The place is really cool too, overlooking the river. The other food was good too, just not crack-level. Ya feel me?

I’d like to live next door to Fagiano’s Bar. We just spent a weekend in Napa and I’ve got four different checks from this place! The bartenders are really happy to share all the details of the cocktails that they’re mixing and didn’t get the slightest bit irritated by the barrage of questions coming from the two of us. Nice by-the-glass wine list and the bar food looked great. A(very) French couple next to us ordered the charcuterie plate and they pretty much vacuumed it down without speaking to each other. So thanks Sarah(twice on Saturday) and Andrew(twice on Sunday) for the education and the great drinks.

The service at the bar is awful. Have fun waiting 20 minutes just to be acknowledged. You’ll be treated surprisingly better at the dive bar next door. My group and I were treated terrible by 2 bartenders, one whose name was Josh. They kept pushing a bill on me that wasn’t mine. I told them that I didn’t order any of the things on the itemized receipt. The bartender rolled his eyes and actually tried to tell me that the names of items on the receipt meant nothing. He was trying to overcharge me! I told him what I ordered and handed him the bill, asking for a corrected copy. He never came back. Instead, he pawned the same faulty bill off onto one of my group members. I was absolutely appalled by how I was treated here. I have never felt so disrespected at any establishment in napa. Update: I had asked the bartender who was so rude to me what his first name was and he told me it was Josh. I just learned from his coworker that he lied. His name is Dan. Dan is the discourteous bartender. Thank you Dan!

Surprise, surprise. I attended Fallfest(a food & wine event benefiting Meals on Wheels SF) yesterday and discovered The Thomas for the 1st time. They served an amazing dish of octopus(grilled?) and then sauteed with linguica sausage and greens. Wow… fantastic! This was one of my top 2 bites at the event. The delicate flavor of the tender octopus and the salty«porkiness» of the sausage along with the tender greens was outstanding. I will be making a trip up to Napa very soon… probably just to eat in this restaurant. Love a new find!

In Downtown Napa. From the outside, it wasn“t what I expected but had heard good things. The food was delicious! Device was good. I wanted to check out the rooftop bar but after a very long day, I was just too exhausted in the end. I started with roasted beets with feta and walnuts. Very good. The focaccia was very tasty! For an entrée I had the filet with bone marrow Béarnaise sauce. So rich and absolutely wonderful! Grilled asparagus on the side. Too full for dessert. Absolutely some place I would return to!

I usually give a place two chances-not this one. What a terrible first time experience. So disappointing. Having lived in Napa for 20 years, I just couldn’t wait to finally set foot into this beautiful building. But the experience was one disappointment after the other. To begin with, the hostess did not welcome us with a smile or even eye contact. Hands tucked into her pants, looking down on a menu, she mumbled ‘be right w u’. They had us wait for 20 minutes for no apparent good reason as the place was dead. They suggested we’d get an apéritif. Not really something I care for at 2pm, but the wait was so long-what the heck. They made big advertisement for a house made Pomegranate drink. So we ordered that, just to be told that they were out of the mix. At 2pm? Did they suggest something else? An alternative? Nope. ‘We are out of the mix’ was all the bartender said. When we were finally seated, we were handed a brunch menu(at 2pm). Could we have the lunch menu? ‘Oh we don’t offer that right now’. The choices were extremely limited, most of them egg dishes. I finally decided on a dish, just for the waitress to inform me that they were out of that dish. U have got to be kidding me. I finally settled for an egg dish which was the size of an appetizer. As we waited we saw a large platter of oysters served to a neighboring table. That had NOT been on the menu. We asked the waitress-oh yes, that’s not on the menu. We asked if there was anything else that was not a breakfast dish that was not on the menu. ‘No, the oysters were the only thing’. We left the place hungry and utterly disappointed. Really too bad! Way too many other good restaurants to be bothering with that one again.
