Doggone It is the place to go, particularly if your dog dislikes being groomed. The staff is welcoming and thoughtful. The experience is personalized, and the results are consistently just as requested.

This place is fantastic! My dog has been going here for years and actually enjoys it. I use them for grooming and day care. They are lovely, sweet and super professional. You and dog will be happy here!

My dog is NOT a fan of dog grooming, and the team at Doggone It helped her to relax and go with the flow. They asked good questions about my preferences (and my dog’s), and actually wrote notes for future visits. I liked the option of letting her hang out with the other dogs in the large enclosed area in the front of the store or putting her in a crate. (I chose the former option and she was a happy camper.) Her cut was very well done — complete, no stray bits, even, nails clipped safely short (some groomers leave them too long), ears cleaned out. Nice clean smell. Very good value for the results.

I LOVE Doggone It!!! I used to live 20 minutes away and now I live 50 minutes away and I just can’t stand the thought of finding a new groomer. They do a great job, they take my dogs for almost an entire day (wahoo!!!) and my dogs come home happy and tired. I’m terrible at planning ahead and almost always call 1 – 2 days in advance for an appointment and only once could they not fit me in. I went to the Newton location once, but it’s totally different staff/​atmosphere and I just didn’t like it, so back to Needham I went (Newton would have been closer for me, that’s why I tried it). Cannot recommend these girls enough!

Looking for a groomer that will give you and your family pet (s) the highest personal attention, then look no further than Doggone It (specifically owner/​operator Shelby) in Needham. The whole operation is a family affair from «Nana» the receptionist (Shelby’s grandmother), to Shelby’s co-​owner Mom… immediately, they make you will feel like you’re part of the family!
In 2012, we moved from Needham to the Seattle area. We’ve been lucky to have found another top notch groomer that we love, but Shelby and her staff will always own a big part of our hearts.
Highly recommended.

It was easy to schedule an appointment and the lady was pleasant on the phone. However when we dropped our dog off, they didn’t know how to cut our dog’s hair. I expect a dog grooming business to know how to trim my dog’s fur. I’ve never had a problem with this at other businesses. Then after we picked her up, we noticed her left eye was all red and tearing. This lasted until the next morning. No one said anything to us… not sure if they even noticed. Makes me uncomfortable bringing her back in the future. Very disappointed as it cost $ 70 for a bath, cut, and nails.

I have been taking my Golden Retriever here for about a year. They are great with him, they know him when he walks in the door. What I love most about this place is the fact that my dog is in a play pen with other dogs the whole time. He is never in a crate, and essentially I get free doggy day care on top of him being groomed.
If I tell them I need to get him by a certain time they are very accommodating, and if I am not in a hurry he can stay from 9 AM til 3 or 4 PM. He is always tired when I bring him home from playing all day! On top of the great service, he also looks fantastic. They always put a cute bandana around his neck after being cleaned. This month was Halloween so he has a cute candy corn bandana on his newly groomed neck.
I recommend this grooming place for anyone who has a dog that gets along with other dogs. The price is reasonable, and it is not far from home. If you are looking for a new groomer this is the place!

This is an amazing place. I have 2 Shih-​Tzus who are kept in fairly long coats. I have had trouble getting someone to cut there hair correctly. We left No Bones About It in Brookline after my dogs became so fearful about going there they wouldn’t go in the door and the owner was quite arrogant and uncaring about it and would not admit there was a problem. There was-​and is. Don’t go there.
So we ended up going to S Weymouth from Newton for 6 months as that is where our breeder’s groomer is. A hike! Then I discovered Doggone It by accident. The co-​owner Rhonda is fabulous. She takes care of my boys quickly so they do not have to be at the groomer’s all day and they look absolutely gorgeous. They don’t even mind going to the groomer any more. No crates at this place-​cubbyholes where your pup can see out if it does not want to be on the floor with other dogs.
Cannot recommend this place enough-​drop wherever you go and get your dogs groomed here!

I have had my golden for 4 years and this is the best haircut he has had. Everyone was very friendly and they are priced the same as all other places. I will be coming back for sure

Doggone-​It! Is everything I could have asked for in a grooming salon for my two Australian Labradoodles, Shortcake & Scruffy! We have tried a few shops in the area, and no one has been able to perfect their cut like Doggone-​it has! More importantly, the dogs love love love their visits! They start wagging and barking the moment we get within 2 blocks of the place… and they run through the gate… they can’t wait to play with their doggy friends! Doggone-​it! Is a breath of fresh air! My babies are well cared for, happy, and gorgeous! Everyone should treat their doggy to an appointment at Doggone-​it!

I just started going to Doggone It– The only reason why I am going is because of Hillary! I am traveling about a ½hr from home to have my dog groomed with her.
My dog was a client of her’s in Somerville and Hillary recently started working at Doggone It. She completely understands my concerns as a crazy dog parent and she always asks the right questions. I have a bichon mix and her fur can be difficult and matted at times. Everytime my dog is groomed by her, she looks like a billion bucks!
I also like that Doggone It does not use cages to put the dogs in while waiting… that is my main concern with pet spas.
I feel like the overall spa needs a major renovation (not very inviting) but I guess it has been around for a while.
I will be returning!

We love this place. We have faithfully been going to Shelby for two years now. She is the ony groomer we’ve everr come across to really know and understand our epeleptic Pomeranian, Max and our party animal, Wally. Shelby treats our dogs like they are her own. She is sincere, gives a great cut, and is just a great person. We are very fond of this place, Shelby, Nana Roberta, and of course Chopper.

Doggone It is located on the main road in town. For years I have looked into the shop windows at the menagerie of dogs playing in the shop.
Then I got a dog and took him here to be groomed. His groomer was Michelle and he came back looking really cute with a little bandana around his neck!
This is only the second grooming the dog has had since we got him. The first one was at Petco and they did a nice job too but I was a little more pleased with Doggone It because they will keep the dog for almost the whole day, and not in a crate. So he got to spend most of the day playing with all of that dogs that were there. I thought this was really good for him, but, boy was he tired and grumpy when he got home!
The price was about the $ 60. So it’s not super cheap or anything but I think that’s competitive around these parts.
I didn’t get scolded or charged for him being a little matted (that dental hygienist experience). Since I don’t want to get him groomed *too* often and he gets grouchy when his hair is a little long and I try to comb him this is good.
I shortchanged Michelle on her tip because tips are cash only so remember that when you go! (I’ll get her next time).
