This place is great! The french dip was amazing! The karaōke was also fun, just an overall great time. The river walk across the street was beautiful.

We just stopped by, not expecting too much for lunch. But this place came up with delicious food and fabulous beers. The service was great even though it was very down to earth. Natchez usually is not the main spot to travel for, but this bar makes it worth a stay.

I was going to give these guys a low review because they ran out of two local beers that they have on tap. But then I tried the Lazy Magnolia Southern Pecan and realized that those blonde beers that they ran out of suck! Who drinks that stuff anyway? OK, so other than that this place is great. It was once a cotton warehouse and then a few other things but now it’s a great place to enjoy the evening drinking Lazy Magnolias and reflecting on the splendor of the great Mississippi river. Which you can’t see from here but why nitpick. We know it’s just 100 yards off. Inside is a mahogany bar from 1880. It originated in Colorado and folklore says it was signed by Kit Carson. Why someone would think Kit’s signature would hold future value escapes me. I can’t be sure if he could actually sign his name. Perhaps he used the«X» so popular among his contemporaries. At any rate it’s all academic since no one thought to photograph the alleged signature during the move from Holly, CO. I actually touched the bar. I put my elbows on it. It looks mahogany and is smooth and long. I ordered a salad. So far, I have not had luck in the South with salads. So I am writing this review now just in case. ..

The food here is amazing! The service, not so much. If you stop in, you have to try the seafood nachos!!!

We come here at least once a week because I have a small addiction to the seafood nachos and my husband loves everything on the menu. The only downfall is the waitstaff which is either nonexistent or poor to say the least. Somehow we have managed to get the same waitress the last 3 times we’ve been here and I’ve come to the conclusion that she just hates everything In life. I’ve tried to «kill her with kindness» to no end and. Nothing. We always leave a generous tip because I’ve waited tables for over 12 years and understand that everyone has a bad day BUT I’m not interested in paying for a snotty attitude and an empty pint that lasts throughout the entire dinner, call me crazy but I would like my waitstaff to check in on our table at least once before abruptly tossing the bill down. Long story not so short, if you want an amazing dish and don’t care at all about dehydration or service definitely stop in here.

Had to pay a $ 5 cover charge per person to get in because it was 8:00 on Saturday night. We just wanted to eat a bite. We left just as the band began to play at 9:00 after a small pizza that was the wrong order. A $ 50 evening sans tip for nothing.

We aren’t from here Natchez, but every time we visit, we eat here. Staff is friendly, food is always good. We had pizza… delicious(I’ve can’t remember ever having bad pizza anywhere). I highly recommend this place. Locals are always here. Great place for fun evening.

I ordered the Marc west Pinot noir and it tasted like vinegar. Obviously the bottle had been open too long. Also loud and obnoxious group of crudely cussing men at a table next to us and next to a table of black people using the term«negro». Disgusting drunks everywhere.

The awesome building has to be the coolest part of Bowies. The«Mikes» nacho were once the biggest baddest plate of nachos around. They have gone to a lil small overpriced sissy plate over the past few years. The service wasn’t the best either. Look up the history on the old building and imagine it 150 years ago. And the huge mahogany bar is the bomb.

We came to have drinks before dinner and ended up coming back for more after dinner. This bar is in a convenient historic building just across the street from the Mississippi River in downtown Natchez. We did not eat there, so I have no opinion about the food.

This was a great place to grab a quick bite, watch the game and have a drink. Menu is bar food so don’t expect fresh lump crab. They have tons of TV’s. It felt pretty clean despite being a bar, that was a major plus! It’s also right on the river, so you can step outside and catch a sunset. Wait staff was very attentive and made an extra effort to put us in front of the ball game we wanted to watch. Another major plus was being in walking distance of our hotel. Great experience, we will return one day.

A great place. Wonderful atmosphere & service. Excellent cocktails. And delicious food. My favorites are the chicken terriocky– BBQ pizza, onion dip soufflé, and the tortilla chips covered in chili-queso and with sliced jalapeño on the side. There something going on there almost every night… I like that too. Karlyn

After traveling to two different places on a Sunday night — one was closed, the other disappointing, we stumbled across Bowie’s. We weren’t expecting much but it was open and had food. We were pleasantly surprised! It was a fun atmosphere in a historic building — it was an old cotton warehouse. The food was also quite good. They had just introduced a brand new menu today. Johnny had the jerk chicken wings. He said they were extremely flavorful and tender. And, if you like blue cheese, they gave you plenty. I had the chicken, spinach, artichoke pizza made on 6″ focaccia bread. Although there was no band playing, they had good music playing over the speakers. Overall, this was a great experience!

My dining experience was VERYDISAPPOINTING. We first ordered a house salad that was missing menu described ingredients. The salad consisted of lettuce and pre shredded cheese only(the menu stated this salad would include onion, tomato, and cucumber). For our meal, we ordered a hamburger. When it arrived, it was clear that this patty was frozen and pre cooked — grill marks included. The«fixings» and bun was sub par. Burgers are accompanied by Lay’s potato chips which, sadly, was the best part of the dish. Overall, this place was very Disappointing. Having been recommended by the Dunleith Inn — which owns Bowie’s — one would assume that the level of product would match that of the restaurants at Dunleith. I am shocked that the Dunleith owns and highly recomends Bowie’s Tavern. We will not be returning.

Just got back from staying the weekend here for a wedding. Bowie’s Tavern and Inn is owned by Dunleith Plantation(a 3 minute drive away). BAR: Strong drinks and wonderful appetizers. The loaded nachos and spinach dip were yummy, and the chips that went with them were great too. The only thing I didn’t like was the bruschetta came out looking like pizza bites and wasn’t too good. The bar crowd was interesting– definitely a casual, all types of people and ages atmosphere. A live band played both nights I was there, and they were ok. I was with a group of close friends so we had fun, especially since we were visiting and staying in the rooms above the bar. There are several big screen TVs with great views from any seat, so it was fun watching football when possible! ROOMS: Each room has a king size bed, huge jacuzzi tub with separate shower, and tons of space! 3 of the 4 rooms overlook the Mississippi River, and those 3 balconies are connected to make one long, big balcony with tables and chairs. Very nice to sit out and enjoy the view, have a drink, relax. You have to make reservations through Dunleith as well as check in and out there. Breakfast is at Dunleith too in the Carriage House, and I highly recommend it. Gorgeous place and delicious food. Mine was complimentary because of the wedding I attended, but breakfast is normally just $ 9(all you can eat buffet) and well worth it! Who knows, maybe you can negotiate it. My room was absolutely perfect visually. I LOVED it, especially the massive jacuzzi tub with strong jets. BUTBEWARE– Do not stay here if you plan to go to bed early. When the bar is hopping, the room is LOUD because it’s right above the bar with just a wood floor in between. I couldn’t go to sleep until after 2am all weekend because once the bar shut down, then all I could hear were the employees moving tables and chairs around cleaning up the place. I would not stay here unless you plan to go out because this is not a restful place to stay. Like I said, I was assigned to stay here for a wedding, so I was up late all weekend anyways with friends, but I would probably opt for the huge Grand Hotel next door or the Best Western by the bridge. I’m a light sleeper and could hear every single thing going on in the bar below my room. However, there is 1 room that is not directly over the bar and quite peaceful(my friend stayed in that room) so I would ask for it if I had to stay there again!

Decent place. Bands are hit and miss. Great TVs for watching the big game. Ok bar food. Attentive staff, and bartenders willing to make whatever drinks you can think of.
