Gustavo! We are still counting on meeting you. And merrily wine tasting with you.
Gustavo’s both family and friends speak so highly of him. And it’s not hard to know why. He has an inspiring story. He’s passionate about wine. He cares about the quality of each and every bottle. We probably spent the longest time here actually talking about wine and enjoying/​taking our time.
The «third bottle» was the greatest possible bottle they could have invented. It’s basically the «leftover scrappy stuff» that Gustavo doesn’t pay his meticulous and fine attention to because it is the third bottle that you drink. After two. When you’re basically drunk. When your palate isn’t as fine-​tuned. It still tastes good, but I just think it’s hilarious how eloquently our server explained it. Right on.
We ended up buying a bottle of the Pinot Noir and 3^rd bottle.
We liked this boutique winery so much that we brought back our friends and family.
And, yes, if you watched the movie «Bottle Shock,» this is indeed the same winery. It was entertaining to hear from his actual family that the movie definitely Hollywoodizes some of the history.
Looking forward to returning when in Downtown Napa or the Oxbow!

This review has more to do with location than it does the wine itself.
My wife and I were in Calistoga and we wanted to visit Gustavo Wine because of the movie Bottle Shock. The shop itself is a little bigger than a studio appartment and it’s located in a strange place. Not exactly what you might expect from a well known wine shop.
I’m just saying this wasn’t what I expected. That’s all.

Awesome little boutique wine room to spend time on a cold day. Hearing the history of Gustavo wines is part of the Napa experience. The wines are excellent. Amber, our host, was excellent at explaining the history. The sauv blanc is a great start, the chard is very refreshing and apart from the style that’s makes people shy away from this wonderful grape.

Yep. Bottle Shock’s Gustavo. I don’t even like most Cab profiles, but Gustavo’s was truly very good. Recommend the bottle pictured. HNY, everybody!

This is my boyfriend and I second time we come to Gustavo wine tasting room and got a chance to catch up with Joann seriously these are some of the nicest people we’ve meet in Napa. My boyfriend is a huge cabernet sauvignon and there’s is so good. I highly recomend this place when in town definitley a must try. Well be back again can’t wait to come back to do the barrel room tasting. Great wines, friendly staff and owners.

Im not a huge fan of wines, to be honest I barely drink wine because Ive always felt that they were either to acid, or the flavor was too strong for me. I went to this place because everyone was talking about Gustavo and the movie. I had the best Napa experience at Gustavo’s. The guy at the store not only told me a bit about the story of each wine but about Napa in general. The wines were delicious!!! Even the strong ones! I spent and hour and a half and I’ve been recommending his store ever since. Of course I ended buying wines!

Great little spot. Love Nick. He really went the extra mile. The wine was great, and the atmosphere was quaint. A great way to get know Gustavo Wines.

Phenomenal wine with 2 labels under 1 brand. This was my father in laws dream come true because Gustavo is the guy from «Bottle Shock» (if you haven’t seen the movie, it’s a must see!). Very casual and right across the street from the BEST burgers (Gott’s) in Napa.

The staff here was excellent. My wife and I enjoyed the wine tasting, but we enjoyed the company even more!

Just got into town and randomly came across this tasting room. Cute little place with super friendly staff. Wine was good and pourer was very knowledgeable. We enjoyed our time here and would stop back again.

Such an authentic experience going in and talking to Joanne about Gus and his story. Loved this «off the beaten path» experience and highly recommend the wine!

My boyfriend and I popped in after having burgers at Gott’s. I expected we’d be there maybe 15 minutes and we stayed for almost 2 hours. We had a great time talking to JoAnn, who happens to be the wife of Gustavo the winemaker. She was so much fun.
My boyfriend and I shared a tasting and he loved all of their wines, especially the 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Coombsville. My favorite was The Third Bottle White Table Wine. We bought a bottle of each.
We will absolutely be back! This was the best tasting room we have ever been to.

I LOVE this tasting room! Great location right in Downtown Napa. The wines are delicious and the owners are super nice! Fun fact, Gustavo Brambila, the owner and winemaker, is featured in the movie Bottle Shock. Great film!

I was told about this place by the people at Twenty Rows as one of the paces in the area and, we decided to give it a try. The wines were ordinary and, Gustavo’s wife has no clue about the wines, nor does she drink them. And to have to pay $ 15 per person to taste ordinary wine, is the nail in the coffin for me.
Of all the wines we tried here, the only one that I liked was the very last one and, it was their Cab Sav. They also did not inform us that there was a charge for tasting and just started pouring. I only wanted to try one or two as I was driving but, ended up trying 5 and spitting out 4. My friend who collects wine and imports them into Germany had the exact same reaction. I have tasted a lot of wine over the last 25 years and, collected wine for over 20. This was one of the most ordinary wine experiences I have ever had.
There are tons of other fabulous places in Napa and I won’t ever come back here again. I was hoping for a nice experience and ended up being disappointed and $ 30 poorer ;-)
