Great staff. Extremely reasonable prices, but not a lot of high end stuff. Worth a visit. The staff is nice, but I’ve rarely met a mean volunteer in Naples. They are volunteering for the love of it and maybe the sunshine helps improve their disposition.

A GOODSHOP. A GREATCAUSE. I can’t think of a better local cause to support than The Guadalupe Center. Donate whatever you can. And when you do, buy something, even if you don’t need it. You’ll be helping the children of migrant workers get a head start in life. The benefits of early childhood education cannot be underestimated.

Everyone’s familiar with the trope«Eat Local». More should open their hearts to serve local causes. In Collier County, such a place is Guadalupe Center. Every day, more than 1,000 children of mostly migrant worker families in Immokalee, FL benefit from early childhood education and its associated Tutor Corps for teens through Guadalupe Center. The organization’s resale shop offers volunteer opportunities to raise money through retailing of quality clothes, household goods, and consigned furniture. I walked past the new Rolls Royce parked outside and entered a large space staffed by upbeat, helpful volunteers. The place smelled great from that week’s delivery of bouquets from a supporter. Selling for $ 1 each, two bouquets went home with me.
