Sad to read that they are closing today. They were a favorite place for my teens to go.

Yeah man, super righteous people over here. And I love the homey ambiance with the mismatched dining tables and chairs, and the folk art and kitschy ancillary furnishings. There was a group of women knitting at one of the tables over their coffee and ice cream-you don’t see that everyday, and really, it’s a welcomed site, as it beats the hell out of a bunch of impolite gen y’ers loudly and rudely talking about their sex lives, or lack thereof as it were(happened at the noodles on 75th the other day). I’m a little confused by the menu however. There appears to be little in terms of specialization and menu organization. I would recommend some refinements to make it more user friendly. I went with the chicken Panini, and while it was very tasty, it wasn’t really what I expected-it was more like chicken salad than a distinct piece of chicken with cheese and artichoke spread. Nice salads and tasty mac and cheese. Also, quite reasonable.

My friend and I were looking for a lunch spot where we could get some fresh and healthy grub, when we came across Wicked Good Café. I fell in love with this place. It is a small café located in the same strip mall as Binny’s Beverage Depot on Ogden. The décor was eclectic with little knick-knacks here and there, and gave off this great comfy, cozy feel. It was very clean and had a lot of seating. Since it was our first time here, we took forever to order because everything on the menu sounded so great! The young girl at the register was so patient with us and very kind. She was also very knowledgeable when it came to the menu and gave us a few great recommendations(as did some of the customers, they were super friendly)! I ordered the Ham and Cheese Quiche with a side salad and a drink for $ 8. My friend ordered the Ivy League Spinach Wrap, chips and a drink for $ 7. Great deal! You can create your own side salad, which is what I did. You get to pick one cheese out of like five or six different kinds(mozzarella, cheddar, feta, bleu, etc.), one dressing, and five toppings(onion, tomato, egg, bacon, cukes, banana peppers, mushroom, etc). We waited a long while before our food came, at least 20 to 25 minutes. I’m not sure if that was because they were making the quiche from scratch or what, so I’m not going to complain. When it finally came, it looked great. My friends wrap was huge(she only ate half of it) and it had wonderful fresh, crisp ingredients. My salad was delicious, of course, because I created it myself ;) My quiche was just OK. It tasted more like a frittata because it was very, VERY eggy and it didn’t come in a pie crust which is how I like my quiche. Also, it didn’t have very much ham in it, but it still tasted pretty good. I am very much looking forward to my next visit at Wicked Good Café. When I checked in, there was a coupon for 50% of a specialty coffee. Cool! I will definitely be back for their mac and cheese burgers, quesadillas, and piña colada smoothies.

I had my rehearsal dinner for here. It was very cute. They tried so hard to please us. It made me very happy that there are still places like this that want to go beyond what they say they will do. They arranged it where we would have live music. And it was a father daughter acoustic style folk act. They helped set the mood. And although, not many of our guests remarked much about it. I was happy and felt confident that this was the right choice. They made me feel at ease and I could actually talk to my guests. It was by far the cheapest place around. They helped us pick a nice menu. Everything was included. Even a cupcake at the end… and those are amazing. This place is great. Just to give you an idea of why we went with this place. We happened to be in the area, I think picking out our tuxes. We saw the place and thought we’d give it a try. After I ordered and sat down I said, Man I wish I would’ve gotten the soup too… They rn me over a cup for free. They were actual excited to please us. Now keep in mind we already had a deposit on someplace else… we canceled even if we would have lost money it’s the right choice. Thanks Wick Good Café, you made things so much easier for us and it was very comfortable setting for a great night.

So I would really like to go back and give this place another go. I went after a workout one day, just wanting to get a salad or wrap. They have both of those. However, I got the beef and cheddar panini, which(I think) was repurposed taco meat on bread with cheese, pressed warm into a panini, and then served with homemade chips. It tastes exactly how it sounds… ground meat with cheese on warm pressed bread. I probably could have made it at home. It was good, don’t get me wrong… but it was a very economical sandwich. The place is cute, like a cozy coffeeshop/hangout. They have live music on Friday nights, and it always looks like there is a small crowd in there. I feel like I’d definitely hang out here if I was in high school, because they have fun coffee drinks, board games, snacks, couches, and art. The place has ambiance worked out, so I think I just ordered the wrong thing. Next time I’ll get a coffee and a scone or something more along the lines of what this place probably specializes in.

Great little place hidden in the shopping center. Decided to eat here after reading reviews and I enjoy supporting small restaurants. Service– very friendly employee. Owner was there in the kitchen and preparing the meal. Food– order the Yale wrap which the employee recommended. Great wrap nice and fresh. Also purchase two moon pies which come direct from Maine. Restaurant small family environment. Will come again and try other items. Great friendly staff. These are the components I look for in a family restaurant.

Colleagues and I dropped in here for lunch. They have good quality servings and our lunches were in the $ 6.50 range. They were good, but I would say on the somewhat skimpy side. I had their wicked good quesadillas(spinach, artichoke, chicken, and cheese), and others had the same as well as a Sloppy Joe sandwich. On Fridays, you get a free cookie(gingerbread or chocolate chip on this day) with your entrée. The place is cozy and small, but there was enough seating at lunch time. There is one big table at the front and it was occupied on two occasions by a group of about 8 each time, so larger groups do convene here for lunch(just have to do it one at a time though!).

I’ve driven past Wicked Good Café many many times, and I’m not sure why it took me so long to check it out… I’m glad I finally did! This is the kind of coffee shop I like. I used to frequent The House Café when I lived in DeKalb, and I’ve been hoping to find something with a similar«vibe» near where I currently live. Found it! Wicked Good Café features plenty of art and other interesting stuff to look at, great coffee, and nice people! I just had a plain-old cup of joe — next time I’m gonna have to try one of their other fantastic looking(and smelling) coffee-related drinks. I also consumed a delicious chicken panini. Additionally, they offer wraps, quesadillas, soups, and something called a «Mac Burger» that I will likely be purchasing the next time I’m there. Did I forget to mention that they gave me a FREECOOKIE with my order?!? What’s not to like about THAT?!?

Wicked Good. Wicked Cool. Wicked Awesome. I have bookmarked this place for a while, and today I finally got to stop by. The atmosphere feels like you are at your friend’s place, with unique and quirky wall art and decorations, the staff is so friendly and helpful, and so relaxing to stay for a cup of coffee or a meal. It’s so hard to find a good café like this in the suburbs, where Starbucks is the dominant café hangout spot. I am so glad to have found a privately owned café like this. I had the Wicked Brew, and it was SO good. It was served in a large mug and the perfect pick me up if you’re craving something that will wake you up as well as satisfy your sweet tooth. The place is clean, with lots of seating options, free wifi, and board games available to play. What I loved is that you don’t feel rushed to leave after sitting at a table for a while. My friend and I spent a good couple hours just sitting there drinking coffee and playing trivia games. They offer different deals throughout the week, like $ 1 taco Mondays and Trivia Thursdays where you receive 10% off your bill for answering a trivia question correctly, which is awesome. The owner is so friendly and you’re just able to strike up a conversation with him. I will definitely be coming back next time and trying their food items. tl;dr: Great friendly atmosphere, come here for great service and a darn good cup of coffee.

Stopped in with the family on a cold Saturday evening… just looking for something warm to drink & some dessert. Wasn’t sure they’d even be open past 5pm… and so glad we tried! The coffee was great. The desserts were delicious. And the hospitality could not have been warmer!!! And they had free live music on Saturday night. In a world where that crappy S-chain is forcing all local coffee shops out of business… this place is a hidden gem and a shining ray of hope! Next time I will try the lunch or dinner menu.

Finally made it in to Wicked Good for a light lunch. Rick couldn’t have been more personable. We had broccoli soup, tuna panini and the taco salad. When we were ordering we noticed an amazing looking apple pie sitting on the counter. Rick said, «I made it. I just took it out of the oven.» Rick gave us the Trivia quiz before he rang us up. We missed the first question so he asked us another. We got that one so he took 10% off our bill. We enjoyed our food. I told rick to leave the jalapenos out of the salad. It needed some heat. Our biggest mistake, we didn’t save room for a piece of that pie!

Wonderful service, and better quesadillas. We stopped in here after taking a quick trip to the Apple Store. First of all, it’s lovely on the inside. If you poke around the back of the shop, you’ll find issues of an obscure farm magazine, with lots of information about quilting and a little information about homesteading and farming. That’s reflected in the rest of the restaurant; it kind of, sort of feels like you wandered into a café, if it was located in Princeton. Only with modern LED light fixtures. Anyways, the service was excellent. They provided crackers and cheese to go with the quesadilla for the baby, and the adult quesadillas were also excellent. Lots of flavor in the southwestern quesadillas, served with some fresh, chunky salsa and tortilla chips. Checking in brought free dessert, so I had a slice of apple pie with ice cream. Unfortunately the only flavor available was chocolate ice cream, but oh well; the apple pie was warm, fresh, crusty and perfect. I love that this place tries to go the extra mile to serve their customers. I can’t wait to come back.

I never knew this little gem existed, as it is nestled in Cress Creek Square next to Office Max, and I am not in this area very often. But, after learning of WGC’s existence on Unilocal,I decided to give it a go. I ventured over on my lunch break, and was immediately greated warmly by Rick, and the guy running the register(name unknown, but very friendly guy!) While deciding on what to order, Rick and I chatted about Indian food(random, I know), but it was a genuine conversation and it was discovered neither of us are huge fans and we are bewildered with all the new indian food restaurants exploding on the scene. Anyway! I ordered a veggie panini, sans mushrooms(yuck!). As Rick made my order, he jokingly asked«With extra curry, right?» and we both laughed. What a character! I liked this guy– glad to see he interacts with his customers. We also discussed German food and I gave him the name of two places I know of. Ahhh, sorry– back to the topic. Five minutes or so later, my order was ready. I gave my thanks and wished both the men a great weekend, and headed back to work. I opened my to-go box and discovered a little slice of heaven tucked amongst my chips. A beautifully made panini with red onions, gooey melty cheese, sweet bell pepper slices, and spinach(and no mushrooms– yay!). The first bite was incredible. With just a few toppings, it’s amazing how much flavor is packed into such a great sandwich. I was a bit sad when I had finished; I wanted more! The only thing I noticed was the lack of a pickle. I thought all sandwiches came with one(as well as the chips). Seeing as how I’ve had a cluster headache all day, it’s possible I may have misread something. Either way, not a dealbreaker. I love supporting small businesses, and I will make it a point to eat here again in the near future. Well done, Wicked Good Café!

A cute, cozy little caffe in the middle of an otherwise gloomy strip mall in Naperville? Count me in! I finally got my butt over here for the first time today and I was glad I did. I knew I’d like it based on the New England-y name, and I was right. The price for the coffee might seem a bit steep, except that it actually tastes good and you get all the free refills that you want. I didn’t try any of the fancier beverages so I’m not sure if they can be made vegan or not. There also appears to be quite the selection of sandwiches, salads and other solid consumables. The owner was super nice and fun to talk to. You can tell he really cares, and that makes me feel especially good that I didn’t go to Starbucks instead! Apparently they have live music on Friday nights, so I’ll have to check that out some time. The only way this place could be better is if it were within walking distance of my apartment, but it’s probably good that it’s not, as I’d undoubtedly be here like every day.

10.15.2013 Update: I like this place so much that I had to review it again. Remember when you could go to a shoppe and they welcomed you and took a few moments to get to know you? Do you miss the places you could go for coffee, pastries and lunch and just relax? Do you like to go where everyone knows your name? Do you like the coffee shoppe from the show Friends? You need to go to Wicked Good. It’s atmosphere is something that is greatly missed in many coffee shoppes and eateries these days. The food is amazing but what really makes this place are the owners, employees, atmosphere and dedication to the community. Also, 64 reviews and 4.5 stars?! Wow! 8.23.2013 Review: You don’t see many places like Wicked Good Café anymore. Wicked Good is family owned and a wonderful part of the community. The food is amazing, the baked foods are unique and delicious and their drinks, from coffee to smoothies, are perfect. My favourite is the chicken Caesar wrap aka, the Ivy League. I am addicted! I also really enjoy their piña colada smoothies! Not only is their food good, the owners and employees are super friendly and helpful. The owners of this shop give back to their community in many ways and are well-known friendly faces around town! A true treasure in a corporate-coffee-shop world.

Hey, how ’bout a good ol’ fashion pro and con list! Pros: + Service with a smile and friendly conversation. + Giant drink sizes with not one but two handles! It’s like a grown up sippy cup mug! + Whimsical coffee/foam art + Nice selection of pastries and items on their café menu + Cozy Atmosphere with a plethora of doors as decorations– seven to be exact. + BOARDGAMES!!! + A TV monitor with a fireplace screensaver + It’s a local ma and pop shop + Ample Parking Con: — I found a tiny piece of lettuce or some sort of leafy green in my cappuccino. No biggie. I was almost done with my cup and it didn’t effect the flavor or anything. Overall, I’d come back again. I’m pretty intrigued that they have live music and I would like to try a meal there. My cappuccino and carrot cake muffin were a-ok!

Had a couple of hours to kill before yoga. Had to study. Only non-Starbucks non-Caribou coffee house I could find in the area. Warm friendly greeting as soon as I walked through the door. Bonus points for being mistakened for a college student(since I graduated 7 years ago). More points for: –cute mason jars –free refills on iced coffee –fresh flowers @ the tables –Boggle –free wifi They also have live music fridays 7−9pm.

Eating my lunch and drinking my coffee as I write this… Remember the Central Perk on Friends? This is as close as you’re going to get. It’s independently-owned, lots of tables and chairs for seating, and they have live music on Friday nights. I believe Rick is the owner. He is eager to talk to his customers, tell them about the menu, and just converse with them in general. It was my first time here, as well as the guy in line behind me, and Rick was so enthusiastic talking about wraps, and why they can’t make sandwiches there(you’ll have to ask, I’m not telling you), that I actually walked out with a big, dopey grin on my face. I got lunch and a few seconds of happiness that made me forget about going back to work. Anyway, I had«The Brown» wrap and a «Lighthouse» coffee. Delicious! They offer 3 different types of tortilla, which has me head over heels in love with this place. The dude behind the counter(I don’t remember his name, or if he had a nametag, but he looked like a «Nate» or an «Andy»). Anyway, Nate/Andy had a whoopsie with my coffee, so he asked Rick to step in. If I was at some chain coffee joint, I probably would’ve gotten the oops instead of a fresh beverage. I’d go here for a light dinner, breakfast, or just to have coffee and hang out. The cupcakes are colossal and I can’t wait to try one on my next visit. There are also bins of candy against the wall. My only complaint is that there are no chips with the wrap or sold separately, but this place is so cool I forgot about it. I would generally order a cup of soup, but the soup of the day today was chili. And I know, I’m probably the ONLY person on earth who doesn’t like chili… get over it! Bottom line, the food is made with fresh, quality ingredients, and they take care in prepping your coffee. I’ll probably be back tomorrow.

Being accustomed to the scarcity of indie coffee shops in the NW burbs, we were pleased to see that in the W burbs, we had Options. Namely, there was the yarn one, the churchy one, the collegiate one, the one where all the drinks are named after animals, and, of course, the one with the cute witchy font on its website. Witchy it is! We couldn’t believe how friendly the owner was. She treated us like family and seemed to be good friends with everyone walking through the door. I ordered a spinach feta quiche and Wolf R. got a chicken salad and the chili(only available on Tuesdays). The quiche was quite tasty, though I was a bit sad that it was crustless. My partner LOVED the chili, comparing it favorably to his mother’s and declaring, «I could just eat this constantly.» I stole a tiny illegitimate taste and promptly had one of those«maybe I’ll just not be vegetarian anymore» moments: P I also did the Unilocal check-in deal, which was a free iced tea or lemonade with purchase. In Mason jars, hehe! Not only did she offer a free glass to my partner too, she made sure we knew that we could get free refills. I recommend getting it with the peach flavor, yum. While I perused the baked goods, the owner explained the various items and informed me of the cranberry almond scones that were currently in the process of baking. Sold! They was fabulous, HUGE, super flavorful and a little softer than usual. Would have killed for some clotted cream right about then. When we wanted another scone to go, they had run out(she’d just put another batch in the oven), so we ordered a cranberry cookie instead and she gave it to us for free. Wow. I was so impressed by the generosity and the small batches. A great thing when it comes to scones, because they’re enormously better when freshly baked.(I should add that I shared the cookie with my brother later, and he exclaimed that it reminded him of his childhood, haha.) I do wish they were playing some music to drown out the cooler noise. Also, it was kind of chilly when we were there, so not quite as comfy as we’d prefer. We were wishing the virtual fireplace was real :). Will definitely be back! The wifi was great for getting some work done.

My mom had told me about this«cute little café I just HAVE to take you to!» when we pulled up next to the boxes and office max I was a little worried! The décor is so cute and you are greeted as soon as you walk in by both the staff and the candy ! I almost had to buy some right then and there! Mom got a salad and my sister and I both got wraps, all we’re very delicious! Looking around, you just feel like you are at your friends cute place eating lunch! I loved the silverware and plates, eclectic and pretty! Will definitely return and try a salad next time I am in Naperville!
