Best and most consistent Chinese in south county. We’ve never had a bad meal here, always fresh and well prepared. We get the General Tso’s with white meat(which I highly recommend) and its awesome. The hot and sour soup which was not very good for years is now as good as most. Lo mein is good and again always on point, if your in south county and want good American Chinese this is your spot.

…New Dragon is still my favorite Chinese food restaurant! Food is always hot and fresh. Non of that dried up rice/chicken here. Service is on point and helpful. I have never had a bad experience

This place was«meh» at best. Order the tuna amazing and kamikaze roll, my girlfriend got the spare ribs combo. My sushi was pretty flavorless and was oddly warm. Didn’t make me sick but it was gross none the less. Spare ribs were okay, fried rice was average, but they forgot the egg roll that was suppose to come with her combo meal and offered her a free one next time she came in. The shitty part is she already paid for an egg roll so the one they offered wasn’t «free” — shitty business practice. Also the guy who gave me my food at the front counter was stuffing his face and spoke to me with his mouth full of shit which was unprofessional and gross. Won’t come back.

Been coming to New Dragon since I was 5 years old, and Evey meal has been consistent since the first time coming in! The sesame chicken is my go to meal with fried rice. The soup is always good too. Service is on point and the waiters are always friendly.

Fabulous food! We stopped in coming off the last ferry off Block Island & expected to find run of the mill Chinese food. We were blown away from the 1st Egg Rolls(huge pieces of fresh pork, fresh herbs, and cracked pepper) to the Chicken and Broccoli(usually my least favorite). Everything tastes fresh and wholesome, not processed like so many other American Chinese places. And the duck sauce was home-made, too. I think we need to go back just for the Egg Rolls. Will definitely make this our must-have every trip along RI shores.

I grew up eating Chinese food. When it comes to authenticity of the dishes here, its top notch. They also serve americanized chinese food like general tso’s chicken which is also amazing. What I really like is the proportion of the food, the swiftness and kindness of the employees, the rice being soft and freshly cooked daily, workers fully understand English, cozy romantic aura and private booths, a party area, and they are willing to make dishes that arent on the menu. For example, I really like fermented fish with eggplant and not many places make something like this. But when I asked the waitress she actually want to the kitchen to ask the cook and she came back with the dish. It was made really well. These cooks are all Chinese people who know their food and culture. Its not a kitchen manned by people who arent chinese. Its rare to find. I would definitely come back here for more future orders. I recommend going on ordering take out on Mon-thurs because friday-sun is too busy, takes a while. Also they have a bar if you want to sit and sip some drinks. Very friendly bartender. Also a sushi bar. I love their salmon, always fresh and fatty. The rice for the sushi is seasoned very well and also sticky which are important elements in sushi.

These people don’t even deserve one star. They are rude the entire time it completely ruins the ambience of your meal. They charge extra for substitutions of equal value. These people are thieves. Don’t even bother asking for the crispy noodles and duck sauce if you are taking out they’ll try to charge you for that as well. Horrible place don’t go here Peking Tokyo is better than this place.

New Dragon is my go-to favorite of the South County Americanized Chinese food joints. My staple meal is the beef teriyaki combo — which is consistently delicious and what I’ve gotten here since long before it was called New Dragon. Sure teriyaki is actually a Japanese dish, and I can’t stand the new trend with all our local Chinese restaurants adding sushi, nim chow, pad thai etc to a Chinese menu — but teriyaki has been that crossover dish since I was knee high to a grasshopper. I also really enjoy the yang chow fried rice and the sauteed green beans and would suggest them highly to anyone who thinks they sound like something they would like. If you’re looking for a solid choice for standard Americanized Chinese(now all-Asian) cuisine, then New Dragon is a must try while you’re in the greater Narragansett/South Kingstown area.

A solid, American-style Chinese restaurant conveniently located near the Narragansett beaches and URI that features those traditional favorites we all love. Everything we ordered — from the hot, crunchy egg rolls and Moo Goo Gai Pan to Buddha’s Delight — arrived hot and was filled with an abundance of fresh vegetables. The restaurant’s atmosphere is a bit sparse, but it appears clean and had it not been for the peculiar manager who sat in the booth across from us and watched us eat, I might even honor the experience with a fifth star.(Maybe she thought I was going to skip out on the bill.) Good food and affordable. Hao-hao chi!

Chinese is a favorite of mine. I’ve tried it all across the state, even the usual favorites such as Asia Grille(a former favorite that I grew up on), the Islander, Chans; you name it, I’ve been there. New Dragon has been our go-to Chinese food place for about 5 years. The rice is excellent, the rangoons are light and flavorful, the drinks are perfect and Kevin and Han take excellent care of us always! We’ve never had a meal that has been anything but fabulous. I’m not a sushi person, but their sushi room is beautiful(thanks to a personal tour from Han, the owner) and my husband enjoys it.

I have ordered here several times and LOVE the sweet and sour chicken. Their dipping sauce is excellent. The crab rangoons and wonton soup are good as well. The egg rolls are… Different. Not really a fan. And the boneless spareribs are not anything to write home about. Overall, I would stick to certain items on the menu and avoid others.

Do not eat here! I’ve been here several times and have finally made a decion to not go back. We ordered rice that on two different occasions smelled like horse manuer? We complained and nothing was done about it. I don’t know what is going on in that kitchen, but I’m a little afraid to find out!

Honestly, the food here can be pretty good. Well then, why the one star review… We frequently order from New Dragon and we live twenty minutes away. Despite a total of forty minutes that we were willing to drive, we won’t be doing it anymore. Unfortunately, I’ve had far too many instances with incorrect orders recently. Every single time we’ve ordered in the past six months they have not only forgotten at least one item but they have consistently short changed us, this time it was for over five dollars. We send someone to pick it up and it usually this isn’t noticed until we are at home twenty minutes away. We do call and they say they will give us the money or food item that was forgotten. Who is going to remember that because we never seem to. It’s a complete pain and I can’t stand paying for something that I didn’t get. This time not only were we short changed. We asked for well done chicken wings they were literally pink in the middle and inedible. We ordered egg rolls and they weren’t included. My father who picked up the food brought a list with him with that had every item ordered because they forget something every time. The worker went thorough the list with him and checked each item off stating it was packed in the box. The egg rolls weren’t in there. How is it that even with double checking a list you can’t get it right, sigh. I’m so sick of being short changed, not having an item I paid for, or both. You may be alright if you dine in, you can send undercooked items back or tell the waitstaff if they short changed you. It’s happened to me before here, the waitress tried to short me $ 20 which she did give back. I’m done with New Dragon and if I could give no stars I would.

Okay, I am not a Chinese food expert… but I’ve had some horrible experiences before, and some great experiences. New Dragon has been consistant for YEARS. So, that is why I keep coming back. For a while, the interior was a little rundown, and had some interesting décor. Since they’ve redone the restaurant, it looks pretty good(for what you’d expect). Of course your meal is always ready in ten minutes, but they always seem to have consistency. My favorite combination special on the whole menu is the crispy chicken. It’s a great choice, especially if you dig spicy food. Good drink selection here also.

New Dragon is my go-to Chinese restaurant in my familiar Rhode Island area. Each time I’ve been here it’s been a wonderful experience full of filling Chinese food and good company. Recently, they have added Japanese cuisine to their menu, which means sushi AND classic Chinese foodstuffs! Why would you want to go anywhere else? I started with a Philadelphia roll because I was very excited that they had sushi on their menu. The Philadelphia roll was amazing and had smoked salmon, cream cheese, and scallions wrapped in sticky white rice. It was great for $ 5. I’ve had several of their meals, combination specials, and lunch specials, all ranging from different prices and sizes depending on what time of the day you go. As most Chinese places, I’d recommend going around lunch time for the cheapest, largest meal. I’ve had their orange chicken, sweet and sour chicken, and General Tso’s chicken, all wonderful and filling. The portions are gigantic and you’ll be lucky if you can finish it all comfortably. Most meals come with your choice of fried or white rice, and your choice of an egg or spring roll. Soup also comes with the majority of the meals. I usually order the egg drop soup or the wonton soup – both are great. The boneless spareribs are also spectacular. They also serve a plethora of alcohol, which is wild for a Chinese restaurant. They have all kinds of spirits, beer, and exotic Polynesian drinks. A few friends of mine were daring enough to order the $ 30 «orgy bowl» that included as much liquor as a liquor store in it. The service and atmosphere are both great.

Wow, this is really good Chinese food. I mean really, I’m a sucker for Jackie’s Galaxy but if I lived closer to Narragansett I’d be happy ordering from here anytime. So the items I ate(aka devoured) included: Lo Mein, Chicken Fingers, Boneless Spareribs, Beef Teriyaki, Crab Rangoons and Hot & Sour soup. Not only do I have 0 complaints about any of them, but they were all delicious. And let me add some yummy emphasis to the duck sauce, because it was faaaaaantastic. Dipping those little crabby rangoonies in it was like pure heaven. The place isn’t anything to look at, but the take-out is just fine. And they give you TONS of food as well. I think we must have gotten 20 crab rangoons. There were leftovers, and if you know crab rangoons, you know there’s no such thing as leftovers! My only complaint is that my fortune cookie told me I was a bad cook and should order take-out more often. Ha!
