We went to this place on a whim. The dining area is crowded with tables and people will bump into you all the time trying to navigate around. Although our server tried very hard to be attentive, it was overkill at first and then non-existent. The food was ok. Nothing to brag about but not bad. My only complaint was that the oil in the deep fryer needs to be changed badly. All in all, it was not bad and we may, or may not go back.

Saturday 4:30pm Very disappointing to go order. I live close by and would love this place to be good. I’ve given them multiple opportunities but they are inconsistent and screw up easy stuff. This place isn’t inexpensive and the food just falls short. I love their Filet and Broccoli($ 18) when done right but tonight and not for the first time it was bad. It’s made by dredging filet cubes in flour and stir frying them with mushrooms to make a thicken sauce. What they have done now for the third and last time for me is dipped precooked filet in flour and quickly stir fried resulting in very watery sauce(see pic) and beef that’s covered in RAW flour. Pretty gross. Broccoli was raw, also. They have forgotten to include rice, mushu pancakes and sauce in previous orders. Most of their dishes are bland even when it says spicy on the menu. I complained that my spicy beef wasn’t and the manager told me its spiced with black pepper. Setting aside the fact that black pepper isn’t spicy, the dish wasn’t seasoned at all. And don’t bother complaining because they just get defensive and do nothing to make it right. «So, what do you want me to do?» With no apology. Amateur hour.

Excellent! We had a great meal & drinks. The Crispy Duck was well prepared & very tasty & the Mongolian beef was just as good. The female waitress gave great service & we will return soon. Thanks Omei!

We thought they were closed when we first drove by last night as the windows are covered by sunscreen drapes on the inside and no lights can be seen from outside. To our delight we proceeded inside and found they were even doing a better job than last year. This is the best Chinese food we’ve found in Naples. The restaurant is very clean with white linens table cloths along with beige cloth napkins. Everything is top shelf and high quality even before you order your food. The food was marvelous. Be sure to try the pineapple flavored fried rice and the Mongolia Beef dish. The beef was very tender and of high quality. The owner is right on top of everything as she visited each table at the end of service to be sure we were satisfied. We will be back. for sure!

I looked at the menu online with co-workers and placed an order for lunch. When I got there the prices were 1.00−4.00 more expensive. The manage refused to honor the prices off their online menu because they were in the process of raising their prices for season. What a joke.

Agree with David O. who posted on this review. We had fantastic Pekin Duck with excellent plum sauce and pancakes. I had Pekin duck in many places, but this was the BEST one. The place was very clean and nice interior. The service was very good. I highly recommend this Chinese restaurant.

I cannot remember when I have read such conflicting reviews of a restaurant so we were quite skeptical upon deciding to try Omei Chinese Bistro off Naples Blvd., last night. Not to worry. The restaurant is beautiful. White leather chairs and clean modern lines and white tablecloths. Cale our server was top notch and the food was excellent. Don’t hesitate to give Omei a try, likely the best Chinese in Naples.

WORSTEXPERIENCEEVER! I have not written a review before, but the waitress was so awful and the owner was one of the rudest people I’ve met so I felt the need. I will start by saying I do enjoy the food, although it is hit and miss. The waitress I had tonight for the third time is very strange, rude, and slow. Took an hour to get our meals. When I ordered my hot sake the waitress said«you won’t like it» and walked away; it was decent. The lettuce wraps came with too few pieces of lettuce, so we asked for some more and our waitress said sure. When we got the bill, the 4 pieces of lettuce cost $ 4.50. My gf has IBS and cannot eat onions or garlic her meal had onions even though the waitress assured her it would be okay to get it without, she picked around them. When we told the waitress there were onions she said«just so you know, that’s bok choy.» It wasn’t. The meal was honestly good though. My Mu Shu Pork had too few pancakes(flour tortillas). To get more it cost $ 5, I declined. At least I was told beforehand I suppose. We explained how we were upset about the extra charges to the waitress, she told us if she were in charge of would be free for extra lettuce but told us the owner would not change her mind. We asked for her anyway. After 10 minutes we asked where she was and the waitress said she didn’t want to come out because she was talking with her daughter(who was very young, maybe 6 or 7, and walking around the kitchen with her fingers in her mouth). After saying we won’t leave until she comes out, she finally came out. She walked up and said«hello?» and very nicely we explained we enjoy our food every time we come here, but the service is extremely slow, and the food was extra salty tonight, and my Dad, who was upset, said he thought it was very cheap to charge $ 4.50 for a few pieces of lettuce and $ 5 for a couple flour tortillas and he won’t come back again, MIDSENTENCE the owner says«okay thank you» and walks away. Extremely rude, terrible business, and I with an attitude like that you shouldn’t be in business. MINDYOU, their other location just closed down and have I believe a 77 health rating, a C. The guy behind the bar and the young blondish waitress are both very nice, though. TL;DR Waitress is extremely strange, took over an hour(not unusual there), messed up order, they overcharge for little things and don’t tell you their extra, and the owner basically told us we can go f**k ourselves.

We just tried to have dinner at the 14700 Tamiami Trail Omei Restaurant and it was a dismal experience. Our first request for steamed vegetables was denied because the«chefs don’t deviate from their recipes». Our appetizers arrived in a reasonable amount of time and then we waited, and waited, and waited. When we asked our waitress about when we could expect our food she said«I don’t know, we don’t speak the same language». I speak English and they speak Chinese”. After 1 hour and 40 minutes of waiting we were told by our waitress they she had no idea why it was taking so long and that it was her last week of working there… and then she shrugged. She was very happy to give us the name of the next restaurant where she would be working.(We have already made note to never go there) We told her to cancel our order and give us our check… which she promptly did. On our way out other diners told us that they had/have the same experience at this location. They said that the service has deteriorated since they opened their second location(Napes Blvd.) We were sorry to hear this as the small amount of food we had was very good. We will not be back.

My wife and myself were planning on dining at oMei last night but my wife feeling a little under the weather we decided to do Take Out instead. I arrived at the restaurant just before 6pm Saturday night and was surprised that only 9 of the 22 tables were occupied and no one was sitting at the bar. Perhaps a little early I thought. I sat at the bar and was greeted by a little over the top friendly bartender. While checking out the menu I ordered a Beefeaters gin and tonic($ 9) with a twist on lemon. This was served pretty promptly — with a lime(strike one). I placed my to go food order with the barman. A few minutes later a couple came in and sat at the bar close to me. They chatted with the bartender, asking him how long the restaurant had been at this location and if they had a second location. The bartender said they had a second location but he wasn’t really sure where it was — «maybe two miles north of Immokalee Road ?? The couple ordered from the bartender who gave them his recommendations. After about ten to fifteen minutes, the bartender served soup to the couple — which the gentleman told the bartender the soup wasn’t the one he ordered — a and the bartender apologized and put in a new order for soup which was served shortly after, After approx 30 minutes of waiting I asked the bartender if he could check on my food order. He returned from the kitchen and told be that two of the three items I ordered were ready and he was waiting for the third to come up to complete the order. After another five minutes the bartender went back to the kitchen — returned empty handed — order still not ready. Another five minutes went by and the bartender went back to the kitchen and returned with a bag, handed the bag to me and apologized for the wait and I paid my $ 48 tab plus $ 5 tip. I thought 40 minutes for an order that didn’t have to be plated was a little excessive particularly I view of the fact that the couple sitting at the bar who came in after me were well into their meal. Glad to have my order, I made it to my car — but then decided to check my order to see if the food was anyway hot — as my guess was that some of the order was probably sitting around for a while. Glad I did check the order while in the parking lot and not waited until I got home, as I had been served the wrong order. I returned to the restaurant and told the bartender that I had been given someone else’s to go food order. He called over an Asian lady who might have been a manager(she did not introduce herself to be or address me in any way) who took the order I was given back to the kitchen. After another ten minutes waiting, I received my order. The food was ok — Crispy Duck w/white rice — 4 stars, Chicken Lettuce Wraps — 3 stars(nowhere close to Cheesecake Factory or AZN) and Salt & Pepper Calamari — 1 star So overall food rating — 3 stars and service 1 star /2 star aggregate. Won’t be rushing back to oMei anytime soon — sure glad they weren’t busy while I was there last night and I probably wouldn’t be home yet if there were.

O’Mei brings more than an ounce of class to Chinese cuisine. It caters to the area and demographic with their menu offerings and ambiance. What seems to be a cursed location with previous restaurants that have come and gone, I have high hopes that this place because they might have just gotten it right. I was there for another business luncheon, and it added a lovely sense of zen for intimate conversation. It was exactly what we needed as we were discussing work. The restaurant was tastefully designed with pops of red and neutral colors, white comfy leather seats and the classy white linens. It was also nice to see the restaurant stay to the tradition of round tables which is commonly seen in Chinese restaurants to enhance the«family style» dishes and better conversation. The service was great. We had a few special requests and everything was accommodated without question or confusion. Timing was also right, and timing is something we take for granted until it affects us negatively. Therefore, I have to bring this to light for a job well done. I ordered the Singapore noodles, with a lovely taste of light curry, shrimp and chicken with rice noodles. They were perfectly done and just what I expected. My co-workers were also pleased with their dishes — chicken and broccoli with a special request for the white sauce to be on the side. The broccoli was a perfect texture, cooked but held its own. Another person had the roasted duck appetizer, and that is one of the featured items of O’Mei. It was a lovely fair share of crispy duck, pancakes, scallions and sweet molasses-type sauce. What a wonderfully pleasant meal! There’s nothing like being satisfied and happy with your meal to set the rest of your work afternoon! They truly elevated Chinese food with maintaining the sensory familiarity of smell and taste. Sadly or not so sadly, I think this place might steal some of the customers that would make the trek up north on 41 to another location, when they find out it’s right in the central hub of North Naples. It just might be that go-to place for a nice and rather easy family style dinner. 19 – 2015
