Tap tap tap who is there?! «It’s not your typical bar experience,» says the website. Curiosity got the best of me as we ventured in on Friday night in anticipation of an atypical experience. I opened the door to be met by LMFAO club music which left me confused on if I should dance or continue to entertain my over zealous waiter. He took several minutes to describe most of the items on the first page of the menu and was way to excited about aioli sauce. You would think this is the first time this guy had conversed with other humans… that or aioli is the worlds greatest gift to man kind. He probably uses aioli to brush his teeth and gel his hair. The food was really great and only wish I had more but I guess thats the idea of a shared plates bar. Food was on point and the beer selection is wider then my waistline after eating several delicious shared plates. Waiter again was super weird and checked in more than an insecure Highschool girlfriend. Should have probably gave us some aioli to go, could have used that to power my car or even grease the squeaky windows in my house. Did I mention the aioli was lemon cause the waiter sure did… only about 5,000 times. In all seriousness the food and beer selection is great, the portions are small so order more than you think. The atmosphere is kinda strange but we had a really good time.

The owner promised us free champagne in his attempt to persuade us to eat at his restaurant from out front. We sat down, the menu was limited but not horrible. I ordered buffalo chicken wings from the«shared plates» portion of the menu, assuming that the plate size would thus be a larger than average quantity. However, I was only given six mediocre chicken wings-for twelve dollars. Waiter was kind, but never gave us the«free champagne» that was promised. Disappointed in my experience at Taps to say the least.

So many beers you’ll be overwhelmed! Lots on tap and tons more in bottles. Be sure to ask for a beer menu as we weren’t given them at first but they do have them. Get the popcorn — it’s mighty tasty and keeps you drinking. FYI we visited on a Saturday night — it was busy at 10 when we got there and empty by midnight. Much more low key crowd than other(packed!) bars at the Mercato. a good place for beer and conversation. Enjoy!

I stopped in for the brie and honey bruschetta and a drink — I think I got the peach Taps Tini. The bruschetta was delicious — it was also warm and a bit soft, which is good in my book. The drink was tasty. The service was good, and I was impressed by the beer list.

Today I decided to try a new(for me) spot in Mercato: Taps. The happy hour for Wednesday’s is half off wine in addition to the draft beers(and they have a few craft and European brews in that number that are outstanding). There are also food deals but I went with their popcorn with truffle oil. Score! Staff was super friendly which made for a great start to my boozy afternoon. Highly recommend this«slightly of the beaten path» spot in Mercato.

We had wonderful Happy Hour drinks and small plates. Our server, Barbie, was very enthusiast, efficient and friendly. We will be back.

Had dinner there & the overall experience in the restaurant wasn’t bad… good beers, OK food(nothing great, but okay), and very nice service. The restaurant was empty while the place next door was full, which should’ve given us a clue. About an hour after leaving there my husband and I both got horribly sick and stayed that way for the entire night. Not fun & we definitely won’t be back!

I came here with my family to sit outside and have a couple drinks(those of us over 21), after a very bad experience around the corner at Cavo. Our servers(I think the girl was in training, she did GREAT!) were awesome. I didn’t know what I wanted to drink, our server made some suggestions, I took him up on one of them and turns out it was SO good! They came outside to make us feel welcome, were chatting us up, making jokes and laughing… ultimately a nice experience for a day out in Mercato, while visiting. I definitely would come back for drinks again and to give the food a try! Keep up the good work and very personable staff!

Visited this establishment on a Sunday afternoon and I’m happy to report that it was a delightful experience. We came in for a couple of drinks and ended up ordered apps and deserts. The beer nachos are awesome the cheese dip is awesome we also ordered the roast beef slicers and the bruschetta & meat balls. The bartender Dawson is is very friendly and knowledgeable in the beer trade. The Belgium waffle desert is too DIE for! I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves.

My first time there and I was not impressed at all: 1– floor was all wet and dirty. 2-at entry you have to pay cash to get in, really? Now days you you have a POSSYSTEM and take those cover charges so people don’t have to haunt down an ATM. 3-takes forever to get a drink. 4-dj as ok better if host will stop talking so much over the mic. And let the music play. 5-I seriously don’t recommend.

Walked into this beautiful and hip establishment on a Sunday afternoon. John at the bar was super helpful when it came to drink recommendations. While it’s clearly a bar, this place knows how to elevate your typical bar palette! Will return!

Nothing special about this place at all. The one thing that might be special is their system for selecting and pouring your own wine… but that was broken… so now what’s the attraction here? I won’t go back

Just stopped in for lunch to try it. No one was in there. The place has a nice décor and lounge seating. All of our food was very good! I had the apricot BBQ chicken and it was very good. My husband had the buffalo chicken sandwich and he said it was just alright. The japaleno poppers were good but expect spice. We didn’t drink any alcohol so I can not comment on that. Also the service was great! I almost forgot to mention that the soup of the day chicken soup was made from scratch and really good.

A little disjointed… is TAPS a brewery or a trendy cocktail lounge? My advice. pick one because neither are working. The restaurant is divided into two separate rooms; one seems cool with loungey sofas and the other side has big screen tvs that were at the highest volume there was no way to have a conversation. The location is small so if you wanted to hang on the sofa and enjoy a martini you would clearly get a play by play of the game being blasted in the next room. The martini tasted like watered down lime juice and had a floating jalapeño for garnish. The tapas weren’t bad, but I would strongly suggest steering clear from the mac and cheese-had a cement like appearance and tasted chalky. The service was ok as he was friendly and attentive, but a little uncomfortable and seemed inexperienced.

Taps was our saving grace to not being served at all in another location at the Mercato. We expained to our bartender our experience and she took the time to be on top of everything in making sure that we redeemed our night of prior poor customer service! If you have not been there before, they offer a really nice spread of beers. You can sample them at the bar and even sample by way of flights. For ones that don’t do beer, which I fit into this category, they have really nice specialty cocktails. I can’t remember the name of my favorite drink there, but it’s a citrus drink with muddled basil in it. So refreshing! As for the food, I would not expect to get a bang for your buck. All items are served«tapas» style which lends itself to having overpriced small plates. The prices are a little deceiving for the amount of food they offer. Needless to say, they do offer some lovely choices and a nice spread of sandwiches and salads. I’ve had their rare roast beef sandwich, gyro sandwich, their grandma’s baked mac and cheese(with a tomato based dressing, chicken skewers) not all in one sitting! I have always been a fan of their truffle oil and parmesan? popcorn. You can’t go wrong with five dollar elevated popcorn. For the venue, I really enjoy the casual atmosphere and the layout for being conducive to large settings. I’ve been in the back area for events that have couches to socialize. The ambiance is cozy, but contemporary with their dark woods, leather seats and lighting. So, if you want to escape the clubby-ness in the surrounding area, go for the drinks, look past the overpriced food, and you’ll have a good time at Taps.
