The Artist Colony was a great luncheon experience. We had the spinach and artichoke dip to begin. It was delicious and they threw in a side dish of queso for my husband. My quiche was tasty but a bit soggy. The French onion soup was to die for! I could live off of it. My husband’s tenderloin was hand breaded in house which was very flavorful. He enjoyed it. Overall, our experience was great. Our waitress was lovely and very attentive. The toddler at the table next to us was a precious floor show.

Oh my how I wish I could open a restaurant in Nashville. I would open a place with local fresh ingredients that made food taste great. Alas… I am not doing this. So, when I go to Nashville and am hungry I select which restaurant I want to wait 75 minutes to sit. This visit, we selected this restaurant. I wish I would have selected speedway gas station on the corner. The food here was better than speedway(maybe), but I think I would have had better service at Speedway! The waitress was hardly ever to be seen. And when she was, she only wanted to do the task she had planned. I am sorry I would like more water, but I am rather thirsty. The food — when it finally came out — was bland or bad. I decided to eat the bland and leave the bad for the trash.

During our stay, my boyfriend and I throughly enjoyed the hospitality this Inn provided. All employees were friendly and helpful– severs were equally wonderful. When we arrived in our room, I noticed our curtains were hanging off of the rod. I called the front desk to ask if they could bring up a screwdriver and we could take care of it. They responded and said they would be right there. The lady who checked us in fixed our curtains with a smile. It was refreshing to see such great hospitality! The food at the restaurant downstairs was overall great. Many varieties to choose from and a decently priced menu.

The food was really pretty decent. But the service was lacking. Our waitress never introduced herself. My wife ordered a hot chocolate and water, never got the water(till I asked again). She never asked if we were ready and practically demanded that we order when she was ready for us. The food also took about 45 minutes. The table next to us ordered at the same time as us, they got their food, ate it and left before we got ours. My guess is our waitress forgot to put it in. The food was good, I got the meatloaf sandwich and my wife got the tenderloin. They were good. But food is only part of the restaurant experience. Oh, also they don’t serve beer or wine which is a disappointment given the local breweries and vineyards.

The only thing positive about this place is the wait staff and the sun fries. Rudest hostess I’ve ever encountered. Catfish has great flavor, but the fish is over cooked and mushy. The hostess is rude and for some reason thinks it’s appropriate to argue with staff in front of guests. Many tables were available but we still waited 20 minutes due to childish bickering among the staff. Our waiter was great. The other wait staff was quick and clearly working hard. The host stand was an unprofessional, unpleasant joke. This place was a tradition of our family for years. We won’t be back.

Absolutely NOT! Service = not friendly; they snubbed their nose at me when I came in with a stroller. Food = bland; might as well been eating straw. Price = don’t pay for anything that’s not free. Honestly, waste of your time. In fact, most places in Nashville probably are.

We had dinner here this evening Friday October 9th and we had a good dining experience. We got there around 5pm so we beat the dinner rush and were the first ones seated on the patio. I believe our server was Cindy and she did a good job taking care of us. We started out with the potato skins with some homemade ranch dressing both were really good, in fact it was so good I think the appetizer was better than my entrée. I got the Country Fried Steak which came with mashed potatoes and corn. It was decent but nothing special to me. The other person got the meatloaf with the same sides and enjoyed very much. We opted to add house salads and they had crazy things in their salad like celery so I was not a fan. They have iced tea but no sweet tea. That was a bummer so I got the unsweet. Enjoyed the live Violin players right out front. Watched people as they walked past and we were right beside where the horse and buggy rides parked so we decided after dinner to go take a ride ourselves. Definitely a great evening. Lots of shops around and things you can get into.

Not exactly stroller friendly. They made us check it at the door in an unsecured area.

Staying here for the 6th time in one of their smaller and less expensive rooms, and it’s still great. Spotless with a pretty historic charm without the old fashioned amenities. Right on the Nashville strip. Very pretty grounds and convenient free parking. I’ve read some pretty ridiculous reviews about the restaurant. People act like they’re expecting a 5 star restaurant experience. This is southern Indiana. The servers here are kind, funny, and laid back. It’s a little touristy spot, so expect a different crowd mixture. I’ve never had bad service here. It’s the perfect comfort Midwestern menu and has always been delicious. I love staying in the rooms and ordering food up to the room. If you want a 5 star experience and meal, get out of Nashville and back to whatever uppity place you think you belong in(which you most likely don’t).

My wife and I always include a stop at Artists Colony whenever we visit Nashville. My favorite has always been the breaded pork tenderloin, and it is consistently a great sandwich. We have always had good service during our visits, and the atmosphere isn’t touristy.

Food was well prepared and delicious. Servers were pleasent and checked often with us. Price was a bit high but with the quality of the food and the atmosphere it was normal. Good place to go for a nice dinner, You may have a wait if you go there on a busy weekend especially during the fall. Nashville is a tourist town and is really crowded then.

Great place. Stayed the night in this hotel and got a breakfast buffet with the room. Dinner was cat fish the first night and turkey Manhattan the second night. Finished up with the blueberry cobbler. Good and service were excellent. If in the Nashville area, stop in for a bite. Try the broccoli salad too! After all that good take a walk thru some of the shops

What a lovely little place! It has an old rustic feel that fits right in with the area downtown. The building is very nice and the staff extremely helpful and attentive. We went on a marriage retreat with our church, and go every year. It’s great. A little about the rooms. They are quaint. Nice, spacious, and very cool. When I walked in, the first thing I felt was that I was staying at a friends house and I was in the guest room. They have a very homy feel to them. Our room had a four-poster bed, very 1800’s feeling furniture that was made locally, wide hardwood floors with hand-made nails. Just a very nice room. The bathroom was very large and well-placed. The sink is in with the rest of the facilities, unlike other hotels where the sink is outside. The shower is great. The good: Great room Nice windows with curtains Homy feel Good breakfast buffet Great downtown location Free guest parking Wifi Ice machine The bad: The beds are not comfortable at all Furniture, being hand made, is very noisy Can’t have the bathroom fan on without the light Doors do NOT lock when closed. Remember to lock them with your key! All in all, a great night stay.

We dined there last night after a wine tasting, spa, and shopping, and everything including the service as we walked in, the server Ben, the promptness of our food coming out, and the top notch taste and quality of home cooked goodness they offer there was just fantastic! Ben was energetic and very accommodating when explaining what all they offer, what dishes are most popular, even bringing me selections of hot tea to choose from and substituting a side for the homemade soup of the day that he said was exceptionally good that day. My wife had the best tenderloin and onion rings we ever had(yes, I tasted it), and I had the popular corn breaded fresh catfish and it was amazing! The homemade soup I had was the creamy vegetable soup… Best ever! The salads, the entrées, soups and coffee all had quality taste and left us very satisfied at our choice to dine there. Great job, guys!

Great little stop for lunch. I would recommend lunch here over dinner, as there are other good eats in town that would provide a better ambiance for a longer dinner, but this place serves good food, and good portion sizes with moderate prices. The service is hit or miss, but overall, you will enjoy your meal and not leave hungry.

The Inn actually does accept guests, and its right in the heart of Little Nashville. The setting is much like a home. The dining area is a bit small, but luckily we had only a 20 minute wait around the lunch hour. The wait service was friendly and mostly attentive. Although she seemed to be fumbling around, it was all so endearing that we didn’t mind. I got the catfish sandwich and that filet was HUGE. My family opted for soup and salad which they thoroughly enjoyed. Wnenever you are in Brown County, take the time to stop here.

Went to brown county for the shops and stopped here for dinner. None of my table’s food was hot, it was like it was all nuked in the microwave. Their sweet potato fries are frozen and bought pre made yet they have baked sweet potatoes? They seriously can’t figure out how to cut them into strips and bake them? Same for the mashed potatoes, they were instant even though they had baked white potato. The vegetable of the day(carrots) were terribly steamed and the house salad was boring with lettuce, cabbage, and cheese which I didn’t get. They couldn’t even add some tomatoes or onions? It was a nice menu with lots of options it’s just that the quality wasn’t that great. The waiter was nice and didn’t mess anything up even with our special requests, the food was just not that great.

Artist colony manages to impress once again. We were out and about in downtown Nashville with a group of 14 and decided to eat here. I was rather nervous about their ability to seat such a large group with no notice. They did so in less than 5 minutes. I personally had the chili and meatloaf Manhattan. And they were both delicious. I always say I’m going to try something new. And I always get the meatloaf manhattan. It’s that good. Everyone else in our party was happy with their meal and we all left stuffed. This is our favorite restaurant in Nashville.
