I wasn’t expecting a lot based on various reviews BUT the food was really good :) The service was little but the servers were all extremely polite. Great ambience! I will definitely go back!

After reviewing their star rating and reading some of the reviews I was very shocked to discover this place had a low star rating. Total Shocker. The carpaccio was simply Devine. I had the pasta with filet mignon tips. The service was very attentive. I would recommending training the younger staff. Didn’t know the difference between appetizer and a salad. Told me the salad was my appetizer. Also, we asked what kind of cheese he was going to sprinkle over the pasta. He didn’t know what type of cheese. I just ignored him but my guest was pretty annoyed by that. Salad, Appetizer, 2 Main course, bottle of wine, 2 mixed drinks and two desserts. $ 160. Overall not badly priced. I will be back!

Not even worth going with coupon they have posted. Although we paid full price for the yucky food they served. We were in a group and service was as bad as it can get.

Decent place. Nice for a once in a while dinner with someone special. If you ask for the filet mignon be very clear how you want it, they over cooked mine. Overall GOOD place but nothing Spectacular.

Unfortunately the Panico’s of yesterday can’t be found today. While the staff was very attentive, the food was mediocre at best. Pork chop special was rare and not well seasoned, the mashed potatoes were served almost cafeteria scoop like, they you were not seasoned lacked salt and butter… no real presentation. My dish also a special capellini seafood fra diavolo was just ok. No dish for shells provided. Our app was a stuffed Portobello mushroom, sausage mozzarella and breadcrumbs. $ 12. Hardly stuffed, was medium in size and frankly portion compared to price ridiculous. Sauce garnish was cold. We didn’t order dessert, were honest about how we felt about the food and the waiter announced to the back loudly, table no. X no coffee, no dessert just wants the check. Rude don’t you think? We didn’t ask for anything off the bill, we were just honest about what we thought about the food. Disappointed. Period. $ 34. For stuffed pork chop. Over priced as presented. $ 22. For pasta dish, decent value if better. $ 12. For Portobello mushroom ridiculous. $ 11.75 for my Cosmo before dinner was fine and the highlight of my meal. Panicos needs an intervention. Bring in a new chef or retrain your kitchen. It can be what it was but we won’t be back until you revamp and re launch a fresh new menu.

The first time I went I got the spaghetti and meatballs which wasn’t bad, but also not good and certainly not worth the price. I decided to give them a second chance and ordered delivery– Margarita pizza & garlic bread. To be positive, the garlic bread was pretty good as was the marinara dipping sauce. The pizza on the other hand was terrible. The tomatoes were mostly white/green and often had the stems still on them. The worst part of the pizza was this weird gravely texture when I chewed it.. . It felt like there were tiny pieces of cement in the pizza. After one slice I threw the rest of the pie out. Don’t go here.

My friend and I had lunch at Panicos. Luckily for us we had a gift certificate for Panicos. While the food we ordered was excellent, two drinks, one antipasti, one pasta, and one salad, the cost of the meal was extremely expensive for lunch time. We were wondering why the restaurant was empty. As I said earlier, we had a gift certificate so that really came in handy. The wait staff were very attentive and pleasant and the overall experience was excellent but I do not think I will be going back for lunch any time soon due to it being way overpriced. I cannot imagine what dinner might cost me. I give it a four star less one star due to the price.

Went here for mothers day 2015. We had changed plans last minute and this was one of the only resturants to have reservations available. That was the first warning sign. The place was empty as we walked in as there may have been 5 people tops in the while resturant. The décor isn’t bad although we got stuck in the bar area which was a little cheaper feeling but understanding because we had a larger party. I had the Cesar salad for appetizer which was decent but not for the price of 11 dollars. For dinner I had chicken parm which was very dissapointing. The chicken was too thin and the fried breadcrumb outside was very hard with almost a sandpaper texture. I could of sanded walls with that chicken. The cheese wasn’t even fully melted on the chicken. Overall the place was a poor excuse with its fugazi attempt at making new jersey italian food at New York prices. My local pizza place has better italian food. This place is certainly not worth the high prices. I would not go back here. Dont waste your time, i say skip it. On the brightside it’s right next to steakhouse 85 which is pretty damn good.

Everything was mediocre. First time I went I felt sick all night after eating here. Gave it a second try because I had a gift card. The steak I ordered was rubbery and awful. I wouldn’t voluntarily go back.

I don’t know why this place has so many not five-star reviews. The waiters were attentive, the food is delicious, the bartender feels orders exceptionally correctly.

Would give a 3.5 if I could Went there with my girlfriend and it was a good experience overall, hard to reach place though because no parking nearby There was some sort of party/event going on in the main area so I can’t comment on the décor, we had to go to a side area but it was nice, dimly lit so it was intimate. Service was mixed, it felt like we had 2 people checking/waiting on us, one was not talkative almost rude, hard to really say, other gentlemen was nicer and offered to take our picture and was pleasant. Food: as a vegetarian the options were limited so we had the penne vodka, it was delicious nonetheless… don’t come here as a vegetarian without scoping out the menu Overall: Great tasting food, bit more upscale/pricey a good place to take a date

My wife and I went for dinner. Each of us had a pasta dish form their specials of the day menu. Both meals were excellent. The tiramisu was good, but not up to par with rest of the meal. Service was attentive and pleasant. Recommended.

We dined here prior to a show at the NJ State Theatre. Via the NJST link to local restaurants we discovered a pre-theater prixe fixe menu. When we were seated we received only the regular menu and had to request the above mentioned«deal.» The waiter returned with a typed sheet of paper from which we ordered. Imagine our surprise when the bill arrived and the $$ amount was far different than what we had expected. It was explained that we had asked for the«wrong» deal, it should have been the«other deal.» What??? Now it’s the diner’s responsibility to know how many deals they offer and decode their phrasing? As to the food: delicious and ample portions, no complaints whatsoever. Methinks the management needs to work on some things like customer appreciation and basic business strategies!

When I order a filet mignon medium rare, and they serve it with a sweet sauce drizzled all over it! That’s the last time I eat there. Goobye! Too pricey, and when you use the Unilocal coupon, they force a 18% tip — like the service and food or not!

The food was not at all good. Had the tiramisu for dessert, the sauce was expired(tasted sour). Waitress first said that it should taste like that and then brought another one that was fresher. Waitress didn’t take it off the bill. The scallop risotto special was over-salted. The service was slow. Some of the bread was stale. The pork chop was good though.

it’s a ok place. All the comments from other people are pretty much true. the price is way too high.(I guess that’s the reason they put a 20 for 40 coupon.) the service is very slow. the most ridiculous thing is that 18% gratuity was automatically added, FORTWO people!

A New Brunswick staple. Frank Panico established this fine restaurant 30 years ago when Church street was just a dirt road. His son now carries the same quality standard that his father created years ago. The staff is friendly, inviting and attentive. The menu serves up Italian classics or if you have something in mind off the menu, ask and you shall receive. The chefs are always open to accommodate requests. I have been here enough to have tried everything on the menu and I have never been disappointed. I have had family birthdays, anniversaries, holiday gatherings, even spent NYE here and I keep coming back for one main reason QUALITY.

I’m giving a 4 based on my overall experience– service was FANTASTICO. Food was basic italian. We had a deal for $ 39, two salads, two entrees, two desserts. The ceasar was better than the balsamic(since I didn’t taste balsamic at all). We both had tilapia and although I didn’t love the fact it was fried or breaded, the sauce(mustard aioli) was amazing! I asked for more and dipped my breads in there, put some on the spinach and more on the fish. It was delicious! Finally the desserts– we both had cannoli and cappuccino– and we loved both! The dessert was our highlight. Conclusion: The food was more like a B but the service was an A and It’s 4-stars to encourage some more people to try it out!
