I have used Trancas Crossing Park several times for launching canoes into the Napa River. The launching spot is down the hill and accross the bridge. Park in the circle and carry your boat on the trail to the east and down a short and sometimes slippery embankment to the water.(I understand that improvements will be made later). You must then move your vehicle and park in the upper lot. The water can be low here, so watch your tide tables. This section of upper river is relatively quiet and has much wildlife. It is easy to paddle down the river to the downtown area and them back up to where you started.(All this depends on the current and tides) When you return, head back up the hill and move your car to the loading area. Hope you have a great day on the river!
