Chef Kelly Bailey is awesome!!! Cooking with her was a blast. We learned so many good tips and tricks and techniques. Our final dishes turned out AMAZING!!! Every bite was just as delicious as the next. This was such a perfect date night. If only the classes were BYOB haha! Everyone there was so happy and ready to cook. Plus we were offered espressos at the beginning. Such a wonderful time. Thanks Chef Kelly!

I took my second cooking class here, and just like my first class it was fun and I learned some new skills. It was this last Sunday, the class was Authentic Mexican cooking, where we learned to make sopes, and two different toppings for them, corn and poblano peppers with queso fresco and corizo with potatoes, a delicious little salsa that i absolutely loved, charred tomatillo salsa and refried black beans. I am of Mexican decent, I knew how to make most of these things, but I still learned a lot from it. Their versions of the food were actually more authentic then what i knew. The chef instructing the class was Laura Fresh, she was very clear in directions and knowledgeable with answers whenever I asked questions. Her helping staff was great too, they made the class run smoothly by ensuring we were prepared with everything we needed. They seemed very passionate about their work and helped the students understand things like basic knifing cutting skills, when we were chopping up ingredients. I never knew i wasn’t cutting correctly all these years. The class I was in was pretty small, there were 6 of us total, everyone was very friendly. At the end we all ate our dishes we prepared. I am already planning my next class, but this time with my cousin. I want to take Exploring Italy: Sicily. Will update soon!

I was given a gift certificate to take one of their«date night» cooking classes with my honey. As a culinary teacher, I can say that you always have something more to learn. They had refreshments and a cheese plate for us to enjoy throughout the cooking process. Each step was clearing explained to us before we had to go and complete the task. You cook in a group of four so everyone helps make the recipes and shares the food. It’s always more fun when everyone has a turn so the teacher in me made sure that everyone in my table was involved. Menu was delicious! Herb rubbed pork tenderloin with balsamic glaze, potato pancakes with salmon topping, roasted brussel sprouts with hazelnuts, and a chocolate ganache pie with a cookie crust. Everything was delicious. You’re encouraged to shop around the store while everything is finishing in the oven.(10% off your purchases!) One complaint is that they don’t have chairs for you to sit down and enjoy everything you made — you eat standing up. Though it is very fun to learn and prepare new things — be aware that the serving sizes are not huge and it will be approximately 90 – 120 minutes before it is eating time. They also only allow BYOB alcohol at private events. They are working on getting a liquor license.

Attended a private birthday party/cooking class for a family member. 15 adults and we had a really great time. We learned a few things, ate an amazing dinner, and no clean up! Chef Kat Weathers was knowledgeable and patient with our rowdy little group. I HIGHLY recommend the experience. The entire staff was helpful; cleaning up, assisting with prep, and cooking when needed. Can’t say enough good things about our evening there.

After reading some of the bad reviews of Sur La Table’s cooking classes, I felt compelled to write a review of the Sur La Table cooking class I attended. I took a Great Foods Inspired by Jamie Oliver class and had a great experience. The class started on time, was very organized, and we ate an amazing meal. Renee was an outstanding instructor and was very knowledgeable about the cooking techniques and ingredients we used in the class. I would definitely recommend Sur La’s cooking classes!

This review is for their cooking classes. I attended their hands-on French cooking class with a friend and had such a GREAT time! The teacher was patient with the class and taught us many techniques, including knife skills. After watching the demo, we were given a station to work at with another couple. The portions of the meal were plenty, as you eat everything you make! We prepared seared duck breast with a wine/shallot sauce and created the most delicious salad with beets and hazelnut dressing. Of course, we ended the lesson with a crème brûlée. When it comes time for me to take another cooking class, I will be attending one at Sur La Table. They have many to choose from.

Sur La Table is expensive,. Duh. You can find some awesome wares, but I’m pretty much a browser in there. But I just had to try a class. I received a class gift card for Christmas and was pretty psyched about taking my first cooking class at Sur. I took«Hearty Vegetarian Dinners» with Cecil Rodriguez. He was a great teacher. My class had about 12 people, six per working station. There was a mix of students with various degrees of cooking experience, but everyone seemed to have a lot of fun. The menu consisted of Vegetarian Pot Pie(really yummy) Meatless Meatloaf(kind of bland) with Mushroom Gravy(great), Risotto with Asparagus and Fennel(awesome) and Peanut Butter Cream Pie(cop-out recipe for lazy peeps). I had fun and learned about veggie prepping and enjoyed the fruits(and veggies) of my labor. A few improvements? Ya. Have more gourmet vegetarian and vegan classes and let us take home left-overs. Sur does not have a «carry-out license» and doesn’t allow students to take home left-overs. Drag. Over-all, I had a great time.
