Hobby Etc

Decent hobby dealer. Very large online store/​warehouse, but almost no store front at all. Just one case of «not for sale» relics, some paint and a limited aluminum panels case.
The owner was nice enough, the prices are fair.
One thing: I tried to make conversation with one of the guys there. He obviously knew a lot about rc and I had just driven 3 hours to get there. So a bit of rc talk would have been nice. He really wasn’t interested. He answered my questions in a kurt and accurate manner, but when asked his opinion on certain vehicles, he obviously didn’t want to start a conversation.
This is minor and not a big deal, just an observation.
I got the impression from everyone there that they are an online business, not a local hobby shop and they would prefer I leave so they can continue their online dealings. The «store front» only exists for picking up orders.
I didn’t spend as much money as I wanted to because every item I needed had to be looked up and picked from the warehouse. I felt I was being a bother.
All very minor stuff. But with that kind of drive there, and a list of things to buy, it could be better.
All said and done, I got my kit and some supplies and would definitely do business with them again. But next time I’ll order the stuff on their website.

Hobby Etc sold me two suspension arms for my r/​c car and they did not fit correctly. They accepted the lower set but would not take back the upper set because they said I damaged them. His definition of damage was a chip of paint that was missing in the same spot of both arms. This is obviously how they came from the manufacturer as both arms were not finished in this one area. They could not have been damaged by me in that area as they were enclosed in the r/​c car. Their refusal to accept my purchase is unwarranted and I now have a $ 20 part that I have no use for. This item was purchased exactly one week before attempted return.

I’ve got to admit it, this company has it’s act together. I don’t think they could have gotten my order to me any faster had they been across town. Prices — great, customer support — super, shipping — very timely. It’s my pleasure doing business with companies that appreciate the business.
