Exit Underground Attire has MOVED. Find them around the corner, at 116 S. Webster in Naperville. Still underground, still hot pink, still with Ms Amy, the fabulous owner. It’s like they air-lifted it from the Main St spot and dropped it, completely intact. This store is my favorite place for jeans and stockings. My daughter and her friends love the tshirts, clothes, hair dye and jewelry. They do frequent sales these days, and I walked out with jeans for $ 12 per pair last week. Go.

So, I am a little late to the party. I went in to this store for a pair of TOMS. I had read about their one for one program and decided to try it. If you are not familiar with this, the company donates a pair of shoes to a child in need for every pair of TOMS sold. So I can help a child by buying a pair of comfortable shoes. DONE The owner was very nice and said if they did not have my size in the style I wanted, it could be ordered. They did have my size and I am all about«HAPPYFEET».

A little slice of punk, just across the street(and underground) from The Gap. I can dig it. Exit is much like Hot Topic but with a more paired down selection, better prices, a super cool owner, and with a few other sparkly gems thrown in the mix. I wish they had a better haircolor selection… just something a little heavier duty than manic panic would be nice. How’s about some bootleg Pravana Vivids? I’d be in here every week for that gooey gold… er, orange. They had a great selection of skinny jeans in all colors and had I had more time, I would’ve tried them on as they were fairly priced. My fave thing about this store was their selection of Toms shoes for Men. I’ve got to get here to get my BF a pair. Perfect for Summer and oh so cute.

This shop is somewhat hidden, and over-priced in my opinion. I did see some unique Tripp NY items, but I wasn’t willing to fork out almost $ 40 for a tunic — you can check ebay for better deals sometimes. Anyway, I did purchase some small items, that were priced«ok». The woman(owner I’m guessing) was nice — had her daughter chillin behind the counter with her. Honestly, she just seemed like a «Naperville mother» with funky hair — didn’t have the aura of a true fan of the«alternative style». So as far as clothing, it was a little too high for me, especially now that I’ve found Ebay, or heck, even clearance at Hot Topic. They do not have a huge selection, and it also costs a little too much to have a design stamped on a t-shirt over at their machine. It was alright, but I probably wouldn’t go back there unless I found something there I couldn’t find elsewhere and had some extra money to spend.

I would give this new business a higher rating but they are still stocking. Think — The Alley has come to Naperville, but a little toned down — for now anyway. It does remind me of a Hot Topic, but there are a couple of pieces you don’t see there — here. The owner was extremely nice and if you want to know what happens to punks when they grow up — I am pretty sure she is living proof. Make sure you stop in, they are located downstairs, around the corner from Starbucks — which one? you ask — they are in the old BookZeller location.
