the only good thing about this resturant is they deliver, but can’t recommend this place. Over the past year the food quality has plummeted such that the pizza is the worst in the area. Even the subs are lousy. Many better pizza choices that also deliver.

Joe’s is perfection except for their tomato sauce taste, it has a strong chemical/faux sauce/burnt seasoning flavor. If they could upgrade this sauce I’d eat here more. The Sicilian is great! There are other options in town nearby too but Joes has been around the longest… others are locali(naples style/gourmet toppings/expensive), pinocchios(mediocre), vicolos(bad dough taste, needs a refresh and rebranding)…etc.

I’m from New Canaan and this was my go to pizza joint. Recently moved back to the area and went here today for lunch for pizza and meatball grinder. Everything was delicious and just like I remember it. The pizza was crispy and the meatball grinder had a bunch of mozzarella cheese like I like it. The staff was really nice and I don’t have one complaint. If I lived closer I’d go here all the time.

Joe’s is one of the older(if not the oldest) pizza places in New Canaan. This place has the feel of a classic pizzeria. They offer a wide variety of pizzas, but I normally stick with their cheese or BBQ chicken, which is one of their signature pies. I would suggest trying some of their other selections as well, as they are all great. Great place to grab a slice when on the go. Staff is always friendly, and the owner is always finding new ways to better the business.

Pretty unremarkable. Won’t be in a rush to order from here again.

When I was working in new canaan joes was the only place I would eat pizza in new canaan(no pizza on mondays) after having the competition. He mixes his dough with some whole wheat flour so it adds some flavour, but not affecting the stretchiness of the dough.

The best Pizza in town! Been going there for years. I’m originally from New York this comes the closest.

Joe‘s has been in operation for a good stretch, 40+ years I believe. Which lets you know that they are certainly doing something right. It is heavily take-out & delivery, as there are only a few stools and a narrow counter inside. The style is NY thin crust, with the classic toppings represented and a few interesting specialty pies. The pizza is good, not great imho. Staff is friendly and helpful. I can understand why locals continue to come here year after year. That being said, some of the 5 star reviews have got to have an element of «local love» in them. Because although good as noted earlier, this is by no means, «destination food».

Average, as in average Joe. It does the job like a quickie or a self induced love fest. Not mind blowing. They are friendly though, which is important.

The proscuitto pesto chicken pizza is excellent. Their thin chewy pizza crust is the best in town. Lorenzo delivers the goods in a straight-forward no nonsense manner.

Surprisingly good pizza by the slice. Stopped by while walking around New Canaan and had a slice of Buffalo Chicken. Chicken was tasty and crispy and the thick layer of cheese really worked well with the crispy crust. Overall, one of the best slices of pizza I’ve had in a while and will definitely come back for a quick bite when I come back to the area. Wish I didn’t live an hour away so I could get delivery.

Easily my favorite pizza in town made by Lorenzo, second generation pizza artist. My pizza of choice is the bacon and tomato, a delicious combination. When ordering peppers with your sausage make sure you ask for the variety you like as Joe’s offers three different pepper toppings. His newly minted hot oil pizza is a great alternative to the regular choices.

A great slice is hard to come by when you’re out of New York. The pizza at Joe’s is delicious, and the sauce is very flavorful — you can taste the rich tomatoes and basil. The barbecue chicken — wasn’t as good, but that’s just me. Follow them on Twitter(@JoesPizzaLLC): they’ll tweet when they’re giving away free pizza!

Hands Down, The best pizza in New Canaan; dare I say, Fairfield County. The special pies are special indeed. Try the Margareta or Pulled Pork.

I grew up with Joe’s… I remember the old location with the fountain and Punch Out arcade machine… I have many happy childhood memories there. Since then Joe’s has changed a lot. It went from being a strictly family business to being a little more of a standard take out /delivery pizza place. However the Pizza is pretty similar to how it used to be. Back in the day the pizza was phenomenal and was actually cooked by who I assumed to be Joe himself. However now the standards have dropped a little, but not enough to discredit them too much. It basically knocked my review from what would have been a five down to a four. Joe’s provides EXCELLENT New York style pizza. I recommend getting it freshly made instead of getting it by the slice. You have to experience Joe’s made fresh, otherwise you are missing out. If you live in New Canaan, you have to eat to at Joe’s. It’s your duty as a New Canaan resident to support this excellent restaurant.
