East Bay Crab House

We are visiting from Houston and decided to try this place because the Unilocal reviews looked pretty good. I’m so happy we did! From the first second until we left, it was a fantastic experience. The GM greeted us like we were family. He stopped by our table several times during our stay to make sure we had everything we needed or wanted. He was very sweet and a fantastic host. I actually asked him if he was the owner, because he was so involved with every customer. You can tell that he loves his job, the customers, the employees, and the restaurant. The food was very good too! We had fried calamari, the fishermans platter, and the Alaskan king crab. It was all excellent! The waitress was very nice and helpful! We will return to this restaurant ever time we visit Navarre!

Our first visit. We ordered the 10 piece fried Shrimp, grilled potatoes, and cold-​slaw, wine, and Key-​lime pie. I’ve been in the restaurant business for many years and this place is really good. Owners are very friendly our server Stephanie E. was excellent on top her game.
Restaurant is decorated nicely and very clean. Prices were excellent. Don’t miss this gem of a restaurant experience.

Absolutely love the chicken wings! They’re baked and grilled, Delish! Service can run slow at times because they tend to be understaffed. I’m not marking them down for that because every server we’ve had has been super friendly and has always made us feel welcomed.
Beer selection could use some craft selections. Or even some local brews on tap. Would really bring in a larger crowd if they did.
The outside deck has awesome waterfront views too. Overall, we love this place and we’ll definitely be regulars!

The food and staff were great! We were greeted promptly and seated almost immediately. Our waitress was hilarious and willing to answer all of our questions. We definitely had a great time and great food. We ordered calamari that came with a delicious dipping sauce, fish and chips, and shrimp. The only reason for the 4 stars is the prices were a bit high. Overall it is definitely worth a trip!

Ehhhhhh its okay the owner is nice but the food is so-​so at best. Don’t think I will come back not for me I guess.

Service was good but I think we lucked out on the wait staff. Food. Seams over priced.
My Cajun grouper wasn’t what I expected and was covered in cream sauce that took away of having fish. Sautéed gators were also disappointing in that very little meat and was on top of bed of rice covered in butter.
Again, I’m all about value, food, and service and this place seem all about maximizing profit. Because quality of meat I could see is no better than captain D’s. Atmosphere seem old and dirty and packed with bunch of people whom I don’t think knew what they are getting. In this case, me included
I will mark this place as place never to try again.

Friday night at 9. It was a 45 minute wait. they ran out of calamari, slow service, alligator appetizer came in a bed of rice and moist strange for fried alligator. service was slow in a restaurant that was not crowded. Crab cakes missing flavor, new potatoes were tasty, garden salad was full of cheese. The Cajun Angels were also not very flavorful. The server tried which justified 2 stars.

We arrived at 9:30 p.m. when they are scheduled to close at 10 p.m. As we pulled the door open, someone turned off the open sign, and they then refused to serve us. We had been here previously and had looked forward to our next visit. The hostess who I believe is also an owner, was very unapologetic and didn’t care about us or good customer service.

Service was good, food was ok, atmosphere could use an update. Not bad but not great.

The crab cakes were the Bomb! My daughter had the Cajun Angels and for a 12 year old to not pick her head up to speak while eating is hugely positive! She said she wishes this place was where we live so we could come here everyday. The host was funny, friendly and very attentive. All in all, an extremely enjoyable experience.

Overall would say a mediocre experience. Had the crab appetizer which was less than impressive. it was small and overbooked. Ordered the surf and turf and the shrimp was just bad. Got it grilled and it left a lot to be desired. The 8 oz New York strip was overcooked. It almost seemed like they just threw it on the grill with little to no seasoning. The waitress was nice which is a bonus but the hostess could be seen from our table playing slots and gambling on a laptop. They then proceeded to argue over the attire of another waitress. Overall this place was way overpriced for what you got. Mediocre at best and frankly would not return. Even the water seemed old and disgusting. Gets two stars bc of the waitress

My favorite dish is the alligator appetizer, today my first order was sent back. It tasted like it had been microwaved and it was soggy. The waitress said there was a new cook and sent is back. The second order was far better and more like I remembered. Our platter did not come with the clam strips although the menu advertised it as part of the deal. Platter was nothing like the last visit. So they get a 3. Doubt I’ll be back

My wife and I really enjoyed the friendly prompt service we received. The food was delicious. I had the special-​Trigger Fish with lots of vegetables $ 19.99. My wife enjoyed the Broiled Grouper. This was topped off with the awesome homemade key lime pie. Plenty parking space. It is locally owned and has been around for many years. Food taste better when you get good service from happy people. We got that at this restaurant.

The worst seafood I’ve ever had and I ain’t no kid. Ordered crabcake appetizer, it came with the meal. Soft mushy, some kind of bitter slime on top. Actually cool in center. Mushy mixed vegetables on same plate as entrée so hush puppies, fish, and shrimp were soaked through on bottom side. I paid for meal but couldn’t eat it. Stomach feels lousy now. West of” East Bay «a seafood place was lined up out the door. I should have gotten in line.

Crab cake thick, not spicy – ok. Onion rings-don’t bother. Sauce for crab cake bland. Fried fish – ok. Shrimp delicious. Hush puppies – good, no butter.

Great food. Great service. Must try in Navarre. Our waitress Tiffany was super fun and friendly with kids. Even the hostess was friendly. A very comfortable place. They all make u feel very welcomed

Great owners that are very friendly (greeted us as we came in) and exceptional service.
Food was run of the mill, not with the prices and it lacked real ambiance. Felt more like a low end BBQ joint than a seafood restaurant. Everyone got their food but me, the server had messed up how it was entered. No big deal but by the time it came out everyone was nearly finished. There was no compensation for it on the check or an offer for dessert etc. I am not looking for anything free, but would have been a nice touch considering. I don’t think I would ever eat here again.

2 stars for fresh seafood. 3 stars for service. We were welcomed and seated immediately. I didn’t understand why there was a dinner menu and then a smaller menu that had all the raw bar items. We had to chase the server down to put in our order of oysters. Once they arrived we were disappointed in the size and the technique of how they were cleaned.
Others at our table had fried fish and they felt the calamari app was subpar.
If you have to eat somewhere this is just ok…

We were staying in Navarre and craving some seafood for dinner, East Bay seemed to be the only choice. Upon walking in we were a bit skeptical, the place was empty and quiet. A weird décor, a weird atmosphere. No music. It was all very odd.
The food was nothing at all to rave about. Typical fried fish, a sad salad bar. Very overpriced for all of it. Everything was just a little off. Probably won’t be back next time we’re in Navarre.
