My husband and I recently stopped in for a tasting and had an amazing time! Staff was great! Jarred was pouring our tasting and was incredibly nice and knowledgeable. Andy put Wendy Rene on the stereo for us. Can’t wait to go back next time we’re in Napa!

My best friend and I came here on a recommendation from the Vintner’s Collective. We had such a fun time here with Andy and Jarred. They served up some delicious wines and were hilarious. We will definitely be going back!

Terrible service! Owner at first seemed so attentive and friendly. Four of us each ordered four tastings. We got our first tastings and had a great chat with the owner but waited about 30 minutes until we finally gave up and just left after our one tasting. It was clear that we were ready for our next tasting but no one paid any attention and didn’t even care when we left. Started off so well but ended so poorly — very disappointed! We would’ve bought multiple bottles of wine but their loss.

Love the vibe and location. The staff are super vibrant and down to earth. Garret whom served us wine was super intelligent about the local wines.

What a fantastic experience! Gorgeous decoration, roomy yet cozy and above all amazing boutique wines. Garrett is a superb host and one of the kindest people we know. It is located in downtown Napa.

The Bounty Hunter recommended that we stop into the wine thief and check out their wines so we did just that. I have to say we were not disappointed. We walked over and were the only ones in there. Our wine host as I will call her, Ashley was just wonderful. She was so great to talk to and was so excited about wine, talking about the region, the local wine makers, and everything else under the sun that we ended up spending I would say 4 hours talking and tasting with her. She was a blast and created a wonderful experience for us. They have some pretty fantastic wine. Though they don’t make any of their wine they work closely with the wine makers, we even got to meet a few and chat about their wines. Over all this was a wonderful experience, we didn’t even have time to go anywhere else after this one place because we spent so much time hanging out with Ashley. I would highly recommend stopping in, you get to learn a lot about wine, the wine itself is wonderful, and the people are just awesome.

After a busy wedding weekend, and for being a little wined out(gasp!), The Wine Thief was just what we were looking for in terms of a tasting and setting. It was a Monday night so as suspected, we were the only ones there for most of our visit, but the open, gorgeous layout and comfy couches were golden. We tried some great wines and I felt the tasting fees/pours were decent. You can try 6 wines for $ 30, or 4 for $ 20. While they had a decent list and lineup, many of their bottles weren’t opened yet so we weren’t able to try some we laid eyes. Also, I had really wanted to take home a bottle of the AJ Pearce, partly because it was delicious, and partly to commemorate our wedding weekend, but they didn’t waive tasting fees with a purchase. Hmph. I wouldn’t be opposed to coming back but will probably make it to other downtown tasting rooms I haven’t been to first.

Wines were okay at best. Stopped by for the first time since the place looked charming. But what we found insulting was the lack of attention we received. No explanation of the wines poured for flight tastings. Disappointed and won’t be back.

Honestly this has been the most refreshingly awesome place. A breath of fresh air, not often that the winemakers pour your tasting… Not one wine tasted that we didn’t like Extremely fun atmosphere!

Andy and crew worked on this for a long, long time. It was well worth the wait. They put together a nice selection of incredible wines from boutique winemakers(often guys who make wines for other larger and/or more famous labels). I’ve tried just about every wine they have, and they’re all winners. The Wine Thief is sleek and sophisticated, yet comfortable, roomy, and fun. There’s no «sardine can» factor that you see in some downtown tasting rooms. The staff are friendly and accommodating. Spend a few minutes talking with them, and you’ll know they’re not hacks using memorized lines to up-sell expensive wine; they’re wine educators guiding you through a delightful tasting experience. If you want excellent wines for your collection, go to The Wine Thief. If you want to bring a winner to a friend’s dinner, go to The Wine Thief. Whether you’re buying a hot weather porch-pounder or a living room sipper, Andy and crew have got you covered.

My girlfriend and I found Wine Thief to be a perfect wine experience away from the wineries. It’s in one of the most popular areas of downtown Napa, so when you leave inevitably buzzed there’s plenty to do right outside — including Gott’s Roadside right across the street for amazing burgers! But I digress. The space itself is pretty large compared to other wine bars in the area, with room for four to five standing groups of two to three, a few sitting groups, and some large parties as well. It’s well lit, with a welcoming modern elegant décor. Most of the action happens at the standing wine bar on the far end of the room, which is where we were. Andy, Jared, and Garrett were really easy to talk to, and kept us and four other groups company for a solid hour. My girlfriend and I aren’t exactly sommeliers, so Garrett and Jared explored what we liked and made great sampling recommendations from the 7 boutique wineries they represent. It was altogether a great first wine bar experience. Highly recommended!

I enjoyed the experience and the wine. I am disappointed I haven’t received any communication about my wine order from Wine Thief but my credit card has already been charged. I have tried to call numerous times with no answer and my emails go unreturned.

Brand new tasting room in Napa at the Oxbow. Go see Andy and friends to sample some great, boutique wines from very small producers. He just opened and I think this will only get better.
