It was my first time staying in a bed and breakfast, and my experience was so good I’m not sure I’ll stay in a traditional hotel ever again! All the rooms have different names, for example you have the Ralph Waldo Emerson room, the Florence Nightingale room, and the Abe Lincoln room. We stay it the Charles Sturgeon(spelling) room. It was a very spacious room with an incredible bathroom. The tub was HUGE! Honeymooners should definitely stay in this room! Even though we went with our two children. The owners were more than nice and accommodating, all guests have 24 hour access to the guest pantry that has snacks, travel size bath things in case you forgot yours, hair dryers, coffee, all the coffee creamers you could imagine, sodas, and videos for you to take to your rooms. The owner uses the huge kitchen to make a full scale breakfast every morning. Also on each floor there is a mini fridge for use, with sodas and waters. The house itself dates back to the 1800s and the family has been running it for 10 years as a B&B. There is an awesome deck with koi pond where you can enjoy reading or your morning cup of coffee. New Albany, Indiana is a quiet little town in the greater Louisville area so you get the best of both worlds. I would never stay anywhere else if coming to the Derby.
