Divey old man bar… that’s the only way to describe this place. From the wood paneling, the pool tables, the old neon signs and the 6 – 10 people that have I assume have literally been sitting in the same spots since the 1970’s, this bar has it all. They don’t however have a kitchen, but the pizza joint next door has a pass through window to the bar and some very good food. On the weekends they do have some great bands and the place is much more lively, but during the day it’s a divey old man bar. Definitely worth checking out for the live music or if you’re just into this type of place.

I’m going to ask you do to do a little homework and cross reference my previous review for White Tavern. Two key things are here no longer: — Big Buck Hunter — The Magic Food window. Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! You can still get food from the pizza place next door, you just have to go outside like a plebeian. Everything else is still good, though.

My first visit was last night, people seemed friendly. The,“magic food window” was a cool. I never expected for a dive bar to be so laid back and chill in Naperville. I’ll definitely be returning for some cheap brews, good times, and interesting people watching.

I tend to favor Thursday nights, because of the pool tournament. I’ve never been there on any other night so far so I can’t comment on what their weekend crowd is like. Thursday night you can get in the pool tournament if you’re there by around 8:15. And the pool tables are open for practice before that… Three nice pool tables there. So far I haven’t met anyone there that I haven’t liked, a friendly bunch of folks overall. Some pretty tasty food comes out of that sliding window in the wall that goes to the pizza place next door. I tried the mac & cheese puffs tonight with ranch dressing and it really hit the spot. Their pizza is really good too.

First visit was Christmas night. Upon walking in there was a live band performing and no one to check my ID. that’s a first. Specials were $ 4 well drinks, $ 2 domestic drafts. Only one bartender on Xmas night, but she was quick, and did a good job. Three pool tables and 2 dart boards($ 1 to play). There was complimentary popcorn. Yummm. And adequate amount of sitting space. I agree with the other reviewers, the bathroom was disgusting, likewise any men’s restroom in Naperville bars. Good food here and good prices. And most of all, not the regular young, reckless crowd. People had their composure and there was a 60⁄40 split between young adults and older adults. Good time. Will definitely visit sometime soon. I just wish there was a bit more parking here.

Been here twice. this place gets the stars for the fact that they have pbr. Other than that, I’m good with not dealing with wannabe hard asses from Naperville.

This bar has always been and will always be the best bar in Naperville! The only place that you can go with no pretentious people hanging around. Whites’ is what it is; I have been coming here for years and will be coming till I die. Put my urn on a shelf above the bar.

I love dive bars, but not this one. Very limited beer selection. The first time I was here the bartender was very rude. The second time, a different bartender was a lot more friendly. Limited parking availble the two times I was here.

Ive been here for a coupe of live shows and it is your local dive that makes you want to order a high life and get a shot of malort. Yes malort… I have still not tried it but Ive been told it tastes like dandelions in liquid form. If that interests you or you are a hippy, biker, rock and roll lover you will fit right in here. The bartenders are running around and pouring pitchers and shots all night long. That being said it is kinda small and you will drive right past it like many people im sure have pointed out. Also the entrance is in the rear when there is live music playing. Kinda weird but who am I to judge. Good cheap beers and some decent live music quality considering the venue. Go and get yourself a shot of malort and tell me what it tastes like.

Last time I was in here I accidentally stepped on a dog. That’s how good this place is. Oh, White Tavern! Let me start by saying I love you… HELLO! This is what you get when you walk in the door: –Original 70’s décor –Cheap draft pitchers of beer –Darts, Pool and Big Buck Hunter –Decent cheap bar food you order through a random window in the wall Its like Miss Kitty’s Saloon without the Elk Lodge-y, racist vibes and with better music. Only downside to this gem are the bathrooms. Single person. Kinda gross. Rubbing elbows with a water heater. And there’s a pretty low window out to the smoking area. But really, that just adds to the charm of the best dive bar in Naperville.

Crowded, but laid-back. Good music playing, and cheap booze to cap off your night or get your party started! They got pool and darts here, so knock yourselves out. It is located just west of Ogden and Columbia. I would say this is a no frills, down-to-earth bar. There is nothing too unique about this place, but they do their job. The parking here sucks, but if you are going to a bar, I would recommend the buddy system.

Fun people, good service, cheap booze, good music! This is a simple bar, enjoy it for what it is! If you want to see and be seen in Naperville travel to other places. If you want a fun night with your friends, drink cheap, shoot pool, throw darts, catch a game and no drama of BS, party on at White’s!

The 2 greatest dives of Naperville would have to be the Can or White’s. It’s our circle’s version of ‘beatles or the stones’, because you can’t love them both the same; you’ve got to pick one or the other. Although I fall more on the Can side of things, I don’t mind one bit going here(especially since the smoking ban, that was my only gripe with the place). Brian H. is probably one of my favorite bartenders this side of the WI border. NOTTOMENTION — BESTMETALJUKEBOXEVERRRRR

A dive bar, yes. Pool tables & the beers are cheap. White’s is basic is every way. But the bartender, Courtney, is the best. She is attentive, fast and is friendly to everybody. That’s what brings me back every time!

Formica, dirty tile, nasty bathrooms, cold beer, and a great crowd. Amazing how much more cold beer and a great crowd matter than where you take a leak.

The White Tavern(most the time called White’s by the regulars) is one of those small dive bars with nothing fancy to offer, but that is really what gives it its charm. Things the bar offers. 1. Digital junk box($ 1.00 gets you one song.) 2. Two electronic dart boards. 3. Two pool tables(the tables are old, and they show their age.) 4. One Buck Hunter arcade game. 5. One Golden Tee arcade game. Pros: 1. The staff is very friendly. 2. You don’t have to wait long at the bar to get a drink. 3. New comers can easily jump into a game of darts or pool with the regulars. 4. Plenty of parking right outside the door. 5. At close there is normally a cab or two will just show up for people who need them. 6. During the week it is a really chilled out sort of place. During the weekends it gets a little busy, but not so busy that it is difficult to move around or have a conversation. Cons: 1. There is a indoor smoking ban in all of Illinois, so smokers are going in and out the front and back doors often. This is not a big deal except when it is cold outside, because the doors opening and closing often makes the bar kind of cold. 2. The bar has one of those digital junk boxes where you can pay a dollar to play a song. Sometimes there is a group of hard core metal heads there who will put in lots of money, and as a result there will be long period of time with loud metal playing.

Living within a $ 5 cab ride from here, Whites is the goto when I don’t feel like going anywhere. If you like a place where there are no posers, no pretenders, no expectations — this is it. The bartenders are cool once you get to know them and the ‘regulars’ are always fun to hang with. Before 9pm there is a good chance you will be sitting by yourself, after that there is a fun(not huge — but fun) crowd. As of now, its my go to bar for getting liquored up close to home. Thank you, goodnight.

Located across from Grandma’s, you can easily swing in for a quick beer. No one was in here for about five minutes. The bartender comes out of the bathroom with some silly grin and asks what we need. ‘PBR. Times 8. Pleasssssssse. Twenty bucks shooter’ No ids were asked. No other questions were asked why we needed 8 PBRs for only three people. She slanged the beers and went back to sitting on our side of the bar to watch Home and Garden. Two pool tables and dart boards. And an arcade game of Bags/cornhole.
