This has been a great place for Irish food. I have been coming here on a regular basis for a while now and I always enjoy the food. It is always served very quickly and never have I had to wait very long for any meal. I enjoy the daily specials throughout the week and really like the lunch card that is offered. My favorite course is the Shepherd’s Pie. I especially like the soda bread that is served with this meal as well as others. The pub itself is authentic Irish décor as and is a nice place to visit while in Downtown Naperville. The staff has always been polite and courteous. I would most certainly recommend this restaurant as one to visit in downtown Naperville.

I have walked past this bar an uncountable amount of times while i was living in dt naperville. One day gorgeous summer day last year i decided to give it a shot… I sat out on the patio w a girlfriend. A server then came by and gave us menus…15 minutes go by and our server is nowhere to be seen. Then she pop out and goes straight to the other people at a table. I was trying to get her attention but she flew past me. While i never got the chance to try their food, which smelled great, i can say their service blows. My girlfriend and i got up and went to jimmys where we werent ignored and got a drink right away. Quigleys you arent the only bar dt with a patio(;

My first review as a monthly regular at Naperville’s best indoor outdoor pub. Summertime out on the patio with my Mom and her dog Daisy or cold evening inside, our experience has been five stars — wonderful service and food. However, recently we experienced a bad taste in our mouths, not from the pint sized draft beer, but from our greasy entrée. Our fav dish: the Fish & Chips changed in a big way. Maybe, if we had been there on a weekend with a band playing and a few beers we may not have noticed the difference — but how we noticed. Right from the moment our server placed the dish on the table. Something looked different, instead of three fish — we got two. Not the three flakey ale beer battered fish that just melted in your mouth and tasted the best. The best in all of Illinois. We got two greasy chicken breast looking fish. Oiled up to the max from the Guiness recipe as were our potatoes. The old chips were sliced and made just right, under our fish… Now just a pool of oil. Not acceptable. Not going to make us come back for the dish that we recommended to all our friends and neighbors. Honestly, even Daisy didn’t care much for the leftover as her stomach did her a turn for the worse at potty time. Quigley’s Pub, you get 3 stars. Please fix this and make it right and my next review will be five stars. It’s winter and you still have time before spring to win Naperville over. DS

I understand that this is a business and they need to make money, but EVERY Friday evening half of the place is «Reserved» which makes it tough for regular people to get a seat. We’ve been loyal customers for many years but will no longer bother.

It’s a fun place to hang out: warm and inviting. The food is excellent for being bar food. The Irish coffee is good.

Love the Pub, warm and inviting, feel the blarney spirit. Can be crowded, but if you have ever been to a pub in Great Britain you can appreciate the food and atmosphere.

I do really like this place and WOULD give it 5 stars except for the fact that on occasion the service can be slow to inattentive. Overall, however, this place is great. The drinks are always good, and I’ve never had a bad meal. Highly recommended. The only other downside is the front patio is typically packed with smokers and that is the only entrance to get in. Occasionally they have live music from local bands which is a nice touch.

Well stopped in on a Sunday afternoon after shopping. The place wasnt all that packed. People scattered everywhere. Sat up the steps and to the left. Waited for at least 10 minutes before we were asked for our drink order. Then ignored again after at least 3 servers passed by. We asked to move the the other side of the restaurant which was a bit busier. Sat in a booth that hadn’t been cleaned as a family with small kids had taken over the back of the restaurant and had kids running rampant. Sat again someone cleaned it off. No questions asked of us. No greeting. Ended up leaving a 5 on the table and went somewhere else. Maybe they do better service at night for the bar crowd. Oh well

This week we took an adventure to Downtown Naperville’s Quigley’s Irish Pub. Our first thoughts upon entering were that it was dark and cramped. A lot of dividing walls and tables covering the the rooms made it really hard to move around. The sizable bar seemed to be split into a lot of smaller rooms which created a little bit of claustrophobia in us. For us, this was a big negative. During the warm months, your best bet is to try and get a spot outside. Another thing we noticed is what type of crowd this bar draws in. Quigley’s definitely brings in the older crowd. We actually seemed to be the youngest group there. Everyone else was about 35+. This isn’t a negative, but if you’re looking for a more hip bar, then this isn’t the place. YELLING is something you’ll also get used to at this bar. When they’re not playing loud music from the speakers; you’ll be accompanied by a live band that is so close to you that it seems as if they are attempting to sit with you(YOUCAN’T SITWITHUS). Now don’t get us wrong, if there is one thing we like is some music and better yet a live band, but one thing we also enjoy is being able to talk to the person next to us without having to seemingly steal the front man’s mic to communicate. When we finally got to our table and sat down, we were promptly greeted by our server for the night. She was awful. For most of the time we were left looking around for her to see if we could catch her attention. This was a negative for us because we want to feel as if we were wanted and not just money waiting to be collected.
We all decided to go ahead and order our beers and food for the night while we were there. Again our server was nice to start but then took a turn to the other side. We all ordered a beer including on tap and in bottle. One of us asked if the Sam Adams Octoberfest was hoppy and the waitress replied with, «Uh yeah, It’s Octoberfest?» What a turn off! She was so rude and condescending. After asking for an opinion on beer we decided to order food. We ordered a bowl of the French Onion soup which was very bland for our taste and too watery(ew). Our next dish that we decided to order was The Pub Club, which was without a doubt the better of the two. It was hot and fresh. It came with a pickle on the side and a choice of chips, kuskus, or coleslaw. We ordered it with the chips which were hot, fresh and crispy. Their food was very mixed based on the quality of the soup and the sandwich. Its the luck of the draw(or the luck o’ the Irish) to see what type of freshness you will get when you order your food. Overall our thoughts on Quigley’s are mixed. We feel as if this is going to be your first stop for the night then you are going to be in good company as far as number of beers on tap and the people in the bar with you. If you are looking for a more hip, young place to spend most of your night, then this isn’t the place for you. The drinks and food will get your night started and satisfy any apetight you may have. The service is o.k. but it will all depend on the server that you get. Though our waitress was cold and condescending, in previous experiences we have had great servers. If you are looking for a semi-authentic Irish Pub experience, then Quigley’s may be the place to visit. From the traditional dishes to the wide range of beer and live music, good ol’ Quig’s will get your night started on a high note.

Meh. I’d been here for appetizers and drinks over the years, and it is a pleasant place for both. Summer seating is quaint and winter is cozy. Today is the first time that I can recall I came here for a meal. Outdoor seating is still quaint and well shaded, but our salads were sub par as was the service. I think I’ll stick to treating this like a bar.

Went for a birthday dinner. We had a table of 15 people so I knew it was going to be a challenge as large tables tend to be. Unfortunately everything took forever. Not sure how busy the whole restaurant was because I did not walk through the entire place but we were understanding because 1. we had a large group and 2. it was a Saturday night. We ordered many appetizers-salmon, nachos, artichoke dip, and soups. All the appetizers were good. Everyone also seemed pleased with their food. I on the other hand felt the Shepard Pie was bland but once I added a little salt it tasted better. Sadly 4 people in the group did not receive their food until everyone else had finished eating(the ordered 2nd in the group). The manager was very nice and said the food would be taken off the bill for the wait. I was very pleased that they realized the wait time was not normal but it was sad that they ended up taking off so much from out bill… our gain but their loss for sure.

I absolutely love Quigley’s. I came on Friday night with my husband and mother in law for a light dinner. We ordered the fish and chips, reuben rolls and buffalo chicken salad. Everything was pretty good. I absolutely loved the reuben rolls; really flavorful and perfectly fried. The Irish chips that came with the fish and chips were also delicious. Overall we had great service… good enough to where we went back on Sunday for breakfast. The best part about Quigley’s breakfast is their entire menu is available at 10AM! Who doesn’t love that?! Sunday we sat outside on the patio and my favorite part was the fact that dogs are allowed and there is somewhat communal seating. My husband and I shared a bench and a table with an amazing party of 3 and ended up spending 4 hours sitting outside with them! The service was fantastic the entire time. We never felt rushed and they did such a wonderful job of keeping our drinks filled. Now here’s something else that’s phenomenal, we ordered the following: 2 spicy bloody Mary’s(very good and a special on Sundays for only $ 4), 2 snake bites, 1 Moscow Mule, buffalo chicken sandwich with Irish chips and the Irish Bacon omelette(3 egg omelette with 2 hash browns and a side of toast)… ALLFORUNDER $ 50INCLUDINGTAXANDTIP! By far the best money we’ve ever spent at a restaurant. Also, our server was excellent to where he would swing by and let us know if anything else came up on special(i.e. The Moscow Mule for around $ 5.50). Thank you Quigley’s for an amazing Sunday! We will absolutely be back again soon!

I enjoy meeting friends here after work or on the weekend. They have a decent pub menu and a great selection of alcohol. I also enjoy their decent sized patio. I wish they could add on a larger one because it’s a great ambiance. Overall a great place for people of all ages.

I’ve spent about 22 years of my life in Naperville and last week was my first visit to Quigley’s! Okay, granted I’ve only been legal drinking age for like 6 years, but regardless! It’s the only bar downtown Naperville I haven’t been to yet so it had to happen. My husband and I were looking for some live music entertainment for a casual friday night date and after a quick Unilocal search I came across Quigley’s! After reading reviews I was worried about the bar being crowded, so we tried to get there as soon as we could, which ended up being about 8:30 pm(live music started at 9). We were able to score a couple spots up at the bar, but quickly after that the place filled up. Nothing crazy packed, but every seat was definitely occupied. The live music was great! I honestly can’t remember who it was, but we really enjoyed the two guys that performed. I’ll keep the important deets simple: PROS: — Friendly staff! — Live music! — Authentic patrons! Okay, that was probably by chance, but it was awesome hearing some Irish accents from fellow beer drinkers up at the bar :) — Pretty good beer list(plus a full bar of course) — Huge soccer fans! They open early for international games CONS: — Food is less than mediocre(granted we only had one app). We tried the Rueben Rolls which are apparently a house favorite and they were okay. Basically just corned beef in a fried crust with a side of dressing. Meh. — Uncomfortable seating. It may be super authentic, but don’t bank on sitting your tush there for too long! — Not many TVs — this normally wouldn’t bother me because it doesn’t claim to be a sports bar, but if you’re going to be one of the only bars in Nape open for every soccer game you should probs up your merchandise. Their patio is a definite plus, but from what I’ve seen and read it’s unbearably crowded in the warmer months. Looks like I’ll have to go back to check it out myself :)

Ah, Quigley’s Irish Pub. Where they have ALL the Irish classics. Shepherd’s Pie… Guinness Beef… Grilled Cajun Chicken Couscous… I’ve never been to Morocco, but I’ve always wanted to try the couscous there. I have been to New Orleans, and I love the many varieties of chicken; but I remember most of them being sauteed with a nice sauce. Not that they never grill there. And I’ve never been to Ireland, but I can’t wait to try that hearty mix of flavors. I’ll wait until I go there to try the Grilled Cajun Chicken Couscous to try the original first. Until then, the Guinness Beef is quite serviceable, with a hearty, savory flavor. The mash(OK, «champ» in this case) was more than tasty, and it’s nice to get some healthy veg on the side to make it a complete meal. The one dessert that they had, the Bash pie(I thought they meant tonight; my dining companions understood that that’s all they ever have) was tasty. Good comfort food on a chilly night. The ambiance is a bit like the Irish classics: I loved the wooden booth we sat in, and the stained glass, but with the unfinished ceiling, it felt a bit like playing Irish house in a rec room. Love the fireplaces, though we didn’t see them until we sat down in the front room. The service at 5:30 on a Friday evening was prompt and friendly. Being a restaurant-spoiled, arrogant city dweller, Quigley’s is nothing to write home about; I give it a 3-star, Unilocal Ä-OK. And if I’m back in these parts, I might try the Shepherd’s Pie.

If I ever go to a pub in Ireland, Quigley’s Irish Pub is exactly what I imagine it to be like. All of the décor, I kid you not, from the furniture to the stained glass, was imported from Ireland. I was told that this pub was literally designed and built in Ireland and then sent over to none other than the wonderful town of Naperville. How cool is that?! When you walk in, you seat yourself. They do not have a hostess. It very dark inside, crowded and loud which adds to the pub feel. It is really hard to find a seat on evenings, even on weekdays. This place always has customers which really says enough about the restaurant, but I will continue my review anyways. I recommend finding a seat in the very back room near the fireplace. There are only four tables back there and it is nice and quiet, compared to the rest of the bar, if that is what you are looking for. I have been here numerous times since moving to Naperville. Although it is seat yourself, a waitress always tends to find your table in a timely manner, greet you kindly, and take your drinks. They are dressed in cute, little kilts, but appropriate in length. This isn’t the tilted kilt. All of the waitresses have great personalities and always provide excellent customer service. The food is never a disappointment. I’ve had countless items from the menu so it is really hard for me to choose a favorite. If you are looking for a sandwich, I recommend either the french dip or chicken salad sandwiches. They are huge and they come with a side of Irish chips(rounds potato fries). If you are looking for a heartier meal, I recommend the Guinness Pot Roast with Champ(mashed potatoes with lots of melted butter). Lately, I have been ordering the appetizer trio as my meal so I can have a little bit of everything! It comes with three sliders with your choice of cheese(go with the bleu cheese and grilled onions), four or five hot wings, and reuben rolls! They are like fried egg rolls but with sauerkraut, corned beef, cabbage, and whatever other goodness they felt like throwing in there. These rolls are on point. The prices are also really great, especially for a bar/restaurant in Downtown Naperville. The sandwiches are anywhere for 8 to 10 bucks, same with burgers, and the heartier meals are anywhere from 11 to 15 bucks. My appetizer sampler is $ 11.99 which is a great price for the amount of food it comes with and the quality of the food. The only reason I gave this place four stars is because sometimes the waitresses are too nice. They begin having a conversation with the table next to you for 10 minutes and forget to put in your order(yes, this happened). After waiting for awhile and never receiving our food, we finally grabbed her and she very sincerely apologized, but we still had to wait another long while before receiving our food and they did not comp us anything. They could have at least threw in an appetizer or dessert. Another time, they forgot to put in our appetizer and brought our food out first. Again, they apologized but she still never bothered to put the appetizer in or offer any comp. Oh well. My only advice is do not go there on a weekend and expect to be in and out. This place gets packed and the service get slow because the kitchen will get backed up and there are many tables for very few waitresses. If you are gonna eat there on a weekend, expect to be there for at least 2 hours. Have a few beers, and enjoy yourself and the atmosphere. A lot of the time the live music is really great. The patio seating is also really great in the summer time.

Went here on a busy Thursday night with Samantha B, Alex S. and Amanda S. for dinner. There happened to be a band that night, and we were lucky to get a table. Even though they were crowded, our waitress was very attentive and on top of things. We split a Reuben and to my surprise, they separated it so that we both had a side and a pickle. The Reuben was made perfectly with plenty of meat. The coleslaw was above average, but still not my favorite. Splitting the meal and drinking water came out to only $ 11. Better and more food than you would get at Panera. I will say the food took quite a bit of time to come out, but they were extremely busy. On their calendar, they do trivia once a month so that may be something I look forward to in the future.

My visits here have been few and far in between. Having attended college just down the road, you’d think it would have been a top spot, but I never got into it. Fast forward several years, and I visited here several days after the new law where you couldn’t smoke inside. DISGUSTING. It wreaked so badly… I never thought I’d miss the smell of smoke to mask a disgusting bar smell. I hadn’t been in a while until just this weekend for St Patrick’s Day. I ran a 5k in Naperville and then walked over and we were shocked at how easily our group of seven got a table… until we realized they were sitting people but not serving! We had to wait 45 minutes for drinks… I would have gone elsewhere if I had known. The food was the opposite case. We ordered and received it quickly… likely because it was 10am and no one was ordering reuben’s! We got the mini burgers, reuben rolls and Irish chips. I had never had a reuben I liked until Quigley’s. The flavor was incredible and their Killarney sauce is great. Burgers were great as well! I wasn’t a fan of the«chips» — they were more like potato wedges. They have a great list of coffee cocktails and bourbon and I’m sure this place is great for some. But unless I’m sitting on the patio and eating on a nice day, I’ll pass on the dark bar off the main Naperville strip.
