Audubon Golf and Country Club is Naples hidden gem. The subdivision is simply gorgeous, expanding from US41 past Vanderbilt Road all the way to the bay. If you are looking for a great, safe community with amazing neighbors, this place is for you!!! It is great for families AND retirees! Shhhh. .. don’t let too many people know :) Prices right now are RIGHT and they have AMAZING Courtyard Homes. .. very FL!!!

We came into this sleepy community for lunch. The Clubhouse overlooks a golf course, a lake, and a regulation croquet court. Two players, dressed in white, took their shots at square wickets. This isn’t the sport you pulled from a sagging cardboard box when you were a kid. This is chess on the lawn. The fresh cookies were offered in baskets on a buffet table shared by soup tureens. Most Naples golf clubs set out fresh cookies for the golfers in both the dining rooms and the locker rooms. It’s an indoor sport to guess how the cookies will be presented at any particular venue. Service was casual and friendly. We had delicious Reubens. I always like to see how«properly dressed» is actually practised. Country Club casual at Audubon doesn’t veer from the the usual golf togs for lunch. Another recent phenom is the gradual replacement of chairs and banquettes in dining rooms, both public and private. Audubon has fine examples of the trend, with a gathering of what I affectionately call Fat Ass seats. They’ve also chosen chairs with wheels to move across the carpet with ease.
