Very simple place– plastic chairs and tables outside, inside seating is small and loud. The food is good, nothing fancy. Prices aren’t exorbant.($ 6– $ 20) The problem is EVERY time we come to eat, we are seated and then we wait… for no less than 10 to 15 minutes for a waitress. This is to even order a drink! It is so frustrating. When you get a waitress, they are very nice. But waiting when you have a family and everyone is «hangry», that is what causes the 3 star rating.

Great neighborhood homey feeling restaurant! I discovered the snack size«coconut shrimp» and delish w/sides! First time best and long list of great southern sides/greens& cheese grits! Slammed at nites! 2nd time not as good(reflected in 4 stars), but will go again and eat there, not take-out! Huge outdoor eating area!!!

This little spot is a simple seafood restaurant. Fried shrimp & fish with outdoor & indoor seating. For our appetizer we had fried crab claws, something we try if it’s on the menu. Very tasty. And tgeir cocktail and tartar sauses were very good for dipping. My wife had grilled shrimp and I had grilled grouper. Her shrimp were cooked just right but my grouper, while still well seasoned and tasty was five minutes too done. Still ate ur all though. :-) The service was great and the funnel fries for dessert were deelish… Worth a try…

Well I had a large shrimp basket came out cold. Waitress was really rude. Got one refill the whole dinner. Crowded atmosphere plus the rude waitress and the cold food will not be back. Tried a popcorn shrimp with one of the guests I had was very hot and very good, if I go back it will be popcorn shrimp basket not the large shrimp.

It’s small and the demand often out paces the number of seats. But the staff is friendly and the food it good.

My brother n law recommended this place so wife &I stopped in on Monday night. Her shrimp poorboy was good. My dozen raw oysters were great except that one was size of a quarter. Then I also ordered the Coconut Shrimp Basket for $ 13.99. This was not good at all. Bland and no sweet sauce. One shrimp was horrible as if it were dropped behind the fryer on floor and recovered bad. I spit it out! Gross x10. If I come back I’ll stick with the oysters.

Very good grilled shrimp & fish but just a tad salty. The fried okra & fritters were awesome!

Don’t bother. Unless you have an unlimited amount of time to wait for a table. Stopped in for Dinner. Waited an extremely long time for table, even though it seemed the rush had already ended. They offered an all you can eat fish basket, which seemed like a great deal. The place was ½ empty, and it took the better part of an hour to order and get served. I had the shrimp salad, seemed like a good pick. :(The shrimp were almost big enough to use as bait. Two people with us ordered the fish basket(all you can eat). Took way too long to get the original order, and they NEVER received their re-order.

Staff was very nice! Had a great time. It was a fun atmosphere. The food was great especially the tacos and the shrimp. I had the mahi mahi tacos. The«shrimp slaw» was great and the service was fast. A great place to go when you’re staying down here in Navarre!

Abandon all Hope, Ye who enter here. I went in with an open mind when my FIL wanted to eat here while he was in town. The bad reviews you read about the service and food are all too true. Some low-lights: the lad who greeted us and said he would seat us abandoned us on the way to our table, we then waited 15 minutes before a server first came to our table(ignored by passing staff during that time), our drink order took a long time to arrive, our food order took yet longer, AND the food was lukewarm when it did arrive. Well-flavored though, and the server and manager were genuinely apologetic about the experience we had.

Stopped for a late lunch; hubby loves seafood and I do not, so he got the blackened shrimp platter and I got a blackened chicken poboy and fries. The shrimp weren’t terribly thrilling, but he said shrimp cole slaw, hush puppies and green beans were very tasty. My sandwich was very good as were the plentiful fries.

Kind of a tourist trap in my opinion. We saw a plane flying a banner that they had«all you can eat shrimp» along the beach and our boys just had to go! There were so many people the night we went that we had to wait outside in the heat for a long time before being seated, and the servers, hostess generally seemed very overwhelmed by the crowd of hungry people in such a small restaurant. It took a long time to be seated, and an even longer time to be served our food after ordering. The server missed essential things like Ketchup, and the food took so long, that it was painful to order anything additional after going for the«all you can eat» part. Food was«ok.» Shrimp were slightly overcooked in my opinion(passable, but not great), and overall, the food was pretty salty. I didn’t care for the slaw either. I think our money would have been better spent somewhere else — pretty expensive for what you actually got. There are nicer places to go in Navarre at this price point.

We had the coconut beans and rice and hush puppies. All were delicious. Service was fast and friendly. Customer seemed like locals as opposed to tourists. We loved it

Great dinner tonight at the Shrimp Basket. Our first visit, but based on the variety on the menu we will be back. I tried the blackened shrimp and grits. It hit the spot! Simple and tasty. And only $ 10.99 for a big portion! My wife had the shrimp tacos with a side of red beans and rice. Tasty. She enjoyed them and spiced them up with the tables hot sauce. My only knock is that there are no beers on tap. Otherwise this place is solid!

Great food, laid back atmosphere and crowd. Great Raw oysters and Po boy sandwiches. Bread is great, grilled shrimp has a bit too much seasoning.

I was skeptical since the Shrimp Basket in Gulf Shores, Alabama is one of my all time favorites… so the bar was extremely high… however…it was certainly good at this location… it just falls way short on matching the ambience of sitting outside with the Gulf breeze blowing everything off the table. Good coconut shrimp and new potatoes… cold ice tea… full belly.

This is the second shrimp basket the family and I decided to try out. The inside space is a lot smaller than the other locations. The wait staff want too friendly and didn’t check on us at all after taking our order, and it was about a 40 minutes before our food came out. I’m a creature of food habit, so I usually get the same meal every time. I had the fried crab claws with fries. The portion was small for the price and what I’m used to from other locations. They made it seem like you were getting a lot of crab claws by putting them over the fries, what a cruel trick at $ 17.99. Next up is the fried catfish, it wasn’t cooked firm enough to our liking, it was a little mushy. Didn’t have the nice catfish crunch at a all. They also missed the mark with the fried okra. This location really had us confused and disappointed in the shrimp basket restaurants. Lastly this location did not honor the military discount like the other locations. At the end the manager came over to take our baskets and saw that we didn’t eat the shrimp slaw, and told us we can asked for a substitute since we didn’t eat it.

What a disappointment it was. The chicken strips for the kids were so over cooked that they were hard. My shrimp po-boy had the smallest shrimp known to man on it and on top of it I ordered the deluxe and it looked like a regular sandwich. Everything we purchased was not good and was barely worth the time to eat. On top of that the service was lackluster. My mother talked to the manager and she said they were going through some growing pains due to last manager leaving recently. She didn’t really apologize; she just basically said it like we should just deal with it. Not something you do when dealing with the public. I do think for the 45 minutes we waited for our food we got the short end of the stick. This change has really upset my parents since this is where they send family to when they are in town. Well they just need to recommend Rocco’s from now it seems if they want a great meal in a timely manner.
