Two stars for location and ambiance but zero stars for quality. Let me say I’m not a coffee snob but I have enjoyed quality coffee in Colombia, Italy, Sicily, Nashville, and my hometown of Detroit so I will say I know what I’m about to talk about. Here’s the bullet point review: * ordered a flat white and a vanilla latte; both taste the same?! * it took awhile(5mins) which elsewhere is a sign of attention to detail of the grind and pull. Nope. * baristas clearly don’t know coffee or espresso * foam on both drinks was completely wrong. Consistency and appearance of bubbles, no depth, no density. When I saw that a flat white was $ 2.45 I was excited; but if I had ordered and then walked away and came back for my drink I could swear it came from an automatic machine that you would find in a gas station. No joke. This establishment would be a place people flock to if they had a head barista that was schooled in the art and science of coffee. I’m guessing their beans are sourced from a big truck company that services the local restaurants in Mercato. Hate to say it but even Starbucks is better than Second Cup…

It’s always a great place to grab a cup and sit outside and people watch. PEople watching down there is the best!

Upscale shopping area location. Polite, young staff. Drinks ranged from ok to bad. Can’t help but wonder if it’s just a place for the contrarians to go(hey, it’s not Starbucks!!!). Maybe just use them for their wifi. Probably the ugliest espresso I’ve been served in years. And, no crema. Serving an espresso«for here» without crema shows they either don’t know or don’t care. Whatever.

This is one of my favorite non chain coffee places in Naples. You cannot beat the location. It is a perfect place to grab a cup of coffee after dinner in the mercato or even bring the paper and read on a Sunday morning. There is free wifi so if you’re in school or need a place to work, the atmosphere is great.

Great place to take a load off while shopping Mercato. Also a terrific way to enjoy a coffee during a rainstorm!

Nice looking coffee shop, but average coffee. Milk-based drinks leave a lot to be desired. When preparing milk-based drinks, it is imperative to use fresh cold milk in a cold stainless steel pitcher. The«barista» used reheated milk, in an already warm pitcher, in his effort to prepare«microfoam».

This is our first time we coming here and the service was halfway friendly, For many years we dread coming, they’ve gotten away with it because of the location and facility, Still not the wonderful service we get going to Starbucks. Various choices of seating, free internet, glass walls make this a great people watcher place. Grab dessert, a snack, drink. Gluten free pastries available, but rather highly priced. Decent coffee. Good meeting place, much more open than Starbucks. Two separate seating areas. They’ve added more food in their menu too.

Second Cup is AWESOME! I was so happy to find this coffee shop at Mercato. A great place to work during the day with plenty of room and plugs for computers. I like the mix of high and low tops for when you are working alone or working in a small group. The staff is always welcoming and efficient from my experience. I don’t have a favorite must have drink yet but the coffee is good and I will be back to try more of their drinks. There are a CRAZY amount of bad decisions to choose from if you are hungry or need some sugar in the afternoon.

There are a handful of reasons to come to Second Cup. Mine? — Well, we no longer live in the big 341, so it’s a chance to marvel at what has become of the NW quadrant of Vanderbilt &41. The coffee is good(not sure whether they roast it themselves or if it’s sourced) and my dad does have a particular penchant for the ovened strudel. So, there you have it — marveling & strudel. Another reason? — well, as an amateur sociologist, I do enjoy seeing sales in action. By sales, I’m referring to the entire gamut(street cart hawking to the consultancy of titans). Each time I’ve come to Second Cup, I see the sale in full swing — and generally predicated on helping an amasser of wealth choose the right investment path. The couture sported is generally lifted right out of the trade publications — and faces are straight out of the A-class casting calls. i.e., top of the game. Yet, sales is sales — and so it’s enriching to witness the event(s) in action. The give — the take. The pitch. The«relationship-building». The deferential nodes and smiles — the building of confidence. Why go to «the pictures» when you can see the game first-hand? OK — I’m getting off-track. Come to Second Cup to enjoy it for 1. Sociology, 2. Marveling, 3. The strudel.(the coffee is fine).

Truly a revolution in coffee. I can drink this coffee black, it lacks the tar flavor of starbucks and the sourness of dunkin donuts. The staff, for the most part, are competent and pleasant. I only gave four stars because since it has opened, it has had a horrible problem with bugs. The sandwich and pastry display has flies buzzing around it. Quite disgusting.

Love stopping here for coffee/snacks in between meetings or in the morning. It’s a great location and you can almost always find a seat indoors or outside. Lots of light/windows, which is nice and the staff is very friendly. Have tried a few different coffee drinks and smoothies — they’ve all been good. Plus the location is convenient. It’s definitely a place I like to bring my laptop and do some work and I’ll definitely be back.

Absolutely the worse service ever! The young boy by the register is super rude! You will be much better if you just go to Starbucks for coffee…

Came here to Second Cup because we were on the hunt for something sweet. We had just swallowed up some very good soups and we needed some sweets to balance out. We walked to Second Cup since we were already in Mercato. For a Friday night, it was a pretty happening place. I looked at what they had to offer and selected a chocolate pie and a fruit tart. I picked those up and a drink. You would have thought they would have put that right in the bag and get my drink. It was simply a glass of milk to wash down the sweetness of the chocolate. It took a bit for that. I guess I came in at the right time because right after that, the line multiplied three times. All in all, it was pretty good, but I don’t think it totally was amazing. Glad it was nice and convenient. I sure didn’t want to go to the Wal-Mart. This location has quite a bit of inside seating, and outside seating. The day that we went was pretty chilly. We were just concentrating on picking up the desserts, and going home. Next time, I may try their coffee.

Loved this place. Not as busy as Starbucks and the coffee and pastries were great. I had a Nutella AND regular cronut! Tastes even better warm which they will do upon request :) Now that I know they carry these that’s reason alone to go back. I also had a latte frap I guess u could call it. It was delicious.

Surprisingly delicious hot apple cider!!! I should of got a second cup! ah.ah.ah… I’m honestly not really a coffee drinker, so I can’t really judge the coffee. But my friends ordered different coffee concoctions and enjoyed everything. Excellent fruit tarts! You can also try a CRONUT there, which was interesting! Free Wifi, cozy seating area, and a good central location in Mercato. As other’s have said, it’s Canada’s version of Starbucks. For some reason, this is the only Second Cup in the entire United States!

Great location. Competes with Grace’s Cupcakes, the French macaroon store, Silverspot Terrace, and Whole Foods’ bar for your decision about where to sit and have a cup of coffee while the world walks by. There are less than a half dozen coffees offered. Pastries are appealing yet pricey. Ambient music was so low I could only make out the echo of bass. Décor seems soulless. Or maybe it’s the lack of customers under the faux warehouse drop ceiling that doesn’t resonate with me. If there are crowds later, the service bar is confusingly central. People entering from the east and west doors will converge without a logical place for a line. Customer service needs to be tweaked for the better. Outside, a handwritten chalkboard lures with an offer of frozen yogurt sandwiches. Turns out the offer expired a week ago Erase! How hard is that? Not only are there no sandwiches in the house, the only way to buy yogurt is in the parfaits. I had to ask for a mug since the albeit sweet clerk never asked, yet started a brew in a paper cup. Disappointing. Get some people, live music, and hot(not kinds hot) Joe in this too sterile place, and Cranky Me will be happy to return.
