One of my favorite areas to access the beach in the Park Shore area. No toilets, but has a shower, so nice to be able to wash off everything before clambering into the car. Its a decent walk south on the beach, probably a mile, to Doctors Pass where you have a view of boats and the Naples Pier in the far distance. All beaches in Collier County, on the Gulf of Mexico are Public Beaches, no matter what any property owner or official tells you. There is a ton of misinformation about this.

Évaluation du lieu : 5 Naples, FL
Pegado Way is one of more than forty Gulf beaches maintained by the City of Naples and Collier County. It’s conveneintly located on Crayton Road just south of the Village at Venetian Bay in the Park Shore neighborhood of Naples. There is plenty of parking, as well as a shower, but no bathrooms. Not so inspiring is a foot bridge to nowhere. It seems that this is a cosmetic touch that crosses a small spit of sand between the narrow border of mangroves & sea grape, the parking lot, and the open beach. The bridge has a steep incline, making it seem that it is definitely«More Show than Go.» Perhaps the local photographers lobbied for this prop. It is a showey location for a photo shoot at sunset, or for any time of day if one is looking to get out of the glaring sun and still have a view of the water. Five of us moved our usual restaurant luncheon date to Pegado Way. We set up our own table, as there are none here, and did a DIY picnic on a small area of brick, complete with bug spray and folding chairs. In spite of blistering summer temperatures out on the sand, our picnic beneath the mangroves was cooled by incoming Gulf breezes. Two pieces of local color were curious but not off-putting. When we arrived about 11:30AM, there was a Naples version of a homeless guy/displaced person spread out under a tree. There he was on his back in the sand under a tree, with nice black shoes, long pants, and a winter jacket pulled over his head. He soon got up and stumbled off before anyone could knew more. We guessed instead. Could he be an exhausted traveller just arrived from the winter in some southern hemisphere? Did he get locked out or lost? Or, was he a soon-to-be Ex who drank his sorrows well into the next day? Meanwhile, to the south of the beach, condos were under a loud renovation. Crews sand-blasted their way right into our conversation, but quit for lunch right at high Noon. Can’t beat those union rules for a civilized day, for both them and for us. Pegado is one of the prettier spots in Naples’ daisy chain of public beaches. Although busy, it’s not as boisterous as Vanderbilt Beach.
